I enjoy others of my Bonds more than this one, but I do really appreciate Washington Square's unique qualities. Sometimes I specifically crave it and it really hits the spot for me. I consider it a comfort scent and one of those that can have a strangely addictive quality.I really don't understand why they named this fragrance after a location that features social gatherings & fun games -- to me, it has a more isolated, moody, loner quality (which is what I like about it). It's a rose-tarragon-leather-vetiver with a kind of musky/dusty drydown. It puts me in mind of overcast, chilly days -- wearing a gray fleece jacket -- walking alone, nobody around -- yet feeling comforted in the eerie stillness. I have to be in the mood for it -- and probably not planning to be closely around a lot of people, because it's not the crowd-pleasing type, IMHO -- many wouldn't like it.It reminds me somewhat of the original Agent Provocateur, only fresher & more rosy. I like it a lot but have gotten big complaints from DH immediately after spraying, so I'll just plan to spray it when he's not around -- I still really like it. The drydown on skin smells really nice to me.Unisex, but leans more toward feminine, due to the rose & honey notes. Love the name, love the beautiful blue bottle & picture on the label. For me, this is an atmospheric comforting retreat-from-the-world scent that I personally can relate to, but I feel the majority of the perfume-sniffing public probably would not.

I got my sample today and couldn't wait to try it out after showering so it would have clean skin. I actually quite like this, but it is to masculine on me so I'm going to have my husband try it. It is a very nice blend of crisp spices, soft echoing florals in the heart and the leather is incredible as it dries down, not overwhelming at all. During all the phases it never lost that alluring spicyness accompanying all the other notes but never overtaking them, just stayed in the back adding a richness to them. As others have reviewed, it is a very smoothly blended perfume that I can see my husband wearing and my appreciating it more on him than on me. A great fragrance that is very wearable and unique.Edit: He has worn it and I was right, on him it is really, really great. Glad I had him use the sample and most definitely one to get for him.

I love this. I don't know how the strange dynamics of my brain remind me of that small giant spirit called Emily Dickinson, poet. I imagine how she may sing the wedding of a tender Massachussets rose with the exotic and mysterious Monsieur Tarragon, coming from Southern France and wearing a bold geranium flowers on his pocket and intimidating leather boots. Around the incredible couple, it's little wonder how bees are buzzing around harvesting a sweet and sour honey. It's my perfect late spring fragrance, I love its fresh rose over what I smell like a velvety vetiver (I'm not a fan of vetiver, but I find interesting here). The bottle is lovely, too, a light cobalt blue with a sort of impressionistic painting of the place evoked. This may not be one of Bond's masterpieces, but I love how straight and simple it comes out.

The most obnoxious flagship store is in New York. Avoid it like the plague. Twice I have been there and twice I was treated like dirt (and no, I was not dressed like a bum, or badly behaved) I simply wanted to browse and try all the fragrances without being interrogated and given dirty looks. So I tried asking to buy some samples, I was told they don't SELL samples...So I asked them to GIVE me samples, and was told they don't just GIVE OUT samples.Furthermore, they do not allow online perfume shops access to their products so people can try before they invest in one their honking overpriced bottles!!!!So let me get this straight:-They don't let you"browse" quietly in the store-They Don't SELL samples-They don't GIVE away samples; and-They don't make samples available onlineSo how the HELL are you supposed to know which of their fifty thousand perfumes you are willing to splurge for!!?? Horrible customer relations and way overrated scents. Its no wonder their ratings are so low on here.

Didn't expect much out of this after reading bad reviews. And then I got the free pocket spray in the mail and I must say that I am obsessed! I think this is my favorite Bond ever! Smells like honeyed purple rose and I can't stop sniffing it. Not to mention the pretty blue bottle! I can't wait to buy a full bottle!

I've tried some three or four samples of this brand, and I cannot for the life of me understand what the hype is all about. Thoroughly over-priced and very little (if any) to justify the price. The scents I tried - can't remember the names; that's how impressed I was - were generic, at best, and had little staying powder. Also, there are just waaaay too many scents to choose from. It overwhelms me (me, a perfume addict), and I quickly run out of patience. Not for me, this brand.

Got my free sample of Washington Square in the mail yesterday. One word: AWFUL. Smells like Irish Spring on steroids, and it is tenacious. I thought perhaps I'd use it as a bathroom air freshener, but even that was intolerable. Bond seems to be pumping out the new scents left and right; I wish they'd slow down and go for quality over quantity.
