Received in a gift exchange, I was thrilled by the prospect of this "no mess" mask and optimistic for the slightest visible improvement. The liquid soaked fabric held no staying power which required frequent adjustments while little droplets trickled into my hair and down my neck. The mask felt cool and soothing, so the mess seemed justified with promise of any skin improvement. As instructed, after 15 minutes I removed the mask and massaged the remaining liquid into my skin. After using the third of the six masks without any visible improvements, it's been relegated to the skincare graveyard. Convenient and highly sanitary packaging is greatly appreciated.

This mask by SK-II has long been a part of my skincare arsenal and I love it. It is a fairly run of the mill cotton sheet mask that is soaked in SK-II's "pitera" concoction, which is a nasty-sounding yeast byproduct. That byproduct, though, is chock full of things like amino acids, vitamins, and minerals. It works wonderfully on the skin. I apply this mask as a rescue remedy. If I've done something horrible to my skin, whether it be overexfoliated or undermoisturized, the facial treatment mask sets me right. It's like a reset button for my skin. I leave it on for 20 minutes and then go to bed. In the morning, my skin is rested and glowing.Pitera is touted for anti-aging benefits but I can't really attest to those, unless you want to count skin not looking haggard as anti-aging. If I used these more frequently, I might be able to tell a difference in fine lines and firmness, I suppose. There is a very good reason, however, that I save them for skin emergencies: the price. SK-II is a luxury brand and to buy these masks individually will set you back $17 each. A box of 10 is more reasonable at $135, but still not exactly a product that is feasible to use every day.

In comparison to other masks I've tried, if you want your skin to glow, this is the one to get. I loved it so much that I went ahead and purchased SK-II Facial Treatment Essence. This isn't the best mask I've tried for hydration (keep in mind that my skin leans on the drier end) or reducing the appearance of pores. It's the glow that is amazing. Tatcha's Luminous Deep Hydration Lifting Mask does a better job hydrating my skin and Manefit's Soothing Aqua Collagen Hydrogel Mask does a better job of temporarily reducing pore size. Price wise Tatcha is the most expensive. It's $95 for 4 masks ($23.75 per mask) in comparison to SK-II $130 for 10 masks ($13.50 per mask). Manefit is $6.00 per mask. The SK-II mask is worth keeping in your sheet mask rotation and definitely before an event.

I might be the only one in this world, who didn't like this mask, but oh well! Not that it was bad per say, it wasn't WOW as I expected. I have much cheaper sheet masks, even those from Sephora's own brand, which are much better/cheaper than this little guy. SK2 claims a lot of wonderful things, but I just haven't noticed any difference in my skin after using it. Not right away, not even on a second day. I think that there a lot of better alternatives out there, so don't feel the need to pay for the name of the brand alone. You can read more about my sheet masks haul here (http://www.partyparrotblog.com/single-post/2017/05/22/Battle-Of-Sheet-Masks) but to conclude this post, I should say that I can't recommend it and I don't think I will ever repurchase it.

Do they work? They do for me. I'm Indian, oily skinned, in humid Mumbai, and 35 years old. The mask makes me look like I've been on holiday - all rested and restored. I need less concealer too! No cream does that for me. I already use the FTE (5 drops patted in nightly like a good girl) and it's helped somewhat with balancing out the difference in colours and textures on my face. It's about the only thing I can use on my face all year without breakouts. I get three uses out of these expensive masks - on my first use, I squeeze out the excess serum and save it in the foil packet. And once my mask dries, it save it back in the packet, clip it shut and put it in the fridge. I do my second use within the week, soaking out the excess etc again but throw the mask out when done. My third use, a week later is serum only. The effect is only slightly less obvious and the saving tremendous. Haha!

Quite glad this didn’t provide me any amazing results after using three of these masks that were gifted to me. Otherwise, I think my wallet would cry. The mask is very heavyweight & thick, easy to unfold, despite no additional plastic films like some other masks include. It barely fit my entire face (got that big forehead), but the placement of the eyes/nose/mouth holes worked for me. After using it for 20-30 minutes after cleansing my face + first essence, it did seem to make my skin slightly more plump, more taught, and more radiant. Maybe the mask actually had more effect on my skin than I’m claiming because I do not want to allow myself to get sucked into the SK-II craze. I feel that there are plenty of other Asian skincare products that will do the trick and at half the cost. For someone that tries to use sheet masks weekly (with a goal to use it more often), this would be a hefty habit. I enjoyed using the excess serum in the pouch more than the actual mask. I just pat it directly onto my skin and it felt soothing and hydrating. With dry/dehydrated skin, I do need a bit more moisture and this one didn’t really wow me on the hydration side. For the sake of trying this brand & sheet masking, it’s a great option if you are looking for high-end gift ideas.

Out of the entire SKII range, this is my favourite product.I like to apply this on nights before a special occasion. Once, I tried it the morning of an occasion and applied make up on top (you're not supposed to wash product off). The make up ended up pilling (rolling off) and I looked patchy, so I had to start the process again from scratch. There is a lot product in the pack. I like to use the mask, and as the serum dries off, apply another layer from the pack to use up the rest of the product. An alternative is to use it once, and make sure you try and prevent the product from evaporating by using a clip of some sort on the pack. I keep a pack of sterile unused face masks (with no product), so on the 2nd night, I can use an unused face mask and soak it in the remaining solution. This means you can have 2 nights in a row of using the mask. You can keep it on overnight and wake up to radiant skin. Keep in mind that in the morning, you will have a noticeable line around your hair where the product has dried off, so you will need to wash your face carefully in the morning - or wash your hair. Other than the radiant skin, I have not noticed an improvement with texture/pores, etc etc.I like to use my mask on overseas flights. It's a good product. I hate the price tag though. If you have money to burn and are keen to experiment, it's an ok choice. Personally, I like to use my Etude House Vita Complex masks (?$USD 1.5) on a regular basis, and the SKII for special occasions. But does it live up to the price? No....

This mask did nothing for me. The mask was closer to cardboard than cotton, it was so stiff and difficult to fit on my face. The Pitera essence was actually pretty gross -- I spread a thin layer of the leftover essence on my neck, decolletage, and shoulders, and instead of sinking into my skin, it sat on the surface and pilled up wherever I touched my skin. Same thing with my face after I took the mask off, except worse. My skin looked no different immediately after using this mask or the next morning; it had the same "just applied product" glow as it does when I use any other sheet mask or serum. However, when I woke up, I had pilled-up essence all along my hairline...so gross. I'm stupid and purchased 10 of these thinking there was no way they wouldn't work for me given that literally every other sheet mask I've tried (Benton, MBD, Too Cool for School, Sephora brand, Dr. Morita, Skinfood, etc.) has done at least something for my skin, and the SKII masks seem to be every other woman's HG so why wouldn't they work for me. Lesson learned, these are horrid. Would never repurchase.

Love this face mask! Yes it's expensive but it's worth purchasing if you have a special event coming up, I normally would use it a few nights before and it leaves my skin glowing for about a week later, there is always heaps of product left in the packet so I wipe it all over my chest and arms to not waste any.
