This device is a pain to use, and smells horrible during use! It takes forever to use. But if you follow directions and stick with it, you will eventually see that your hair growth slows a bit. However, this result only lasts as long as you continue to use the device regularly. Once you stop using it, the hair growth will quickly return to it's original state and growth rate. There are no permanant results with this. If you're looking for permanant, this isn't it. If you are okay with something that just slows the growth, I'd say spend your money on a decent epilator. That will slow the growth more than this. Epilators give a much smoother result...AND it will be quicker and easier to use and won't stink up your house. I would not recommend the Nono.

My first review on a product -exciting! and as ive use this for over 2 years now, i feel i can give quite an accurate perspective.
Theres many cons with this product (I have the 8800)
- It wont always remove the hair how you want it to. Its not like shaving where you can get rid of everything, it works better on longer hair than short stubbly hair, also better on thinner than thicker hair.
-It absolutely stinks. And no it does not get better in time like they tell you
- It can nick your skin if you havnt got the hang of it slightly leaving a small reddish brown mark but its very minor
In spite of this, i still love it. I use it mainly on my face, other things like waxing/threading made my problematic skin even worse bringing my acne back, bleaching isnt a long term solution so the NoNo for me is my little saviour. I think its great because i find it the best way to get rid of facial hair, however, with thicker hair eg sides of your face, you'll find the hair isnt completely removed, just made much shorter but as its only noticible if i point it out so it doesnt bother me. What i like to do is use the nono and as the hair will be back atleast within a week, for myself anyway, i will then bleach the hair, and when its grown longer, its easier for the nono to remove it again and so on. It says to moisterise your skin afterwards but i have to cleanse first as youre left with some sort of nonsense afterwards, i dont know how to describe it, you cant see anything on your face but you'll find your cleansing wipes left with marks.
I would say it isnt worth it at all if youre wanting to use it on a small area like your upperlip or eyebrows- i never use it there to be honest, the area is just too small for the nono to properly work.
Lastly, i havnt really found a significant reduction in hair, and also, the thermicon tips need to be properly looked after and cleaned regularly whilst using it, i tend to buy a pack of 3 larger tips and this pack will probably last me a year.
So all in all, i would only recommend this if theres no other option of hair removal, if the hair isnt too thick and if you can put up with an awful smell afterwards. Like i say, i love it, but its not for everywhere, and its probably not for everyone.

This is for the corded version. This review is assuming the cordless isn't dramatically different.

pros- It works on blonde hair. IPL doesn't work on every skintone/hair color.

cons- You will spend so much more time using this in comparison to home IPL devices. Now that silkn, remington i light, etc have come down in price the NONO is not worth it IMO. The silkn is 180 w/one cartridge right now on Amazon. The silkn sensepil cartridges used to go for like 50, now target online has them for 27. The corded nono is 250 and comes with 2 hot blades.

If you're getting this for the bikini area don't bother. Look up the clinical study, it didn't work well for that area. Basically my results mirrored the study results very closely. The pubmed abstract looks good but compared to my experience with the silkn it's very time consuming. Plus, the silkn works well for the bikini area which is huge, for me.

Clinical evaluation of a handheld self-treatment device for hair removal.
Spencer JM.

Laser- and light-based methods for hair removal, though effective, are expensive and may be associated with adverse effects. Our objective was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of a thermal, handheld self-treatment device (no!no! Thermicon, Radiancy Inc, Orangeburg, NY) for removing unwanted hair.

Twelve of the 20 enrolled subjects underwent 6 supervised and 6 unsupervised self-treatments of their lower legs and umbilicus-bikini areas at twice-weekly intervals for 6 weeks. Follow-up visits were scheduled at 2, 6, and 12 weeks after the final treatment. Results were evaluated by pretreatment, post-treatment, and follow-up hair counts.

For legs, the median clearance percentages were 48% post-treatment and 43.5% at 12 weeks.

*** For the umbilicus-bikini area, the median clearance percentage was 15% at 12 weeks.

PLEASE READ THE DIRECTIONS BEFORE USING! A lot of the negative reviews are from people who wanted immediate results. No!No! works over time. You have to use it 2-3 times a week foe about 4-6 weeks before you really start to see results. Over time the hair growth will slow down significantly, saving both time and money. You just have to understand how it works.

(BUYER BEWARE) I called to get the price of this product since it doesn't give one on the commercial the guy I spoke with refused to give me the price for the first 5 min. Finally I got a price and he said where am I shipping this to. I said I am not ready to purchase this yet I need to speak with my daughter about what color she wants and I would call back in an hour he would not take NO for an answer he kept asking me what the shipping address was going to be. I then asked why was he pushing me into buying his product and he said let me ask you a question then he proceeded to yell at me and tell me if I wasn't going to buy why was I wasting his (F Word) time then he hung up. When I called to make a complaint they said they would take him off the phones for a week to do training so he knows how to deal with customers. I am not amused by this he should be fired, so my 16 yr old will not be getting this product for x-mas! Sorry Brittany

I was so excited to get my No No, but was disappointed the very first time I used it. Day one I used it over my fore arms and it did not remove any hair that I could see. I smelled burning hairs so I know it was working but still I could still see a lot of hair left on my arms. I used it every other day and still no results. I tried it on my chin and that was about the only result I could see and it still wasn't 100%. I can still see little hairs even after using it about 5 times. Now I decided to try it on my legs...OMG...It did nothing. I did not shave on purpose so I could see how the No No worked. When I ran it over my legs it did not get rid of any hair. My legs were still prickly. I don't have the patience to run this little gadget over my legs for 30 to 45 minutes at a crack and get no results. I'm sending mine back today.

Does not work! I gave the no!no! a chance, not just for six weeks, but for almost six months. I used it at least 3X a week or more, properly and consistently. My legs were never ever hair-free or smooth just from using it.

After doing some research, I found that an evaluation was done at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Their conclusion states, "Relative to shaving, the hot-wire (no!no!) device does not produce lessened hair density, decreased hair re-growth rate, greater duration of effect, nor induce changes in hair thickness and color. We conclude that the hot-wire device does not offer any benefit as compared to shaving."
