I swear by (not really) Dior or Tarte liners but I grabbed this in three colors one morning b/c I forgot my travel makeup bag at home (doh!). I absolutely, positively wasn't expecting much from this liner but lemme tell ya - the black liner (only one I've tried of the 3) stays put. I have a cold and can't stop blowing my nose, which of course causes watery eyes and still no smudging. It's 2:30 right now, I applied this around 8:30 and it looks as fresh as it did this morning. Tentative HG cheap liner because I have yet to put a drugstore liner into HG status...we'll see as the humidity kicks in.Side note: I am not wearing any primer, face or eye shadow.

I actually like how this liner looks on me, but when I wake up the day after wearing it, my eyes are gummed shut with crap and are fire engine red. I've never had this happen with any other liner. I have now thrown this liner away.

I love this eyeliner! I like it better than Urban Decay's Zero. This thing is super black and does actually apply and look like a gel or a liquid. I used it to create a dramatic cat eye last weekend for a Halloween party and it didn't budge. I always use my finger and rub the outside corner of my eye when I line my waterline to make sure my eyeliner isn't smudging underneath my eye. This smudges a very little bit but nothing like other eyeliners I have used. The smudger on the back is awesome. It's a rubber type material rather than the sponge type that accompanies most eyeliners and it is so much better. I just lightly rub it over my line and it looks so smooth. There have been some complaints about the packaging. It is a plastic pencil that is not retractable. You do have to sharpen it but I used the same sharpener I have had in my makeup bag for years and did not have a problem. I would dare call this HG but if I do, CoverGirl will change the formula or discontinue. So I won't. But it's my favorite eyeliner ever.

I bought this based on the lengthy detailed report by another viewer who adored it. It goes on smoothly, but does, indeed smudge and run, like most liners. A little better than most, but if you are in humidity at all, forget it. Raccoon eyes are certain. Just goes to show that what works on someone else's face is not necessarily what works on yours. I would think your best just of accuracy is finding reviews based on someone about your own age with similar skin and going by the majority.

I purchased this eyeliner about two years back, because of a good recommendation and I absolutely love it! It glides on perfectly, the pigmentation is great and it hardly smudges (only on the waterline).the little smudger tool on the end of it helps you create great cat eyes and winged looks. I've probably went through about six pencils of this I like it better than my Smashbox eyeliner or any other. Totally would recommend!

My holy grail eyeliner. I can't use powdered or gel because I'm THAT UNCOORDINATED. This stuff goes on beautifully (I use the 'dot and smudge' technique for day; and draw a line for evening). This stuff is bombproof - great pigmentation, sharpens to a great point if you want a subtle look and the smudgy thingy at the end works beautifully -- even close to the inner corner of the eye. I used it every day during chemo to fake eyelashes and it did a great job. I've tried gels, liner pens and cake liner and some of these were high end products - this product beat them all.

This eyeliner is pigmented and creamy but it smudges really bad on me. :(

Love love love this eyeliner! Usually I use a liquid for my top lash line because I have hooded lids and liquid doesn't transfer, and then I use a pencil for my waterline. This works for both my top lash line and waterline. It doesn't transfer, it doesn't smudge, lasts all day, love it! And I love how smoothly it goes on. With liquid I find the brushes hard to control and I can't get a straight line but with this I get a perfect line every time.

I thought almost $9 was a bit pricy for a CG eyeliner pencil. It does go on smoothly, but it's the first eyeliner that has irritated my eyes as much as it did. It smeared but my eyes were watering quite a bit. I had to re-do my make up and wear my glasses to work that day. My eyes were far less red the next morning, but I think I'm done testing out new eyeliners for awhile.

I liked this product at first because the color glided on so smoothly and the smudger worked well. Three weeks later, I try to sharpen it with two different sharpeners and it just WILL NOT SHARPEN! At first I thought it was a twist-up because the pieces that peeled off looked like plastic. Then I realized the pencil just wouldn't fit into my sharpener snugly. I read elsewhere online that a Covergirl 3-in-1 sharpener is recommended, but I really don't feel like using a pencil that requires a specific sharpener. I've used my 2 sharpeners for years and have never had a problem with other pencils.
