Love this eyeliner! Overall very impressed with its staying power, can get all day long and well into the early mornings with this stuff. I have both black and brown. Black is great for getting that nice cat eye look with a slanted liner brush, and brown is lovely for that smokey look. I have found it is absolutely necessary to close very tightly or else these will dry up in a short amount of time. Very impressed with product, will definitely buy again.

I thought this might look soft and 60s-like on my eyes (the era not my age!) however it just looked pretty washed out on me. The glitter in it is too much for my liking too. The texture is very smooth maybe a bit too watery. I much prefer the plain black version without glitter and when new, it applies well and doesn't budge. I would not buy this again.

I have used cream/gel eyeliners for years. MAC fluidline was my all time favorite. Recently I tried two of Stila's Smudge Pots. I thought MAC's Blitz & Glitz was the best of all until I tried Black Cat. I have very oily eyelids and eyeliner has always ran and smudged on me. t is a drier texture than Fluidline but it wears pretty well and has this wonderful shine that brightens up they eyes. This color is a great alternative to basic black. It can be layered for a very dramatic look or applied lightly for a shimmery subtle look.

Really wanted to love this product. I looked through Sephora for a good gel/cream pot liner intending to get black, but this looked too pretty to pass up, so I got this instead. I really loved the color after swatching it on my hand, I too think straight black is a bit harsh on my pale skin, and the shimmer off sets the black perfectly. HOWEVER, when i went to put it on (tried an angled liner brush as well as a pointed liner brush), I got flakes all over my face and around my eyes. It wasn't even dried out, i had JUST scooped it out of the jar...I'm not sure about other Smudge Pots but the formula of this just wasn't great. I was sad to return it, but the flaking just is not acceptable. I don't rub my eyes, i just dabbed them gently and even then flakes still came off during the day and i also found specks on my face each time i looked in the mirror. Other than that, no smudging or creasing. So a 5 for color, 3 for staying power, and the flakes...no.

I have now purchased 3 smudge pots and love them all. FYI, you need the brush - I use #28 double ended brush.Black cat looks fairly 'flat' in the pot but once you start using it the platnium/silver sparkles show. But not in a OTT way. I am 36 and work in a management role and had no issues with wearing this to work or out at night. I do not have the black but imagine that this is a softer version (almost a charcol rather than black) and great on it's own or as part of a smokey eye look (which I am yet to perfect). Like all the smudge pots it is buildable, does not smudge and stays on ALL day, even through a Body Attack work out.I had to get this on evil bay as not available in Australia, and even if you can find it is ridiculous at $40 a pop. Ongoing anger issues with the cost of Stila in Oz compared to USA!I would advise this over black unless you are really into a heavy black liner look. Would repurchase but suspect it will take me forever to get through pot (especially when rotating with my Barbie Purple Pumps and Kitten which I love just as much).

I'm not sure which of Stila's recent Smudgepots I love more - this or Golden Noir. Black Cat is just like Golden Noir but infused with tiny silver particles instead of gold. It's just as versatile as Golden Noir too - looks great with plums, pinks, greys, blues and even greens - and I bet would make a fabulous base for a heavy smoky eye. The only place I've seen it recently is at Ulta's website, so get it now before it disappears!

I haven't worn Stila smudgepots in a long while although I own quite a few of them but when I saw Black Cat I just had to have it. It's a black eyeliner with silver microglitter. It's simply amazing and unlike other gel liners that have glitter in the pot and don't show up on your lids this one does. The silver is very noticeable in a good way. It almost makes this a softer black which is good for my liking since I have tons of deep black eyeliners and gel liners that I hardly reach for. Recently I've been wearing it with MAC Style Snob eyeshadow all over the lid, Twinks in the crease, and Your Ladyship pigment on brow bone for a soft brownish smokey look. You get a generous amount for the price you pay and the gel is very soft and smooth. I apply this with my MAC 210 brush. I've also winged it out a bit for other looks. Stila should really make this more available (I found mine at Ulta but as far as I know it wasn't sold at Sephora) and should make more colors like this (gel liners with microglitter). I'm very happy with what they're doing with their smudgepots at the moment and hope they keep it up!
