I thought I would try a mid-priced volumizing shampoo, to see if the results were on par with spending more money over cheaper volumizing shampoos.

This Lavish Volume Shampoo, at $15, doesn't provide any noticeable results. I don't experience volumized hair at all. The name seems to be an utter lie!

The paired conditioner with this shampoo, however, makes my hair very swingy and sleek.

I would buy the conditioner again, but not the Lavish Volume Shampoo.

I think this is going to be my new HG of volumizing shampoos. I was a great fan of John Frieda volumizing shampoo until the company changed the formula (why do they do that!?!) and left my hair dried-out and straw-like. Nexxus Lavish Volume does give my fine, flat hair volume (although not as much as the JF) but where it really stands out is the way it leaves my hair shiny and healthy-looking. I use the shampoo together with the matching conditioner and I love the way my hair looks now. I also find that I don't have to shampoo as often (every three days, even though I have an oily scalp) which is also a great bonus. Now I do find my hair has lost volume by day 2 (and certainly by day 3) but I use a dry shampoo to revive it.

It made my hair silky, shiny and slightly bouncy but no real volume. My hair got greasy really quickly though, like in 24 hours. Will not buy again.

I have super-oily scalp, which means I have to wash my hair every other day and I can wear my hair down only the day of the wash. I was shocked to find that for the past week of using this shampoo, I can sleep in a hot room and wake up with clean roots! To me, that's one good reason to buy this shampoo again. I found that it doesn't lather up like regular shampoos do, but I use a quarter-sized amount and emulsify it with a bit of water and it still works great and rinses perfectly clean. I am still using my L'Oreal EverStrong conditioner but I can't wait to try other products by Nexxus. Strongly recommend this shampoo to girls who have fine, oily hair.

I just bought Sublime Volume conditioner with Lavish Volume shampoo today. My hair is fine (and thinning) colour treated and a little dry on the ends and prone to frizz all over. I have an 'ocean wave' running through my hair which makes it a challenge to style naturally. My scalp tends towards oily, and I get scalp build up easily with products. Every time I've tried a 'volumizing' shampoo or conditioner in the past I found they just fluff your cuticles, or dry out your scalp and make your hair poofy and dry and frizzy. My hair is naturally shiny one thing I love about my hair, and I really hate dull looking locks.

I tried the products today and they absolutely work. The shampoo is clear and at first I thought I poured out too much (more than I normally use in shampoo – the dispensing due to bottle style is a little hard to control) – anyway I was surprised at first that it almost didn’t seem enough to work through my day old dirty hair. But with gentle attention it did get it through to my scalp and it rinsed out to perfectly clean hair and scalp (almost to the point of being squeaky but moisturized enough not to be).

I review the conditioner on that page.

Then I just did a quick fluff dry with my hands and blow dryer, and wow, my angled bob completely bought into my ocean wave and my hair came out bouncy, shiny and alive with all the tresses behaving in a glorious tousle, full all around and not triangulated – ah! Heaven! Light and full at crown, with body, glossiness and total manageability. I will be watching out for any dryness though.

Afterwards my scalp felt kind of tingly in a good way and my hair felt lifted at the folicle. And the body's lasted so far.

So far so good!

I just started using this a few washes ago. I can't tell what to credit it for exactly since I use it with the Sublime conditioner, but together they make a great team. My hair feels a bit fuller and definitely has more swing and life to it. My scalp feels really clean too, no feel of residue or dryness. After a couple of hours my hair feeels very light and flat but when I look in the mirror, the volume is still there! It doesn't do anything drastic in the volume department, but what it does do, lasts until the next wash. At least for me. The scent is a bit strong for me, but I think I'll buy again if it continues to work as well.
