This is my only Iris fragrance and while I don't wear it often, when i do i really enjoy it. My first purchase of a niche fragrance was MPG Parfum D'habit, and i will always remember the moment i first smelled it, there are no words, it was a smell like no other, and i felt the same way when i first sniffed my sample of Route du Vetiver in the middle of winter - it was transporting. …Read more

Notes: green leaves, lemon, bergamot, iris absolute, vanilla, jasmine, moss, vetiver and musk.

This fragrance opens with a powdery iris note underneath of which I see a citrusy floral. As the fragrance progresses a dry spice note envelops the two delicate floral notes and creates a delightful contrast of spicy and sweet, dry and powdery. There seems to be interplay between iris and …

Less floral than Prada Infusion d'Iris, but less rooty/earthy than Serge Lutens Iris Silver Mist. Dry, with a hint of spice and pepper. This EDT is marketed as a masculine fragrance in their line. MPG's also has Fleur d'Iris on the feminine side, which I haven't tried. Didn't work for me, but Iris lovers should obtain a sample to try. It's reasonably priced in line …Read more

Having read the reviews I almost wondering whether I was smelling the same scent as the other reviewers! This iris isn't rooty or strong on me at all, and I normally run a mile from anything described as masculine or unisex! On me Iris Bleu Gris is a lovely clean iris and leather scent - almost an iris version of Jolie Madame. It has a bergamot topnote and then I get mainly iris, jasmine …Read more

not at all bad, just not the mens iris i have been looking for. i went from creeds green irish tweed, unwearably AWFUL, to different companys bois d'iris; nice enough but too fleeting and "clear" like most of jean claude elenas creations. iris bleu gris is a big time chypre which is fine on its own terms, but maybe with other notes. OAK MOSSY all the way, vaguely reminisent of grey …Read more

Iris Bleu Gris is one of my holy grail iris scents. It is not a light rainbow colored iris in a sunny spring garden. It's an earthy, cool, metallic iris that is along the lines of SL's Iris Silver Mist, only this iris is farther into the forest, hidden in the darkest shadows and surrounded by deep woods and moss. It is an iris which is blended with a fine, rich leather and …Read more

Maitre Perfumeur et Gantier Iris Bleu Gris (for men)- This edt goes on just like freshly mowed lawn, a calming soft and balsamic green. Then a lovely candy sweetness begins to surface and the scent of the true iris pushes through. There is an uncanny likeness to the real flower but the perfume isn't quite as fresh, as churchy fresh, as the real thing. (You know how a church smells when you …Read more

I received a sample of this
iris fragrance, and when I first
put it on, I'd swear it was a cross between AG eau de Sud and
Hermes Hiris, but that quickly
morphed into something else, and
later settled into a clean and
civilized predominantly *spearmint* impression. I didn't get much of the leather others have spoken about.
I think Iris Bleu Gris …

The only reason I gave this fragrance a two was because the sample smelled so great. After I ordered the full bottle (dumb me), I nearly choked on the stuff. It didn't matter whether I used a little or a lot, it was WAY too strong and throat-closingly nasty. This is not to say some guys won't like it. It's just not for me.

Nice notes of leather, iris and woods. Good fall fragrance, but just a touch too masculine for me.
