While I (luckily) don't have any wrinkles or fine lines to speak of around my eyes, I've been thinking lately that it might be time to invest in a good eye cream to keep things that way (hopefully) as well as alleviate the irritation and tightness I get from my eye allergies.

Since I'm conscious of what I put on my skin, I wanted something natural with as few additives, dyes, perfumes and chemicals as possible. While I use LUSH moisturizers on the rest of my face (Gorgeous, Celestial or Vanishing Cream depending on the state of my skin from day to day), I wasn't impressed with their Enchanted Eye Cream, so I had to find a new brand to try out. Browsing Sephora's natural/organic section, I stumbled on Bieux Skin's Advanced Eye Treatment Cream and decided to give it a shot if for no other reasons than that the ingredients were ones I was comfortable with and the description mentioned that it helps with dark undereye circles (a big problem for me).

Let me start off by saying that this stuff is pricey as you only get a small tube for $59. But you don't need much, so I imagine it's going to last quite a while. I probably use a small blob half the size of a grain of rice under my eyes and a full grain on the lids. One of the best things about the packaging on this cream is that it has a very small, pointed tip that lets you squeeze a tiny amount out without worrying about too much coming out or it going everywhere. The texture is thick when it comes out of the tube, but it melts into the skin with the gentlest of pressure.

Since I don't have any wrinkles and no real fine lines (there's some very faint creases that have been there for forever, but I wouldn't call them fine lines, it's more a matter of that being how the skin under my eyes looks naturally), I can't really say whether this eye moisturizer would work well for anyone with those issues. What I can say is that using this layered over a drop of argan oil (I use Josie Maran's version, but there are generic versions all over the internet these days) leaves my eyes comfortable, moisturized and less puffy looking. And--I never thought these words would come out of my mouth--my dark circles have dramatically improved.

Normally I'm a complete skeptic about anything that promises to rid me of them since I've had them since middle school, but even I can't deny that they've lightened up a lot since I started using my argan oil/Bieux Skin Advanced Eye Treatment Cream combo. I still have shadows under my eyes (thanks to my eyes being somewhat deep-set and hooded), but the actual bruise-like rings that always made me look sick and sleep-deprived are fading. I imagine that those results may not be "normal" in spite of what the highfalutin statistics on the packaging would have you believe (75% reduction in 30 days), so your mileage may vary on that front.

So far I'm really liking this eye cream. It's expensive, but I don't mind paying for something that works for me and doesn't irritate my very sensitive eyes (I have both sensitive skin and eye allergies). I've had zero irritation as well as good results (although time will tell whether it'll prevent me from developing fine lines/wrinkles), so I think I may have found the right eye cream on the first try.

PROS: (1) paraben, silicone, fragrance, phthalate, dye and cruelty free; (2) a little goes a long way; (2) doesn't feel greasy or heavy on my eyes; (3) moisturizes well; (4) I'm seeing a big difference in my undereye circles using this layered over argan oil; (5) no irritation to my sensitive eyes/skin; (6) hygienic, easy to control tip.

CONS: (1) expensive; (2) very small tube.

CAVEAT: I can't say whether this eye cream is useful in correcting fine lines and wrinkles yet as I don't really have any yet to look for improvement in.
