I 'm also a Fracas hater, indeed I hate traditional tuberose, too feminine, too creamy and sweet that make me nauseous. This one I wanted to try because I love Fleurs d 'Oranger and I was...

Smoke, listerine, vicks vapo-rub? Is this the wrong thing? How can this have a 60% approval rating? Ok, calm down. I'm waiting out the storm to find that hey, it's not bad! I would say compared to...

(spoken in Elvis voice) Whoooaaaa, MAMA! After reading my darling Christian's excited chatterings about this, I just had to try it, too. If Chris likens this perfume to Marilyn Monroe not wearing...

This was the biggest surprise of all the Serge Lutens fragrances I've tried. I've always assumed tuberose was a poisonous ingredient for me. I'm a big-time Fracas-hater. This is the first time I...

Well, the top notes of this fragrance aren't TERRIBLE. Sort of reminiscent of a methanol, band-aid-y type of smell. Weird, yes, but torturesome, no. So what most people discount this fragrance...

Part of me has always wondered about the 'genius' of the SL - is it the exclusivity of the fragrances more than the actual scents that matter? The idea of 'we want what we cannot have' or at least...

I don't know.... real tuberose does have a rubbery-medicinal smell in addition to its powdery floral. I find this pretty close to the real thing.

I do get the menthol note, but on my skin it smells like peppermint and it adds an interesting freshness to the tuberose, which is the closest thing to real tuberose I have ever encountered.

There has been enough pontificating about this fragrance, so I will keep my review short: I simply love Tuberose Criminelle. The glacial menthol notes are a brilliant foil for the white-hot...

The tuberose can be found elsewhere, without the menthol. Why, why, why mix menthol with tuberose? It may be exclusive, it may be expensive, but does that mean it's good? In this case: no.

This is one of the few Lutens I like. It does smell of menthol when you first apply but it morphs into a gently creamy tuberose - and what at that! One tiny drop lasts for several hours and I...

I call this "The Absurd and the Sublime." The opening is so absurd that you can't help but comment. However, on my skin, the strongest phase of this spearmint, menthol note is extremely short-lived...

What hits you first here isn't tuberose, but a piercing bandaid note somewhere between hospitals and sarsaparilla. This plays against the lush creamy ylang-dominated heart, cutting through its...

I do not like tuberose and I never have. Yet I have gone MAD for this perfume! One tiny drop is all it takes. Be sure you are strapped in--the menthol launches this powerful fragrance like a...

This scent is sickeningly sweet. It really made me nauseous. I tried the wax sample, and wanted to wash it off as soon as it hit, because I really felt like I would be sick. And it stayed with...

This was very expensive, since I had to go to Paris to get it (darn!). However, it is so luscious. I love the weirdness at first because it makes the dry down to creamy, pure tuberose all the more...

Definite menthol-meets-a-Band-Aid note about its opening, but while it was unique, I didn't find it overly mind-blowing strange. Quickly calmed down to its tubereusey roots, but not as heady as...

OK, this reminds me vaguely of Fleurs D'Oranger; I think the tuberose may be of the same origin. It dries down to a pretty, green tuberose on me after an initial mentholated burst. I really like...
