Medium-fair yellow toned skin. This is the perfect contour color for me; better than bronzer which can be too orange. A matte greyish brown, this mimics the hue of natural shadows on the face and gives it more dimension. For the price and lasting quality, this will be a mainstay in my makeup bag.

I've been on a hunt for a contour colour for a long time... and finally I found NYX Powder Blush in Taupe. I'm quite pale with a peachy-pink undetone, so everytime I tried a bronzer, they were all too warm for my complexion. I was advised to try NYX's Taupe blush as a contour colour. It looks absolutely gorgeous on my skin, it's cool toned and not orange at all, which is great! It's quite pigmented, so be careful when applying. It defines my cheekbones like a dream. I recommend to everyone with cool toned, pale skin. Works great!

I pined over this blush forever, but when I finally got my hands on it, it turned out to be such a dud. I'm very warm and I think this is just too cool-toned for me. It looks like I got punched in the cheeks when I wear it. I also don't like how poorly it blends. It's so splotchy no matter how much I blend.

This is a contouring product, before we even get down to it; unless you have a certain type of cool, midtone olive complexion, I would strongly advise against approaching it like any other blush. Because this stuff upholds its no-BS colour name. My thing is to use it on fluffy shadow brush, lightly outlining the hollows of my cheekbones and sides of my nose, then take a clean blush brush to buff it in. Then I’ll work a highlighter into my cheeks and down the bridge of my nose. Highlighting and contouring is major right now, from what I've seen on the runways, so if I’m having a good skin day and don’t feel like blinding anyone with colour, this’ll be my “statement“ makeup.

The ONLY color my pale skin can contour with. Amazing. It brings out the hallows and is competely matte. No orangey, shimmery, your face looks dirty look here. It blends out wonderfully, I don't look like I have stripes. My local Harmon didn't carry the shade, so I ordered it from NYX's website.

After scouring through Ulta and small stores I knew sold NYX, I finally found this color and bought it. I have to admit, solely because of the good reviews, I was tempted to buy two of these without even trying it on, but after trying this color to contour, I wished I had bought 2 more. What can I say, the color is absolutely perfect! THIS IS A CONTOUR COLOR, not an orange toned bronzer or blush that would make you look like a hot mess. For the longest time I've struggled finding what would be the perfect color to contour with. And oftentimes I was still stuck with that annoying orange streak no matter how neautral or cool tone my supposed contour shadow or bronzer was. This simply had that ashy cool tone color that is similar to my natural shadows, so I know I won't go wrong with this shade. No orange streaks here, baby! Heading back to get my 2 backups.

I'd practically given up on finding this blush & finally caved & ordered it from an online site. Where I live grocers don't carry the NYX line & there is no nearby ULTA; but when I did make it to one, this was never in stock. Am I ever glad I persisted! This is the perfect matte, cocoa contour for pale ladies like me (NC15). Taupe gives my cheekbones instant definition & it doesn't need to be built up to see an immediate result. It can look harsh if not blended well but wears evenly throughout the day with minimal fading. For its small pricetag, I will definitely purchase another if the opportunity presents itself. I know a winner when I see one.
