This is a deep plum/violet colour. Like with most Dior polishes, one fairly thick coat is enough to give opaque cover to the nails. I loved the colour - with one coat, it was almost black indoors, but in sunlight or strong artificial light the plum undertones came through quite well. Drying time was extremely quick (maybe because I only needed 1 coat). Seche Vite base coat, Dior colour followed by Essie "Good to Go" top coat. Lasted about a week before I noticed some chipping.

I am not an avid consumer of polishes but I do like my nails to be covered with high end stuff :o)
So all in all I do not own more than 15 shades of polish - and I only managed to finish completely 2 of them in my whole life (both dark colours, one was YSL brun Tornado an dthe other an old Lancome).
However, I was recently presented with the new Dior Fall 2008 makeup (I received almost all items in the collection), and I got also this nail polish.
It is really beautiful, similar to Rouge Noir (Chanel).
Mystic Violine, as the name suggests, has a purple undertone that reveals only if you go lightly with one coat. Being myself a 2 or 3 coats girl, on my nails it turns very very dark, almost black.
I wish it had a warmer undertone on the red side, as the purple makes it quite cold.
Other than that it is an excellent polish, of the highest quality.... and the must have colour for this season, I am told!
