As the others said, Apple Red is pigmented. My first ever red blush, debated between NARS' Exhibit A and this. This was slightly cheaper so I decided to give this a try. Looks intimidating but with the right brush and light swipe, gives my light Asian skin a healthy flushed look. Only drawback is that its only available at PRO stores (went to the big one along Robson St. after going to …Read more

This is a VERY pigmented blush! On my NW45/NC50 skintone, it shows up the same colour as it does in the pot. RED!
You need a very light hand and a good brush to blend, blend, blend! The colour is beautiful on darker skintones. A great addition to your blush palette if you dont have it.

Great Blush! gorgeous red, perfect for my NC50 skin tone. I don't look over the top when applied, a nice flush I'd definately buy this again.

Great blush!!! It's a very pretty red color. Looks bright red in the pan and it's definitely not for the faint of heart. I have NW45-50 skin and this color looks great on my skin tone. I love it and will definitely purchase again. The price wasn't that bad for me because I have a MAC pro card.

at first glance Apple Red is RED like a fire engine lol. this color is so pretty though with a 187 brush it works magic. the color payoff is not completely red, i actually find myself with more of a pink tone color payoff. however the color is beautiful. this blush is very soft and is a satin and has great pigmentation. i love the pretty flush it leaves on my skin. when wearing this blush its …Read more

Apple Red is a pretty true red in the pan, but with some pink that shows up more on my brush and on my skin. This is a pro blush (but fairly easy to obtain) and quite pigmented. The finish is Satin, meaning this is not shimmery, no shimmer visible on the face, but not as flat as a matte.
I'm sure Apple Red is lovely on deep skintones. Lighter skintones should not overlook this. I …

Okay, I now own three MAC red powder blushes: Apple Red, Flame Red and Frankly Scarlet.

I just opened Apple Red, and haven't actually used it yet, but I think it may turn out to be my favorite of the three.
To simplify things a bit, these are my thoughts on Apple Red as compared to:

FRANKLY SCARLET: Apple Red is essentially a …
