i bought this product to help with dark spots i wanted to fade a little faster. i wanted the green but the store was out of them so i let the sales lady talk me into the red. she said it was more complete and it would take of the dark spots plus general stuff. the sales ladies also told me to use it every day which i mostly do. let me works!! i did a bit of research on light therapy and lydster65 was very helpful when i e-mailed her with questions. i seriously have noticed a big difference in my dark spots (my primary issue). i try to use it every night while i'm lying in bed (nice long cord). i see no reason for me to get the green. i'm very happy with the red. if the blue is as effective for acne as the red is for dark spots then i'd recommend that one too, fortunately right now my acne is under control. i should add that i use good skin care products and i'm really trying to take better care of my skin, that said we all need a little help and for me this is worth it. it's expensive but then i compare the price to (1) the cost of facials and (2) the benefits i have received and it's worth it to me. i got mine at nordstrom but if you can wait to get it in the mail i found it almost $20 cheaper on-line. i'd love to see others post results if they have used it.

UPDATE April 19, 2008 - results are in - YES! I really like this and I am delighted that I took a chance on it. I am now seeing noticeable results, and I'm very pleased! I first read about it in New Beauty magazine, and I really trust their reviews so that's why I decided to try this out. My lines definitely look softer, a little more plump and filled in. I think that my skin overall is a bit more tight. This is the sort of therapy that promises ongoing results, because it stimulates collagen production (apparently!) and so they say you will see ultimate tightening results in three to six months (I guess after the collagen has built up again..?). So I'm interested to see how that goes!

My other issue is that I have a couple of "sun spots" that I HATE! I am a freckle-face, but a couple of my freckles have started to blend into bigger blotches. ICK! So I am considering getting the Marvel Mini Green, which is supposed to fade dark spots and I think heal little broken capillaries (I have a couple around my nose). But I have to say, I think that the Red light has faded my sun spot marks a bit too! So I'm going to wait and see, maybe I will get enough fading with the Red that I won't get the Green (but to tell you the truth, I am very pleased with the Red so I think eventually I will get the Green!).

The rest of my comments here are my initial ones when I got the unit, beginning on March 17, 2008:

"I just received my Marvel Mini hand held L.E.D. light therapy unit. The red LED is supposed to treat fine lines and wrinkles - there is also a green one for hyperpigmentation and age spots, and blue for acne. In a nutshell, the light is supposed to penetrate to "active" skin layers and stimulate collagen production, by increasing blood flow to cells.

The product comes with a protocol for use - basically the treatment begins at twice a week for 24 minutes each session, for eight weeks. After that, I think it may be just left to "touch ups" when necessary (haven't gotten that far yet!).

I completed my very first treatment tonight (March 17). After one treatment, my face feels a bit tingly and tight, but not at all in an unpleasant way. I do think that I can see a difference in my skin tone, after one treatment - my eyelids actually look less "slack", and the corners of my mouth seem to be smoothed out a bit. It's as if my skin has plumped up a tiny bit. This could all be my imagination but I'm pretty critical of my skin, and I really do think I see a difference!

I will update my review in a month, when I am halfway through the treatment protocol, and again at the end. So far, I'm excited and if this does anything close to what it is supposed to, then I think $225 is worth it. "

"UPDATE on April 2/08 - hmm. Well, as of right now, halfway through the treatment protocol that came with the unit, I'm actually not sure I see any difference after all. BUT I'm not completely discouraged for three reasons: 1) I am hyper-critical of the lines on my face right now, as I've already said; 2) comments and reviews about red light therapy in general suggest that the "collagen building" effects may take time, in fact the ultimate results may not be apparent for up to six months; and 3) I read of another suggestion for treatment on the web tonight - basically up to six minutes of light directly on "trouble spots" each day. So, I'm going to continue on with the "24 mins. twice a week" thing for one more month, PLUS I'm also going to do six minutes each day on my "11" lines between my eyebrows, and also on each corner of my mouth (where I feel I'm starting to show the first signs of sagging - horrors!). "

I will keep you all posted! (sorry this is so long, but I do want to do a thorough review).
