Laura Mercier Brilliant Eyeliner comes in a tiny bottle with a cap that screws off. You have to use a fine-tipped brush to reach in and then apply the product to your eyes. Note, you do not get a brush when you purchase this. (Buy one separately or use one you already have). I use my bent-angle brush from Benefit. The Golden color is a metallic true gold, like molten gold liquid. It dries quickly, so it only smudges of you apply it too thickly. I've found that applying two thin coats works better for a dramatic look than trying to do it in one thick line. Once on, it lasts all day/night without smudging or fading. Sometimes I like to apply it over black eyeliner to bring out the gold in my hazel eyes. These have been DC'd, but I hope LM will include some LE versions in seasonal collections. I would happily buy these in other colors.

I love the texture and consistancy of this eye liner, i dont have it in the golden color but do have it in violet, onyx, cobalt, and bordeaux! I love love love it. although the bottle is prefered it makes it easier if you use your product from the small pot in the cap. I use LM flat eyeliner brush with this product because it makes it more precise! I use one of these everyday sometimes on top of black caviar eyeliner! they are beautiful and subtle! I am very impressed and prefer eyeliner done with a brush over a pencil, felt tip, or loose brush anyday! so this product made my transition from cake and cream liners very easy! Its user friendly if you know what youre doing!!

I agree with the reviewer who wrote the review on this same product, but in a different color (Onyx). This product is a serious disappointment to me, and I regret the purchase. At $22 just for a small jar of liner- NO APPLICATOR- I find this to be a serious rip-off. You can view a picture of this Brilliant Eyeliner on the Laura Mercier.com website, but my description of this is as follows: it comes in a small jar, much like a nail polish bottle. Only difference is, the bottle has no little brush attached to the cap- unlike the majority of similar products of its kind by other brands. Laura Mercier tries to sell you their fine-point eye liner brush separately to coordinate w/ the liner... for a mere $24. So the bottom line is, in order to use this eyeliner... if you don't have a similar brush in your stash... just for ONE bottle of eyeliner and the brush to apply it will cost you $46-- PLUS TAX. Almost $50 for a bottle of eyeliner... can you believe it??? What is Laura Mercier thinking?? All folks have a Money Tree in their backyard that sprout $50 bills? Yikes! How many hours would most people have to work in order to afford a jar of this and the brush? It's just eyeliner, and an average one at that! Okay, I'll stop about the price... :o) *** On to the review! The color of Golden is very pretty swiped on the back of your hand. It appears to be almost a khaki-gold, similar to MAC's Liquidlast liner in Dress Khaki. The color is actually very pretty, and that is what suckered me into the purchase! But once I got this home and applied it... I could barely see the line under my eyes. I had to keep going over it to give it depth, and then the line kept getting thicker. I don't like thick liner under my eyes, so I really didn't like it once it was on. One positive note about this product is that it does not budge all day, and it is not easily remove with facial soap and water. You really have to work at it to get if off! So if anyone is looking for a longwear eyeliner, has disposable income and their own eyeliner brush, this might be worth looking into for you.Personally, I have only used mine twice (and will probably never use it again); because it is too much of a hassle for me to apply. I don't like using a fine-point liner brush to apply my liner, I prefer a slanted brush. The 2nd time I used this, I used the fine-point brush to get the product out of the jar, then stroked it on my slanted brush, and it did apply much nicer under my lashes. However... who has the time to dirty TWO liner brushes... then you have to wash them both... all to apply some liner under your eyes? What a hassle! The neck of the bottle is too narrow to allow any other type of brush- but a fine point- to get inside the jar! This eyeliner is definitely more trouble than what it's worth-- trust me!So... if you are looking for a longwear eyeliner, I would recommend a gel liner (Bobbi Brown, MAC, Paula's Choice, etc.) way before I'd recommend this type of liner by LM. If you like a longwear liquid liner, MAC's Liquidlast liners are also far superior to LM's Brilliant Eyeliner. Why are they superior? Because MAC's Liquidlast liners are 1) cheaper, 2) come in more colors, and 3) THEY COME WITH A BRUSH, LAURA!!! ;oD continued >>
