Eggplant (mine is a matte, in the gold tube) is highly pigmented, and quite dark, so you have to be careful when applying (mistakes are very obvious), but it's a beautiful deep plum/purple that applies well. Not actually a matte finish (more creamy), but then, none of the Jordana matte seem to actually be matte.
Has the Jordana chocolatey scent, rather than the berry one.

I love Jordana lipsticks (Blackberry is my staple - I buy them in bulk). Eggplant was waxy and hard to spread. I couldn't work with it but wondered if maybe holding it in my hand to warm it up (uhmmm....when at home I sometimes put a lipstick or chapstick in my bra to warm it up while walking around getting ready for work. Is that just TMI?) might have made it softer and easier to work with. A lovely lady online reviewed Blackberry and Eggplant and she said, for a woman of color, it was no contest because the Eggplant had the right oomph and intensity.

Nice color, application is good, but the formula seems a bit "thin" so it doesn't spread the best; but a lip brush helps somewhat. This is a dark red w burgundy undertones, a gr8 fall/winter color, would look gr8 w a smoked out eye, this color calls for heavy makeup. I got mine at kmart. The packaging works but the gold tube looks cheap. This lipstick would be awesome on WOC. I don't have a lipliner for it yet.

Dark, pinkish purple. weird chocolaty smell. Application is uneven and doesnt blend, just smudges. even for $1 there are better lipsticks. The color is nice, and if you like it maybe you could get it to work for you. maybe blend a dab of the lipstick with some balm for a sheer pretty color, or maybe if you had a lip brush you could see if you could apply it evenly.
