Well just read loolyooly's review. She covers the perfume perfectly . I reallydon't have any other comment to do.The glorious combination of rose and rich spicy and slightly herbal saffron is extremely well balanced. Both the elements stay true embrace one another in ambandon.the vanilla drydown is also addictive.L'Artisans staying power is a well known disadvantage but Safran …Read more

I’ve seen many on the fragrance board say this is their favorite in the spice trio, but I prefer Piment Brulant. Having said that, anything I've tried that's even remotely similar to Andy Tauer's L'air du Desert Marocain has been a little disappointing since I tested that one and fell in love with it. I rarely go wild over any of the notes (rose, jasmine, cedar, amber …Read more

I really love saffron and had great expectations when I tried this scent. Unfortunately, it smells like smoked sausage on me. Honestly. I like to eat smoked sausage, but smelling like it? It would leave me perpetually hungry and probably blow my already opulent figure out of any proportion, since food is one of the things I find hard to resist. Apart from the fact that the smoked sausage note …Read more

Absolutely lovely, but doesn't shout about it. BasiaS's comment about creamy-milky is exactly right. Reminds me of Indian rice pudding with aded rose water and saffron. I can detect the merest hint of cardamom too, but I may be imagining it. No sandalwood on me at all. I love this, and, hallelujah, so does DH -- I think because it presses all the right man-buttons (slightly vanillaish …Read more

I live in a tropical country where practically everyone's so paranoid about having BO that during summer, they shower two or three times a day. So, to avoid having anyone think I have even a hint of BO there are 5 perfume notes I must avoid at all costs: 1) cumin, 2) cardamom, 3) nutmeg, 4) animalic musks, and 5) saffron. For ONCE, I am thankful that L'Artisan is so sheer because I …Read more

It is indeed a very light and wearable gourmand scent. It is unique, very unusual. Safran Troublant is warm and sweet, but not overly sweet. The safran note gives the scent a nice oriental touch. The fragrance does remind me of some indian desserts, maybe icecream. The scent though is very subtle, it doesn't scream: spices!! subtle and delicate. Those two notes, safran and vanilla, are the …Read more

There are more reviews for this under Les Epices de la Passion - Gold Philtre. A pretty mix of vanilla, saffron, sandalwood and some rose. Overall, this is gentler than Agent Provocateur, and more wearable for those who do not love saffron (I'm not a huge fan of the note but I love AP nonetheless). At times the fragrance reminds me too much of this Indian spice store I used to go to when I …Read more

Extreme sweetness. Like syrup. Vanilla Gourmand. And it lacks even a pretense of character.

Safran Troublant is a very unusual scent, something I've come to associate with L'Artisan Parfumeur. This EDT is absolutely perfect for fall. It's extremely strange and spicy on first smell, kind of medicinally sweet or something. Then, after a few minutes saffron comes through loud and clear, along with a bit of rose, then mellowing out sweetly into a honeyed spicy vanilla that is …Read more
