Love/hate relationship! This is the most gorgeous duochrome lavender with a blue shift but it's very frustrating to work with. Be prepared to layer several layers to get the color to show up as a lid. It's easier as a highlighter or used over a pinkish shadow to give it some background without overwhelming the light lilac tint. Worth the effort to work with but I wish they'd …Read more

Asphyxia doesn’t do much for me. The color is so beautiful in the pan, but it has almost no pigmentation when applied. I like it better when applied with neutrals rather than by itself. Maybe I need to try it wet, I just expected better quality from UD.

Not for ME! Perhaps its my complextion or skin tone. I'm an NC30/NC35 and NC38 in the summer.

The texture isn't my favourite, it's not soft. As for the colour it is a grungy colour, i don't like the pigment. I thought the eyeshadow in the pan would be a duo-chrome. I found it was just acidic mauve and it took several applications to get the colour to show up. I …

As far as eyeshadow quality goes, Urban Decay is one of the best. They are a cruelty-free company, so I purchase a lot of my makeup from them for that reason. I have had this eyeshadow for a few months now, and I find myself reaching for it a lot. I have fair skin with freckles and green eyes, and this color flatters my skin tone (which is rare) and brings out my eyes. It is pretty light, but it …Read more

I wanted so much to like Asphyxia...purple is my favorite color, but THIS purple just wasn't working with my complexion. I'm very fair-skinned, dirty blonde hair and brownish-green eyes. I literally looked like a clown getting ready to go perform at a kids birthday party. :( I've already taken it back to Ulta and picked up something that worked better for me. It's still a …Read more

I agree with previous reviews saying that you can't even tell you're wearing this. It is such a beautiful color in the pan but on the lid it isn't noticeable at all. I have olive skin and tried everything to make this show up, nothing. I'm very disappointed in how sheer this color goes on. I only knew I was wearing it because I put it on.

I love this eyeshadow. I normally use neutrals but I'm bored with that so I decided to give this a try. It's GORGEOUS. I don't have any problems with this showing up at all and it lasted all day. I did use a little Too Faced Shadow Insurance first so that might have something to do with it. I like to pack this on the lid and then use black eyeshadow on the outer crease, …Read more

I got Asphyxia in UD's Wallpaper Palette, and its my favorite color in the palette. It's this gorgeous shimmering lavender, which a gorgeous bluish iridescence. I wish the color pay off was better, but I think if it was more pigmented, it wouldn't be as easy to wear for every day use, which is what I like to do once in a while to step up my normally neutral look. If you layer it on …Read more

Maybe I'm crazy (or maybe the formula has changed as I bought mine a few years - at least - ago) but I dug this out today feeling "springy". Noticed in the reviews here that it's like Grifter minus the glitter?? Mine has a ton of silver glitter/sparkles in it (hence, a ton of fallout!). Very little color payoff - lotsa fallout. Was considering buying Grifter but if …Read more

We've got a winner, ladies! In general I steer away from eye shadows significantly lighter than my skin tone (I tend to feel that they wash me out), but I'v been trying to find a day-look different from my normal neutral look. This is beautiful on my green eyes - makes me look so awake and fresh! I put it at Ulta and when I checked out the SA couldn't stop staring at my eyes at …Read more
