Typically this is for after-surgery healing. Its supposed to get rid of scars and redness/irritation etc. I bought this to smooth-out expression lines/fine lines etc. (or to prevent them -im only 22) Although the concentrate isnt as 'miraculous' as la Mer claims, it does get rid of fines lines completely. I admit I did have some fine lines under my eyes (probably from tanning) and the concentrate smoothed them out completely. It is extremely thick and doesnt exactly absorb into the skin, but if you have the money, and dont mind a heavy feeling product on your face at night -I recommend trying this. p.s. it lasts a very long time (over a year).

I love La Mer's face serum and oil absorbing lotion and have used them loyaly for the past 3 years. As a fan of La Mer, I shill out the $290 when the concentrate was launched in US. I must say I'm very disappointed. The concentrate is targeted for those after laser surgery or chemical peel. I did chemical peel once per month so I'm hoping that it will enhance the healing. Unfortunately, I didn't notice improvement whatsoever. Unlike the face serum which sink into the skin immediately, the concentrate is sitting on top. It is true that the concentrate can leave your skin soft and smooth, however the effect is less natural than the serum which sink in. I can clearly feel that there is a film of silicon sitting on my skin and suffocate it. I also discover that my face has more tiny blackheads which develop over a period of 4 weeks when using it everynight comparing with using the face serum. Those blackheads ain't large enough to cause breakouts thou. When talking about the healing properties of this, I much prefer the original cream de la mer. I did try to suse CDLM on one side of the face and concentrate on the other side. Over a period of 1 weeks just after the chemical peel, I love the side using CDLM more, a heavier glow on that side. Please note that I don't use CDLM regularly as it will eventually break me out. I also notice that the concentrate is not as soothing and healing as CDLM. CDLM and face serum is the original product bu Max Huber, the rest of La Mer line is by Estee Lauder scientist....I honestly think that the rest of the line are hype. Right now I don't even have desire to finish the remaining 50% of the concentrate and put it up for swap. If you want to spend money, spend it on the serum, oil absorbing lotion or CDLM. The concentrate is defintely not on the list.Edit Feb 27, 2004: I used it to spot treat acne scar so I can finish up the bottle. As I apply it to concentrated on the spot and some neighboring skin, it cause breakout. So don't use too much.

PRICE: US$290.00 / 1.7oz I don't think I've ever paid so much for just a sample before, but I just HAD to try it out to see how it was :P Anyway, this stuff does go a long way, which is a good thing. My sample lasted me almost 2 weeks of regular use, but I tell ya, it's almost painful to use this because I think of how much each drop is worth ;) As much as I wanted/believed it would work, it really was like other high-quality serums out there. It made my skin smooth after application, like a thin layer of silicon. It works well, no doubt of it, but I don't think it quite justifies the high price tag. I don't really have scars or redness to get rid of, so it could be why it didn't work wonders for me.. but it hasn't *wowed* me enough on the first application to make me want to buy the full-size. continued >>

I'm surprised so far only 1 person has reviewed this! This product is a miracle. Yes, it's expensive at $290 for 1.7oz, but it's worth it. This is works wonders for NEW scars especially keloid scars. I recently have a C-section and I applied it where the scar is and it has reduce the appearance and the bumpiness of the scar tremendously. I tried it on my old scar on my forehead but it doesn't work there. La Mer Concentrate also works great on old acne scars and sun spots. It has lightened mine a lot.The texture is very velvety and I happen to like the smell of it too. This is the best La Mer product to me and I've tried all of La Mer products. I'm a big fan of La Mer. Thanks to La Mer, I now have normal pimple free skin. You just have to buy it to see the difference yourself. The sample will not be enough. You need at least 2-3 weeks to see the big difference.

Lordy! I got a very generous sample of this two weeks ago, and I must say that it is truly AMAZING! I want to say that the price tag is justified, considering how little product is neccessary. My skin is super-soft, any evidence of recent pimples is completely gone, and I've had no flakies what so ever. I'd also recommend this to persons with rosacea, as it almost immediately clears up any redness (I used it just after plucking, and suddenly everything was pristine and pale instead of red and puffy!). The sales woman told me that this was for use OVER foundation, which puzzled me, but I think it would work either way. I'll definitely be purchasing this!
