Estee Lauder Doublewear has got to be one of the most over rated foundations! Reviews online and all my friends raved about this foundation so I gave into all the hype. The first problem with this foundation is the colour range. I was matched with Ivory Nude which I'm pretty sure is one of the lightest shades however it was a weird orange/yellow shade on my skin. I have no idea who has this shade of skin tone? The second issue is that it has the worst texture I have ever seen. I have young, line free combination skin that is rectified with a good moisturiser however this foundation makes my skin look extremely dehydrated, shows fine lines I don't even have and makes my pores look HUGE.No matter if I use a buffing brush, foundation brush or damp sponge, it looks thick, powdery and cakey. From far away, it may look okay but close up it looks disgusting.I always know when somebody is wearing this foundation because it is so thick and cakey. The only positives I can think of is that it definitely is long lasting! I need to double cleanse to get this stuff off my face and thankfully it doesn't irritate or break my skin out.Overall, a very disappointing foundation that doesn't work with my skin at all! It makes me look awful, really cheap and nasty looking. I expected so much more. Maybe it works best for really oily skin? If you desperately want to try this foundation, I would recommend getting a sample as it is quite pricey. Needless to say, I'm still on the hunt for my HG foundation.

This foundation looks beautiful on the skin. I am very oily and this foundation did wonders, it stayed in place and it didn't oxidize. It is very thick but it blends out very nice and does not look cakey at all. Unfortunately it broke me out horribly mind you, I do not have sensitive skin and no other foundation had broke me out like this. I loved everything else about it so I kept trying to give it another chance, I would stop using it to let my face recover but as soon as I used it again it broke me out. I do recommend it because it's an amazing foundation if it doesn't brake you out.

I have quite dry and sensitive skin. I usually go for a lighter foundation but a small amount of double wear works really well for me. You can also build on your coverage, my go to on nights out. This foundation really does last all day. When being colour matched in Myer, I was impressed with the huge colour range available. The bottle in a little annoying to use, especially when low but it's packaging is quite nice. I paid $50, which I think is well priced for such a lovely foundation.

A solid "I made an effort today" foundation! Your skin looks poreless so you can tell you're wearing makeup, but in a lovely way. Would not recommend for dry skin -- can be a bit drying and can sink into fine lines. Use with moisturizer. Does not feel heavy and does not rub off on anything. Would recommend for a night out/special occasion due to the high price point.

I have bought this product before many times a few years ago and loved it so I am putting it down to buying it in a different country (or they have changed the formula) but it is so drying and sticks to any problem areas. It's very thick consistency which is obviously best for scarring and blemishes but actual active acne, stay away from it. It makes every little dry patch and lump and bump stick out. Was really hoping for something amazing, unfortunately not.

Okay, so, I NEVER write a review on anything. I had to come on here and write one about this foundation! This stuff is amazing. I have oily/combonation skin, which is prone to break outs. This is full coverage, matte, and it looks natural, like your actual skin. Also, it feels very light and it lasts all day. I've never had a foundation stay in place like that did and last so long! I'm super impressed! The only thing I'm not liking is that I'm pretty sure it's breaking me out, but, everything breaks me out. This is an amazing foundation. I hope it stops breaking me out.

After years and years of searching for a foundation that would stick and suited my skin, I finally found Estee Lauder Double Wear and haven't looked back (apart from a stint with NARS AWLF which was awful). I have combo skin, and whilst the foundation can stick a tad to the dry bits - I find a lot of foundations do this anyway - I can't really fault it in any other way. I'm colour Ecru, which can be a bit light on my skin if I have a tan going, but during the winter months its a good match. The foundation is pretty heavy, but I don't find it cakey in any way. Apply in small amounts and build it up and you should be grand. I can wear it all day and not need to touch it up - I've even woken up in the mornings with it still in tact! If you want full coverage and endurance, this is definitely a winner.

One of my favourite full coverage foundations. It lasts throughout the day on oily skin. The large shade range makes it easy to have a perfect match, which is really key with a full coverage foundation to not look cakey and unnatural. My only complaint is that the packaging can make it difficult to get all the product out once you get closer to the bottom.

I have been using Tarte Amazonian Clay foundation for at least a year now. But because i have SUPER oily skin... IT MELTS OFF after 6 hours of wear... but i loveeeee everything else about it, the colour (ivory fits me perfectly), coverage, texture, easy to apply (i use a beauty blender and it goes on like weeewwwww. on top of my usual skincare routine+primer) But i can't stand the meltED mess everytime i get home. TT and every time i blot my face or scratch a little bit of my forehead (because sometimes itchy), ABIT OF FOUNDATION COMES OFF. and my face would have a patch of raw skin there. (gross) So i tried ESDW. First, colour. It was soooo difficult to find a PERFECT IVORY shade for me. it's either too yellow too pinkish too dark. I gave in and bought 1C1. (and it was still way too pink for me. TT) Second, i tried to apply it on as how i would with Tarte. (with my beauty blender) AND OMG, CAKE FACE. i didn't have the time to remove it and reapply AGAIN (because i'm always late) so i left house with a cake face T.T (worse day of my life. but thankfully i'm a teacher so my children can't tell good makeup from bad ones Lol)The trick to put DW on is to put LITTLE BY LITTLE then build up (BUT NOT TOO MUCH). Use a BRUSH instead to blend it in your face and you can mix it with a moisturizer (like how i did it). omg soooo much better. it's lighter and i could build it up more. but Omg? it took damn long to set?!?! I don't use powder with my DW because cakey!!!!! so usually i'll wait. i left my house, took the train and omg? it was still setting on the train... but it DEFINITELY got better as the day goes by. my skin got radiant (as the oil came in), and when i got home after a long HOT HUMID day in school, my DW makeup WAS STILL IN CHECK, ON POINT. naise. i blotted my face after 6 hours of wear, and im SURPRISED. the make up DID NOT TRANSFER to my paper. PLUS, i tried scratching my forehead (trial), but it STAYED ON TOO. It didnt break me out badly, (though i have a little pimple on my chin after i wore DW for a few days straight Lol) but it was quite a pain to remove it ENTIRELY.Love love love the staying power. but that's about it. I still haven't decided whether i want to repurchase, i've been thinking about it since my first time applying it and yup... still thinking.

This is seriously my HG foundation. I've tried soon many drugstore liquid foundations and BB creams (Revlon's Nearly Naked, Revlon's ColorStay, L'Oreal's True Match, Garnier's BB Cream, Maybelline's Dream Fresh BB to name a few) and I barely liked them. I have really super extra oily skin so in just two hours my face became a disco ball with these foundations and bb creams. I really thought my disco ball face had no remedy so I continued using drugstore foundations and had to blot one or two times daily. But... One day I opened some drawers from my mom's restroom and I found Estèe Lauder's Double Wear foundation in Sand so I gave it a try. It was a lighter shade than my face but omg I loved it instantly! I seriously looked like if I was photoshopped but without looking cakey. I went to school that same day and outside was so hot. "My face is going to melt down and I will look like a hot mess" I thought. BUT NO. LIKE WTF. The foundation held my makeup for freaking 8 hours!!! And even when I arrived home, my face was almost flawless! I was so blown away. No other foundation has done that to my makeup. Since I was using nonstop my mom's foundation, she made me buy my own bottle. I bought Desert Beige which is a bit darker than Sand. So oily girls, please please please give this a try if no other foundation has worked for you. It has full coverage and it will hold your makeup for a long time. You will notice some oil in your face as time passes but instead of looking a mess, you'll look dewy. I'm in love!
