This is the classy, yet mysterious woman in the film noir who is instantly pegged as the murderer because she’s beautiful and slightly “off”. You later find out she is hiding a terrible secret that has nothing to do with the murder, maybe her twin sister drowned in Monte Carlo and she has stolen her identity in order to escape a lecherous suitor, or something like that. It smells of some sort of …Read more

I'd buy it, were it available.
I'm glad I got to try this, it's a beauty. The beginning is rather 'mature,' powdery, vanillic, full-bodied, like Shalimar.

It morphs quickly, on my skin, into a buttery, voluptuous incense that is very cultured. It's tastefully done, like what I wanted the Clive Christian line to smell like (but it failed). …

Purchased this fragrance while visiting London, and I love it. It is one of my favorites, as it has that lovely vanilla at the dry-down. This is a "mature" type scent. Perfect for someone my age!!!!

Odd. Wonderful. Nasty. Meditative.
I can't make my mind up. I sway between considering this the best incense frag (and I love incense frags) and finding it unrelentingly horrible. Upon spraying, I get a lot of anise and floral notes. Decaying floral notes. Sharpish amber, too. Not altogether pleasant and, dare I say it, it reminds me of badly cared for, dusty, incontinent old man. Not …

So far, the best Creed I have tried ( other decants were a huge disappointment to me) .

I have to agree with some other reviewer below to the statement that this creed may be one of their best creations (but I still need to test some more, though).
At first spritz, I was frightened: it stated spicy sweet and cloying but this first note (that I cannot really tell what it is) …

Despite its very lyrical sounding name, Angelique Encens has a very occult smell.

I am guessing this is the angelica that is imparting the scent of something an Elizabethan witch (like in MacBeth) might have used in her bubbling brew-- some dried forest herb like mugwort or Artemesia. If someone had passed me a sample of this without telling me that it was a Creed fragrance, I …

Hearing all the poetic reviews of Angelique Encens, I decided to purchase a decanter. Upon spritzing I was greeted to a beautifully mysterious and hauntingly complex fragrance with an air of wistful melancholy. If I had to personify this fragrance it would be Greta Garbo, the mysterious and elusive actress of the 1930's/1940's. The fragrance is a bit heady but I find that if I spray it …Read more

I'd buy again if I could get it in a bottle smaller than 8 oz. Am I supposed to bathe in this? It's not THAT nice. Okay, it's really really nice. Smoky and smooth at first application, strong civet (too bad) in the middle and dries down to a round, rich resinous amber. It's quite lovely and smells like old-style money. I can definitely see this as way way way too much in …Read more

So delicious! This is the first incense fragrance that I have loved, probably due to the vanilla and marzipan notes in it. Soft and not biting, but the incense is definitely in it.

Angelique Encens is a beautiful, refined soft scent - one of the few containing incense notes I can wear. It starts off quite smoky but soon melts into the skin, with only moderate sillage, and lasts well. I don't find it particularly floral, although there is certainly some rose in there; the main notes on me are vanilla and amber, with the incense always in the background. As it dries …Read more
