I am really in love with this bad boy. Granted I have no idea what a pomegranate smells like in the perfume world so I will not base my review off of that. This is the most beautiful clean scent with a hint of floraly warmth. Kind of soapy but with more body and a slight tanginess that adds sophistication. So feminine and so alluring. Perfect for any occasion and really any season. I love the …Read more
Sadly, not as unique as it once was-- too many similar alternatives on market today.
In the days before niche fragrances exploded, there was low-end Vanilla Lace (Victoria's Secret), drugstore Vanilla Musk (Coty), and not many high-end, luxe quality vanillas. That's where I Profumi found their niche with this upscale, pure madagascar vanilla fragrances (Comptoir Sud Pacifique …Read more
I find this scent to be intensely cloying. It smells like a cheap, tropical vanilla candle and a whiff of bug spray and smoke. The overly sweet, waxy vanilla mixed with the syrupy myrrh is too much for me. There's a little bit of smokiness, but it doesn't cut through the sweetness nearly enough. I also catch a hint of something fruity smelling. Oddly, my husband has complained …Read more
I was expecting Zenzero to just be a sickly sweet mess after reading the other reviews, but it smells great to me. I don't find it to be cloying at all (Vaniglia del Madagascar is intensely cloying on me, but the floral tones in this seem to keep it from turning too sweet). It is sweet, but not overly so, and it doesn't smell burnt or syrupy to my nose.
This goes on like sweet …Read more
"Patchouli in all its original regal glory. With notes of myrrh, cedar wood and spice, this sumptuous perfume will cloak you in seductive mystery all winter long."
I used to love patchouli in all forms (even the cheap, headshoppy patchouli oils), but I'm really picky about it these days and tend to shy away from the dirtier, heavier, motor oil-esque types. Reminiscence …Read more
Notes of sea salt, bergamot, lemon, lime and watermelon.
I don't wear many citrus or fruity scents, but I wanted to try this for the unusual sea salt and watermelon notes, and I'm really glad that I picked this up.
I expected Brezza di Mare to be a blast of sharp citrus notes, but it's actually a rather mellow, smooth fragrance. It smells like a beach with …Read more
"i Profumi di Firenze's cult bestseller Vaniglia del Madagascar now also comes infused with fresh fig. Jasmine, white musk and a hint of dark chocolate add to the deliciousness! Notes of vanilla orchid, fig, jasmine, white musk and dark chocolate."
I actually don't like Vaniglia del Madagascar (smells like cloying, burnt sugar and cheap suntan lotion on me), but I …Read more
Notes of frangipani, coconut, blood orange and frankincense.
Whenever I smell this, I think of laying on a tropical beach and staring up at a night sky full of stars.
It's a deep, romantic sort of tropical scent.
I don't smell the blood orange at all, but the frangipani and coconut blend together and smell like an expensive monoi oil (creamy, delicately sweet coconut …Read more
Aldehydic like Arpege, or is that the combination of Damascene rose and lily? Not sure. Definitely the same tarry rose smell somehow, dark, a little sticky, almost dirty. Interesting, but too formalized for daily wear. Might workj better as a night time scent. A bit too formal for me, and I've never quite settled with that strong aldehdic tar and rose feeling in perfumes. Otherwise …Read more
