I bought a selection of Claus Porto candles direct from the company as they were offering free shipping if you spent above a certain amount. Unfortunately I had not smelled this one prior to purchase. What a mistake. This candle has the most revolting, sickening smell. I should have known that the combination of lavender, iris, chamomile, linden blossom, cypress, rosemary and thyme would be a …Read more
I read a glowing review of this Acacia Tuberose candle on another website. I love the scent of tuberose, so I bought one for myself by mail order directly from Claus Porto without sampling it first. I have to say that I am very disappointed with this candle. It has very little fragrance and no throw whatsoever.
Claus Porto produce some excellent fragranced candles. Unfortunately this is not one of them. Condessa is supposed to smell of wild pansy. To me it has a rather cheap, astringent floral smell which I'm sorry to say is verging on the scent of lavatory cleaning products. I won't buy this again but it has not deterred me from trying some of their other candles.
This had a fairly strong fragrance when I first opened the box. This is an unequivocally green Vetiver frangrance with a somewhat soapy hint. When lit there is not much diffusion of the fragrance into the room; you have to sit right next to it for there to be any discernable smell.
I have to say I am rather disappointed with this soap. And unfortunately I have 4 other bars that came in the set to go through. I have no problem with the smell (although its very light) and the packaging is beautiful; my complaint with it is that I find it drying to the skin. I thought that it would "do" more, be more moisturizing, for the price it costs. But no....so I'll be …Read more
Candles - Claus Porto - Lysia
This is meant to be mimosa scented. I get a soft, sweet mimosa and a noticable gardenia note as well. The fragrance is a little artificial and soapy for my liking, but the throw is very satisfactory and packaging beautiful and of very good quality. I wouldn't buy again solely because the fragrance is not real enough compared to other makes of candles (especially the french brands). You …Read more
Candles - Claus Porto - Ilyria
This candle is supposed to smell of honeysuckle. The fragrance is actually rather soapy and artificial, maybe because the manufacturer is predominantly known for it soaps. This fragrance perhaps works in the manufacturer's soaps and other toiletries but it does not make a particularly satisfying scented candle. Other candles from this manufacturer smell good, for example the Almond …Read more
This is a very good candle. It has a lovely sweet almond fragrance that diffuses well throughout the room. It is larger and less expensive than other high end candles, yet easily surpasses many of them in quality and power of fragrance. The packaging is not only beautiful but also strong and high quality with a magnetized closure. I highly recommend this candle.
