Dry Shampoo -Batiste -Dry Shampoo

batiste is simply the best. affordable and in very cute packaging. i like the scented ones because the scent is subtle, but they smell amazing. this dry shampoo is great for absorbing excess oil in your roots and adding volume, even if your hair is extremely oily (as mine used to be). super easy to use; just spray a bit on your roots, work it in with your fingers, then brush/comb out your hair or style as desired. does not cause any stickiness or other buildup, your hair will look and feel totally natural. as someone with oily hair, i could not live without this product and i can't recommend it enough.

Treatments (Eye) -Simple -Revitalizing Eye Roll-On

This was an okay eye product, and I would give it a 3.5 overall if that was an option. My eyes are dark but not puffy or with distinctive “circles” - just a bit purple from allergies/dehydration.

This lightweight liquid was a good little pep for the eye area in the morning and again at night. It wasn’t overally tacky or thick but had enough consistency to it that I felt I wasn’t just putting on water. No irritation to the eyes or skin (and my skin is fairly sensitive) from application.

I felt it made my eyes look a little brighter in the immediate interim, though I doubt it would have resulted in any long term impact.

I can’t say for sure because about a week after I started using it, the rollerball tube mechanism stopped working or distributing any product. It may have just been a faulty one-off, or it could be a flaw with the line’s packaging. I can’t say, but either way, I didn’t get to continue use.

Lipstick -Clinique -Almost Lipstick - Black Honey

finally finished my first and last tube of this. the color is very flattering and i love the silky finish. very easy to apply without a mirror. however, it tends to go on patchy and has no staying power whatsoever. the packaging is hideous as well. black honey is not worth the price when you can just get a tinted lip balm for like $5.

Moisturizers -Neutrogena -Hydro Boost Gel-Cream Extra Dry Skin

I tried this moisturizer for a week. What I did was use a small amount and pat it on damp skin then lock everything in with my usual lotion/moisturizer. Result was pretty bad, skin was drier and tighter. Some redness and whiteheads appeared. I then tried using my usual moisturizer without adding the Hydro Boost Gel-Cream underneath for another week and the difference was noticeable. My skin wasn't dry or tight. It felt comfortable like it used to be before adding this product! So I'm now back to my usual routine.

Do take note I'm not using any active and it's the end of winter here but it's not that cold/harsh. Maybe this will work better during very hot/humid summer. But for me that's useless to use it for only one part of a season since I wouldn't be able to finish the whole jar. Honestly, I wouldn't repurchase as I noticed an increase of clogged pores/whiteheads and also the constant redness and skin that felt uncomfortable. This product didn't help with hydration at all. The texture of this moisturizer is the only positive thing as it glides on easily and absorbs well.

Ingredients: Water, Dimethicone, Glycerin, Cetearyl Olivate, Polyacrylamide, Sorbitan Olivate, Phenoxyethanol, Dimethicone/vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Synthetic Beeswax, C13-14 isoparafin, Dimethiconol, Carbomer, Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Chlorphenesin, Laureth-7, Sodium Hyaluronate, Ethylhexylglycerin, C12-14 pareth-12, Sodium Hydroxide

Stick -Bite Beauty -Multistick

I was never really into stick products, but I loved bite’s amuse bousche lipstick so I decided to try this. I got the color cashew and it’s a soft pink; I don’t use it on my eyes because I end up looking like I got pinkeye but it is pretty on the cheeks and lips. It feels a little more powdery compared to the amuse bousche on the lips, but the color payoff and staying power is as good. The lasting power is good and everything, but I prefer powder blushes because the application is more precise than if you use your fingers. I can use a brush because this is a cream-powder product, but in that case, I rather just stick to powder. I also tried cocoa as a contour and I have to say again that I prefer powder contour because this is rather difficult to blend.

Eye Shadow -Essence -2 in 1 Eyeshadow And Liner

Super pigmented, and extremely long lasting: when swatched on my arm they still showed on the next day.
Don't really understand why these are called 2 in 1 eyeshadow and liner, a shadow stick this big could never be used as liner. Bragging point should be their long lasting and creamy formula. I own the three lightest shades in the photo, 03 Light Me Up, 02 Peach Perfect, and 06 She's Got the Mauve. All three are great, Peach Perfect is a metallic/foil rose gold, Light Me Up is a sparkly white/ivory and She's Got the Mauve is not mauve but a metallic/foil cool-toned brown. Sadly, I'm pretty sure these are being discontinued, so grab them while you can.

BB Cream -InnisFree -Eco Natural Green Tea BB Cream

on 2/19/2018 1:41:00 PM

My new HG! It is gentle, has some spf and natural ingredients, doesnot contain silicones and does not break out my sensitive acne prone skin. I was using Laniege BB cream before which broke me out terribly. Im using this in place of my usual Biore sunscreen because the silicones were clogging my pores and the alcohol dried out my skin. Love this BB cream!

Eyeliner -Essence -Extreme Long Lasting Eye Pencil

I adore this liner. I wear it almost daily. I used to wear their previous Gel pencil formula, but it smudged like crazy and gave me raccoon eyes halfway through the day, so I ditched it. When they brought in their new inventory for the fall I decided to try their new liners and bought 06 Silky Nude and 05 Rockin' Taupe. I found they on perfectly and stay on with no smudging. I really recommend Silky Nude on the lower waterline for a 'bright eyes' effect; Silky Nude now replaces my NYX wonder pencil for that job. The only issue I have with this liner is that the packaging is kind of confusing, it doesn't look like you can sharpen it but you can. To me this liner is the absolute best liner you can buy.

My new HG! Very finely milled powder that does not break out my sensitive acne prone skin and keeps the shine away. Love it!

Sunscreen -Unlisted Brand -Mentholatum ACNES UV Tinted Milk SPF 50

I have super sensitive acne prone skin and this gave me pimples. I found it too oily and it felt like a film over my skin. I prefer Biore sunscreen but I had to stop using it because the silicones were clogging my pores. I stopped using sunscreen now even though its really sunny in hot and humid Singapore to give my acne time to recover. I only just started using Innisfree Eco BB cream (has spf) on special occasions now. It has no silicones and has not given me pimples. My new HG.

Moisturizers -Sukin -Sensitive Facial Moisturiser

I love the Sensitive skin cream cleanser and Normal hydrating toner from Sukin. Cheap and gentle with natural ingredients.
Im using this moisturiser to help heal my benzoyl peroxide allergic reaction facial disaster which gave me many deep painful cystic acne on my cheeks and 7 deep pimples on my nose.
I put on a thin layer on my entire face and dob generous amounts on the pimples to create a moisture barrier which seems to help it heal faster and not dry out leaving less scarring. But the moisturiser may also be too rich for my skin and giving me a few small pimples. Will keep using until I find another HG like my Sebamed Clear Skin Gel which has no side effects but was just not hydrating enough.

Mascara -Maybelline -Lash Sensational Mascara

This mascara is a good dupe for benefits roller lash which I love but it only comes in black. I purchase this in Black/brown for day time and I love it. The key is to remove some excess product in order for it to apply without clumps. It makes my (short , sparse lashes look very long , almost fake looking and I love the shape and two densities of the spikes. I also use a lash curler before and they stay curled for most of the day! :-) it is hard to remove at the end of the day. It doesn’t budge all day either. Requires a little extra time for removal (even thou I don’t buy the waterproof version) but since I’m so happy with the results it’s worth it for me. Be gentle when removing as to not remove your lashes!

Cleansers -Sukin -Sensitive Cleansing Gel

on 2/19/2018 1:17:00 PM

This review is for the Sensitive skin Cleansing Cream. Love it! My HG! It is gentle like cetaphil but does not give me clogged pores. It also does not sting my sensitive and acne prone face like the Physiogel cleanser. I usually double cleanse, first with an organic facial foam which can be drying, then with this to soothe and moisturise my skin. I then use the Sukin hydrating toner and Sensitive facial moisturiser. So much more affordable than my previous HG Dermalogica.

Toners -Sukin -Hydrating Mist Toner

Love this toner. Very calming and natural with only a few ingredients. I have sensitive acne prone skin and I am using the Sukin sensitive cream cleanser and moisturiser which does not have a toner in that range.
Great value for money and easy to use pump bottle. I also tried it on my dog who has sensitive skin and she tolerated it better than other natural pet moisturising mists. Love! Will buy again!

I purchased two shades - romantique and tropix. Tropix was thick, gloopy and streaky. Romantique was thin, sheer, streaky. Hated both. I do like the topcoat however
