Crème -Mary Kay -Cream-to-Powder Foundation

on 4/3/2019 12:50:00 PM

This is a review circa 2019 for the Endless performance cream to powder foundation - I use Ivory 2 and Ivory 4.
Very easy to apply, wears well, medium to full coverage. Applies like a cream and dries to a powdery (not chalky), smooth finish.
Wears very well on me.

No issues except - as with all (annoying) MK products - you have to purchase the compact separately. Ugh.

This is a very good formula for dry skin people - it goes on creamy but dries to a smooth finish (not chalky or overly powdery). Ivory 2 and Ivory 4 look nearly the same on me. Weird? Also, as with all MK products, you (annoyingly) have to buy a compact separately.

Not a good lip pencil. Tiny amount and doesn't stay put when you press it on lips. I got rose, which is a bit redder than I expected and the pencil is just one of the worst I ever tried in terms of packaging. Don't bother. UPDATE: apparently there is a sharpener in the cap but it's just not a good value for the amount and the design. There are better pencils in the drugstore.

Lip Gloss -Mary Kay -Cafe Au Lait

on 3/23/2019 6:20:00 AM

Mary Kay constantly changes their packaging (I think to force customers and reps to buy new cassettes, etc.) The new Nourishine is a tube that is flared out at the bottom, unlike the last version, a straight tube that fit in their platinum cassettes. It's a small tube for the price. The color Cafe au Lait is not brown entirely, it's a rose brown YLBB and it's a great color. It's rather like another color in the series Pink Parfait, which is pinker, less brown.

Unlike previous tubes, it does not leak. Like previous glosses, it's thick and stays on well. Some of their colors have a lot of gritty glitter but this one doesn't.

I wish they had more creme colors with no glitter but I like their glosses better than almost any other brand. I'm not a Mary Kay addict but they have a few items that I find are some of the best. Their issue is that they are not inexpensive and they discontinue things constantly.

Lipstick -Mary Kay -Mary Kay® Gel Semi-Shine Lipstick

on 3/23/2019 6:12:00 AM

Great packaging, a dark metal tube with a logo. Looks very high end. The color is semi sheer and very moisturizing on lips; if you don't like matte lipstick, this is very comfortably and natural looking.

Rosewood is a nude mauve color and definitely one of the "YLBB" colors, reminds me a bit of Nars Dolce Vita (less pink perhaps) and a good dupe.

There are a few MK things I really like and their lipsticks and glosses are among them. They discontinue colors and packaging very frequently, to flog their reps into buying new stock (I think) so it's not about what the customer wants, it's about moving inventory. So if you find a color you adore, stock up. The price is not cheap, $18 but you can sometimes find a sale with a rep or other places.

Eyeliner -Mary Kay -Liquid Eyeliner

This is a review in 2019 for the MK Liquid Eye Liner Pen. The formula is not Black enough for me and I have to line 2 or 3 times over the same lid for the effect I want, that said the felt-tip pen is a breeze to apply and the formula does not smear or migrate. Retails for $16 but I get mine at a discount.

Liquid -Mary Kay -TimeWise® Luminous-Wear® Liquid Foundation

on 3/9/2019 11:04:00 AM

I started trying the Mary Kay CC cream first which I really love but I needed more coverage so I then bought ($22 a pop) 23 shades of TimeWise® Luminous-Wear® Liquid Foundation. (I have dry skin so I got that formula - there is a similar formula for oily skin that has a more matte finish). Turns out Ivory 6 was perfect for me - Ivory 5 was OK but ran a bit yellow and Beige 1 was too dark/yellow toned. This is a Medium coverage formula and I quite like it - still need concealer in some spots. Definitely more coverage than CC cream. Wears well and did not oxidize on me. No scent. I would get this again in Ivory 6.

Lip Treatments -Mary Kay -Timewise Age Fighting Lip Primer

Just OK. Not bad and not awesome. Helps to smooth lips prior to lipstick application but yet now as "slippery" nor as "slick" as a balm so that the lip color can adhere to the lips. As a result it is not as hydrating as a true lip balm. This is NOT a balm - it is truly a primer. For lips. I paid full retail price but would not buy it again. ($24 - you can likely find this on ebay cheaper - but I bought thru my local MK lady.)

Lip Gloss -Mary Kay -Beach Bronze

The shimmery bronze is absolutely beautiful both by itself and layered on top of other colors. Nice vanilla scent and not too sticky. It doesn’t stay on for hours, but I don’t mind having to reapply.

A gorgeous, wearable sheer nude/beige gloss with bronze/golden microglitter. Beautiful. Feels nice, smells nice. Hydrating. A winner for me.

I have the yellow it does not blend super well into skin but does have a slight brighter look to it when wearing, it does creep into the lines of my skin but still offer some coverage from dark eyes.. A lil goes a long way

Lotions/ Creams -Mary Kay -Hydrating Lotion

on 1/17/2019 9:12:00 AM

This is a review for MK's Hydrating Lotion ($16 retail for a 6.5 oz pink & white tibe).
It has a good feel and texture but me, personally, I can't stand the "old lady perfume" scent. Kinda like baby powder crossed with an aldehyde with a bit of "old lady".

I much prefer the $32 TimeWise Body Targeted-Action Toning Lotion - 8 oz. Pump Top.

I would not buy this again as there are much better lotions (from MK and from other brands) at a better price and that SMELL better.

Cleansers -Mary Kay -Clear Proof Acne System

on 1/4/2019 3:15:00 AM

I personally love this product. My mom bought if for me about two weeks ago. It has done Wonders for me. I get the small little bumps on my forehead and bigger pimples in my t zone.since using this products they have gone down dramatically. I’ve tried so many different acne products form drug store to prescription and this has done the best. The only downside I have had is recently (the past 2 days) after using it my face burns a little and turns a little red. If anyone might know why please let me know!

Moisturizers -Mary Kay -Intense Moisturizing Cream

on 12/17/2018 9:43:00 AM

This old-school, super thick cream (contains mineral oil, waxes, shea butter and other oils) is great for BODY cream - but for me is way too heavy to use on my face. It is $32 a jar (1.8 oz.) which is moderate - but for a body cream kinda high. I use it on my knees, elbows and heels. I like the toning body lotion (with caffeine) better for body though as it, too, is $32 for 8 ounces! (Lotion not a thick cream).

I guess if you are super, super dry this could work for the face, but I won't be using it on mine. I use Volufirm or TimeWise 3D for that.

OMG this shit has both petrolatum and MENTHOL in it, not to mention it is a PINK (dyed) ointment. Yick.
I might use it as a cracked heel cream but there is no way in heck I would ever put this on my face. Ick.

Not for me.

That Menthol, though!!!!
