Mascara -L'Oreal Paris -Telescopic Mascara

Longtime fave! I love this mascara, because I can very quickly build volume, length, and definition. No need to apply layer after layer! The slim brush is awesome for getting right to the base of lashes, although I have purchased a couple of tubes where the wand had broken off inside the tube (always check this before leaving the store's parking lot!). I prefer "Brown Black" but if I can't find that shade, I will use the basic "Black". No flaking or smudging, and it's easy to remove at night. Will repurchase!

Moisturizers -L'Oreal Paris -Hydra Genius (Normal/Dry Skin)

Hmm..I am a little perplexed that this has gotten such low ratings, but to each their own! :)
I *kinda* like this....I was looking via google for a hyaluronic acid moisturizer and while I was tempted by a couple of others, I decided to go with this one bc it is easily accessible at the big box store and reasonably priced, and truth be told, I seem to have luck with most L'oreal products.

As a few others have noted in their reviews, I am in the same boat, in that my skin can be oily, but the main issue for me is my skin on my nose (and sometimes my cheeks) getting dry patches. I also like something light, and this is light. Feels pleasant soon as applied, softens my skin, feels smoother, no tightness, just a soft suppleness. Convenient pump applicator, which is very appreciated. The only reason that I did not rate this a full 5-stars, is this has a perfume-smell to it that is quite potent while applying, and takes about 15 minutes before not being as strong of a smell. Why do some companies feel the need to make skin products smell like perfume??? If they are going to do that, I feel that they should label it as 'scented'.... Also, this did not seem to keep the dryness from rearing it's ugly head on my nose as the day went on (although the dry patches were not as noticeable, but they were still there). This is not a miracle product, nor did I think it would be, I just hoped it kept my dry spots at bay, and it really did not help. I think at best this is for normal skin and slightly dry. If you have pretty strong dry issues, you might need something else. But for normal skin, I think this would be great! If you don't mind the initial perfume smell.

All in all, I like this well enough and I will use it, but it's not my holy grail (still looking!), and I would not repurchase this.

Packaging is beautiful but the mascara is super clumpy and DOES NOT make your lashes look good. Used it twice then chucked it because it was so bad. Was talking to a lady at the makeup counter today and she said it's really nice if you apply it then brush it out with a lash comb but who has time for that?? Mascara should be great right out of the tube in my opinion.

Mascara -L'Oreal Paris -Infallible Unlimited Mascara

I really like this mascara. The wand is nice and has spikes of varying length and the bend is useful to get to every lash, though I’ve always managed that just fine with a normal wand too, so it’s a bit of a gimmick. The thing I like most is the formula. It’s very black, it doesn’t flake or smudge and it doesn’t irritate my sensitive eyes. It doesn’t feel crispy and was easy to remove with micellar water. I fell asleep in it for a few hours today and it still didn’t smudge or bunch up. It gives nice definition to the lashes and they looked a bit more volumised but I don’t think it did anything for the length, which is what stops it being a HG mascara for me.

It does lengthen without bulk. But there isn't a waterproof version, so it smudges. The little brush can get too much mascara on it, so you have to wipe it down every time. And since I found out L'Oreal isn't cruelty-free, I've been looking for substitutes.

Makes lashes clump. Terrible brush. Irritated that they put this on the shelves.

Eye Shadow -L'Oreal Paris -La Palette - Nude

on 9/14/2018 7:31:00 PM

This palette comes with 10 neutral light, medium, and dark shades in the pan: 7 shimmers and 3 mattes. I used an eyeshadow primer only and watched as the dark brown blended away to a barely noticeable light brown- that was really disappointing. Even with using NYX Milk, once I started to blend, the colors faded down more than I expected. I have one eye done up w/ Milk and one eye w/o & there's a difference, but it's not overwhelming. On the plus side, if you're someone who struggles with a "heavy hand", you can basically go to town on this because there's 100% no way you can over do it.

The reason that I bought this was to replace Urban Decay Naked 1... ha ha ha... jokes on me. I'm giving this 3 stars because of the color variety & the naturalness of it (whether that's a good or bad thing, see above), and the packaging. I'm taking off a lippie for price ($20 is a ripoff for the quality) & the lack of ability to have a "night" or "heavier" look despite dark colors being in the pan. You can do better, L'Oreal.

Eye Shadow -L'Oreal Paris -Infallible Paints Eyeshadow Metallics

I have this in Violet Lustre (icy lavender) and Aluminum Foil (bright silver). I use these as a "spotlight" on the middle of the eyelid, at my age this is a fun accent, not an all-over color. These are nearly as good as the Tarte Metallic singles, which are amazing. They are best applied wet, via the "foiling" technique below. Over primer they last well all day. I don't see any glitter in these, but they are VERY high shimmer. Oh, and I have sensitive eyes and these don't bother them.

Foiling Technique (credited to Tagerosan)

For applying shimmer/metallic shadow, to increase color/shine, reduce fallout.

Load up both sides of flat brush with chosen shimmer/metallic shade.
Lightly spray both sides with setting/Fix+ spray
Apply to lid--one side of brush per eye.
This avoids getting the shadow wet and causing the dreaded hard pan.

My DIY Fix+: In tiny spray bottle (got at Sally's), mix boiled spring water and a couple drops of vegetable glycerin. Shake well.

Mascara -L'Oreal Paris -False Lash Telescopic

This is the worst mascara I ever used! I had to threw it away after one use, but I wish I have never tried it!
The mascara itself did a decent job, even my rather thin, wispy lashes looked a bit odd and spiky.
The real problem occurred when I tried to remove it…I know that a waterproof mascara is more difficult to remove…But this one took with it a lot of my lashes… And the rest of my lashes started to break off about half way down!
I understand that everyone has different lashes, but this was my worst drugstore mascara purchase ever and I would definitely not recommend it.

Lips -L'Oreal Paris -Paris Infallible Pro-Matte Liquid Lipstick

I’d really like to give this lipstick 4.5 stars. It isn’t perfect, but it’s about as good as it gets when it comes to long wear liquid lipsticks. I also have similar lipsticks from Revlon, Smashbox and Too Faced, but I like the Infallible line the best.

I wanted to wear red lipstick today and I grabbed a red metallic from Too Faced that’s supposed to last all day. Well, it was coming off everywhere. I must be bad with lipsticks but I had it all over my fingers; it kept bleeding outside my lips and I would try to wipe it off. In desperation I went to the drugstore and grabbed a Colorstay lip liner in red and lined around it. That didn’t help much. On top of that over time it was making my lips look dried out, cracked and chapped.

So, in the evening before going out to watch a movie I redid my whole face and this time I grabbed Infallible Pro Matte in Matador. I gave it five minutes to dry and applied an old Victoria Secret’s Beauty Rush glittery gloss in a darker pink over it and it looked stunning. My husband even commented on how much better he liked the new red lipstick I was wearing better than the other one I had been wearing. Yes, he noticed. On top of that, all evening til midnight I didn’t get red lipstick all over myself. It barely came off when I drank and didn’t bleed all over the edges of my mouth. Thank you, L’Oréal.

When you first open it seems a little too thin and then about half way thru it gets really clumpy...so there's like a 1 week window where it's really good....this is like the avocado of mascaras....

Powder -L'Oreal Paris -L'Oreal Paris True Match Mineral Foundation

2.5/5

I need to start off with the packaging because it's fking ridiculous. I understand that this is loose powder and it will be messy but this design is just soooo inconvenient. In order to get the product out of the container you have to shake it till it comes above the sifter, but it will also get on the bottom of the brush (the white part) and the powder often ends up everywhere when you unscrew to open the container. It is just a very annoying process to repeat multiple times every morning. As the product gets less and less with usage, it becomes even more difficult to get the powder out of the container. What I found to be weird, funny, and even kinda amazing is that in the last month or so of using this product, two pieces of the white plastic that the brush is attached to have broken off one after the other in the exact same way, same size, almost same size, only to the opposite ends of each other, perfectly evenly at each of the "A" as in the "L'OREAL" logo. My guess is that these parts of the plastic is especially weak, but it's still kinda cool.

Onto the foundation itself, the coverage is decent but it's pretty drying, a lot of the time I feel as though the powder won't properly stick to my face (granted I didn't use a primer while using this product) and hardly blends in, resulting in a cakey finish. Well, at least it's mattifying. Doesn't take long to see excessive oil though, and I use a setting powder, but my skin is very oily by nature.

The brush is ok, I use it the whole time while using the product, maybe I should've used a different brush and the results might be different.

In addition, It took me a long time to compare and decide on a shade before buying this product but then the color still came out wrong, natural beige W4-5 and it is way too dark, my face is naturally lighter than my neck and this shade matches or is even darker than my neck. maybe the problem isn't just the shade but also that I'm not warm-toned, I'm not sure about that either. This doesn't affect my rating because I know it's a mistake on my part. Also, I did notice that as the product oxidizes later in the day it actually became more natural-looking (not necessarily darker), perhaps it's just the oil blending in with the cakey surface of my skin.

All in all, this isn't a product that I will return to.

Liquid -L'Oreal Paris -Visible Lift Serum Absolute Advanced Age-Reversing Makeup

I've been using this for years and like it a lot, except for the packaging and it's a bit thick. But it gives me great medium coverage, and most importantly people have said I have "great skin" when wearing it, not "great foundation", LOL. One woman said it looks natural, that she couldn't tell I had on foundation. A little goes a long way for me, so a bottle lasts quite awhile.

Like another member says, the pump bottle is awful. I like that it's clear so you can see what's left, but about a third of the product clumps at the bottom. Given its price, it's a waste of the product. Shaking it won't help. (The label used to actually say "shake well") Yesterday, I had to use pliers to get the pump piece/top off, then I tried every tiny tool I have to stir and scrape out the rest of the product. But the opening to the bottle is too small to get it all out. Pissed me off! I thought I just got a "bad" bottle, but this has happened before..... Some of the stuff ends up stuck at the TOP of the bottle as well, thick like paste...

The consistency is such that it could be a tube, which would be easier to squeeze out or cut open! I've done this with other products, as I want every last drop of something as I paid for it!

Still, I'm loyal to it because of the coverage, easy to blend texture, and good SPF (though I wear a hat or carry an umbrella for added sun protection). I use Buff Beige, #149, which is a perfect shade for me.
