What's the difference between this and the original one? It behaves like a cross between dry shampoo and hairspray. It does stop hair from looking too greasy, but goes too far the other way and makes it very matte. I think the volume claims come from the fact that it has a degree of hold, meaning once brushed up and out it keeps the shape to a certain extent. I don't like using this on my fringe but it's not as bad when I use it to help style my hair into tied back and updo looks. It's also good at creating lift without having to backcomb so much, as it has a rough, dry texture on hair and so friction keeps the style from slipping out completely. However, it's easy to use too much and seem like you're trying to channel Marie Antoinette with her powdery white wig. I prefer the original overall, which is nearly undetectable and freshens up day 2 hair while leaving it shiny still. But this does have its uses as a styling aid, so it isn't all bad. It's just that it doesn't really behave like a dry shampoo, which is the thing its sold as.

This dry shampoo is the bomb! It adds visible volume, which lasts for days. OMG holy grail, I never will be without it!.I have silver hair, thinning a bit as I approach the big 7-0, but still like to be stylish and with it. This dry shampoo restores the appearance of young bouncy plentiful hair. Miracle product!

Batiste is the best dry shampoo I can find. It is easy to blend into the hair. It looks refreshed and clean. It does not leave it sticky or dirty looking and does not leave tons of white residue in my hair. I love Batiste Divine Dark it works the best for my dark hair. I also like the blush scent but this dark shade works the best for my hair color.(Divine Dark is for anyone with shades on the dark hair spectrum — color-treated or natural. From mahogany to chocolate to midnight black. Scent-mild notes of bergamot, white peach, and vanilla bean)(Beautiful Brunette is for -caramel to copper to chestnut (and hello redheads!)

I have purchased this many times. I've tried other dry shampoos but I always come back to this one because it does what it's supposed to, it doesn't leave a white cast and it smells good.

I always go back to this. Have used the blonde version when i was a beige blonde and regular when I was back to my natural hair. This is my absolute favorite out of them all. I have naturally ashy, almost black looking hair that I get colored to a gorgeous chocolate brunette with rich, red undertones. I was using white dry shampoos that weren't visible in my hair to me after careful blending but even my hair stylist could see all the white residue in my hair. I went back to this again and it has never failed to make my hair look so full and thick when I wait my 5 days between washes. I use the light-medium one and it doesn't show up one bit in my hair. A good trick to help prevent oil is to use this or any dry shampoo on the first day you wash and every day after that. I honestly don't understand why people wait for their hair to get gross in between washes before trying to use dry shampoo. Yes, it costs more since you go through cans of this so quickly but for me to be able to go long before I have to shampoo again saves my hair color. (although it is brunette the rich, red shine it has can fade really quickly).

This stuff singlehandedly made me dislike all dry shampoos - and it took a long time of finally giving other brands a try that i realized not all dry shampoos are this bad.Batiste is definitely very affordable, but the problem is that it's literally a white powder that covers your scalp. I do have black hair, but even that aside, when you spray it in and then try to rub your scalp, your fingers come out powdered in white. When i lift my hair, i see a pile of white powder all over my scalp. If i scratch my head even a little bit, white powder comes off under my fingernails.i know you're supposed to like, spray it on and then toussle your hair to get the powder to absorb oil and then out of your hair, but that also means that white powder was getting onto my clothes, my hands, and honestly it's just a mess.worst of it, it doesn't even work. I have very oily scalp, asian thin and fine hair (and not a lot of it). At first I liked that it SEEMS like it's making my hair less oily but not crunchy/hard, but then i realized that it's because it's not really working. Within a couple of hours, it's back to being oily, now with added benefit of white powder getting under my fingernails. I happened to try several other dry shampoo over the past several years, and most recently the Dove one and Not Your Mother's, and both worked so much better than Batiste. They made me think maybe I didn't give Batiste enough of a chance, so i busted my bottle out again, and nope, it was horrible. Now that I have explicit experience with other dry shampoos, i realize batiste is just particularly bad, as opposed to all dry shampoos feel/look/works horribly. the three i have tried over the years are Oribe, Not Your Mother's, and Dove, and I like all three of them, with the Dove one working the best but also leaving my hair feeling a little hard/crunchy, as if i got hairspray. But it also gave me a lot more volume than the others. Oribe was the best in terms of how it looks and feels but cost a buttload, and Not Your Mother's somewhere in between. I'm tossing my almost full bottle of Batiste. I'm never putting this crap into my hair ever again. ugh.

Batiste works well... as long as you can get it out of the can. I've bought different sizes from different stores, but every single can always gave me less than 10 uses before it magically stopped spraying product. I don't have a ton of hair to work with and only ever used a tiny bit on the roots around my face before going to the gym, too. At first I thought I was crazy, but then my stylist said the same thing happened to her so she gave up on it. If they ever change up the formula to a shake bottle like Bumble & Bumble I'll give it another try, but the aerosol cans are awful.

Before having used this, I used plenty of other dry shampoo brands such as Dove and Herbal Essences. However, I decided to try this brand and it is definitely the best dry shampoo I ever tried. I have fine hair and the product does not leave any white residue in it. It also keeps my hair feeling and looking just as good as if it were still clean. It is a real miracle worker if I forget to wash my hair.

Holy. Grail. My hair feels soft and doesn't feel like I used a weird product after using this. Just feels like hair. It has more body and looks better than if I dont use it. Scent is nice and not overwhelming. I love this product. I have dark, navy blue hair and try not to over wash to keep from fading my color. It does come out of the can white-ish, but that goes away completely when I follow this routine. Brush my hairShake well (this reduces whiteness according to manufacturer) Spray on batiste (in sections) Let dry (do something else for 5 mins. - makeup, etc.)Massage scalp and anywhere you see white. The white disappears in seconds. I love the tropical scent, although it smells very little like coconut imo. Just ordered the cherry scent to try.

Love this...I have a very short pixie type haircut. This adds much needed texture and volume to my fine hair and controls oilies. I can go a day or two without shampooing.

Where has this product been all my life? I have fine, straight, color-treated blonde hair. My roots are oily but my ends are dry. I've tried a lot of dry shampoos, and none of them stack up to this product. I purchased the Rose Gold version of this shampoo, because I no longer wash my hair every day. I wash every second day, but sometimes my roots get greasy on day two. After trying some dry shampoos like Tresseme and Dove, I was getting frustrated with them. They left my hair dry, sticky and feeling dirty. This product does the exact opposite of that. The other thing I have to say is that while this has a fragrance, it is nowhere near as offensive as the others I've tried. It is much lighter and tends to go away quickly. To me, personally, it is also a more pleasant smell than some of the heavy, chemical-laden smells that some dry shampoos have. I did have a slight light cast on my roots at first, but I was able to comb it away after a few minutes. It leaves my hair silky, oil-free and feeling pretty good. Doesn't do as much by way of volumizing, but I like wearing my hair sleek right now, so that's not a problem. I highly recommend this product. It's a little more money than some of the others, but I think that it's worth it. I just spray it on my roots and comb through. I find that less is more, and it certainly does a great job.

I have very long, silky, fine hair, I cannot use it like normal dry shampoo for the same reasons everyone has mentioned already. But it's AMAZING for updos. It gives texture, volume and control to hair that takes a lot of effort to arrange in a fancy updo. Teasing won't stay? Now it will. Bobby pins sliding out? Not any more.

This is so much better than the 'Dove Refresh & Care Dry Shampoo' that I tried prior to this. It left no white cast whatsoever and also gave my hair a bit of volume. No matter how much of it I used, the fragrance wasn't that overpowering (Tropical) that it would clash with my perfume and it also helped tackle oily scalp and roots the day after washing and 3 days following that until my next hair wash. Not once did I notice any build-up, or my roots being weighed down which I experienced using Dove's. If anything my hair had more bounce and added softness to it as though I'd just used a mild conditioner or frizz serum!Price-wise yes it is a bit more than many of the other dry shampoos I've seen but at 8 bucks it's definitely worth paying that bit extra for a better quality product. THIS DRY SHAMPOO IS EVERYTHING I WANT! Don't even try those super expensive dry shampoos! This brand surely has something for you that'll meet your needs.
It sprays brown on my dark brown hair so that my roots don't appear dull; it adds volume; the oils are kept at bay so my hair looks fresh & clean; and it's adorable! 5/5!
