Cleansers -Trader Joe's -Facial Cleansing Oil

I love DHC but thought I'd give this a go. I do love Trader Joe's and have had a generally good experience with their products. This, unfortunately, is one of the duds for me. My general complaints:
1. The consistency is too thin
2. It's heavily scented
3. It stings the heck out of my eyes, and seems to do so even after I have rinsed
4. It doesn't remove makeup all that well, especially eye makeup (which has the extra hazard of #3)
5. It doesn't emulsify really, at all. Very hard to tell if it's rinsed off
So yeah. Not a great one for me. The pros? It's very, very well priced, and doesn't strip the skin. With that said, I can't really say it CLEANS the skin because I can never tell if it rinses off. But, it also hasn't made me break out, either. So I've given it two stars because it's not great and I definitely won't repurchase, but it wasn't SO bad I couldn't finish it.

Hair Treatments -Trader Joe's -Shea Butter & Coconut Oil Hair Mask

I just had to review this wonderful stuff! I heard good things so I bought it- it's $3.99 and also if you dont like it they'll take it back so what do i have to lose? Nothing. But it's seriously awesome! The smell is lovely, it's a natural coconut scent. Maybe slightly floral. It's rich and has a ton of slip which is so hard to find IMO. It hydrates so nicely! My hair is fine and thin and bleached and it quenches it. Could be too much for daily use I suppose. But I got no weigh-down. Just soft hair! I'll always repurchase this. Hopefully they'll keep it around!

Shampoo -Trader Joe's -Balanced Moisturizing Nourish Spa Shampoo

For reference, my hair is coarse, thick, naturally wavy, colored, heat-styled, and tends to be dry. I have recently switched to sulfate & silicone free haircare, which has worked wonders in how manageable my hair is, regardless of whether I wear it straightened or natural. I wash 2-3 times per week and will either co-wash with Suave coconut conditioner or use Pantene's sulfate free rosewater shampoo (another new find I'm loving). I bought the TJs spa shampoo to alternate as a more "clarifying" option after seeing it recommended by "real life + curly girl" Alyson on YouTube. I use this maybe once a week or every 2 weeks when I feel like my hair needs a more thorough cleansing for whatever reason. The shampoo itself is clear & thick, chock full of botanicals, and smells lightly citrusy/botanical. It's pretty concentrated, and you don't need much product. It foams really well and does a great job of getting my hair extremely clean without feeling at all stripped or dry. I always follow with conditioner (currently using Tresemme Botanique coconut milk & aloe), and I never have any issues with dryness. I personally think this product does a great job, and I will always keep it in my rotation.

Masks -Trader Joe's -Rich Hydrating Face Sheet Mask

I wanted to love this product. I like most of TJ's beauty products, but this one was a no-go for my sensitive skin. I put it on, and within five minutes, the tingling had turned into burning. My face was left red, and took a while to fade. I will have to stick with Epielle sheet masks. On the plus side, it smelled lovely.

Toners -Trader Joe's -Rose Water Toner

Nice refreshing toner for summer days. Smells divine. Soothing to my sensitive skin. I am probably going to grab another bottle to keep in my Aikido bag, to spray on my face and neck after class. Trader Joe's is really knocking it out of the park with it's beauty offerings lately. I hope they keep it up!
