The Different Company Sel de Vetiver

A great scent. The vetiver notes really sparkle in this one. It's like a walk on the beach with a gin and tonic in your hand. Salty, mineral-y, grassy, citrus-y. Everything you want in a summer scent. Sad thing is it lasts about a nanosecond on my skin. With most lasting power this would literally be my favorite scent for the summer.

I Miss Violet

"Violet leaf, basil, mandarin orange, ambrette, champaca, nutmeg, osmanthus, violet, iris, cyclamen, mimosa, leather, mahogany, vanilla, musk, ambergris." Starts off as powdery, very sweet vanilla-violet (reminiscent of orris root and violet candies). As it quickly dries down, a bright and slightly soapy citrus joins the mix and it becomes a mellow, creamy, soft, white floral and clean citrus that would fit in perfectly with Marc Jacobs' lineup of fragrances. It reminds me of Daisy, Daisy Dream, and Honey - cheerful, pleasant, clean, casual, and inoffensive. I Miss Violet has terrible staying power, though, only lasting about two hours total on me. Ridiculously overpriced at $245 for 50ml.

 Jasmin de Nuit

Starts off with cinnamon and just keeps getting better. The perfect balance of spicy and sweet. The jasmine really hides in this one and I would have liked it to be more prominent. Sillage is moderate and lasts only 4 hours on my skin but that is how my chemistry works (sucks the life out of most perfumes)
