Lotions/ Creams -The Body Shop -Coconut Body Butter

A big fan of coconut fragranced products, I picked up a tub of this on sale from one of TBS stores. Although I love the smell, I wasn't big on this one. It's greasy and sits on top of my skin, even on very dry areas like my lower half of my legs which can drink up virtually any hydrating moisturizer. And despite tolerating the greasiness it didn't do all that great a job of hydrating either. Tried to use as a hand cream instead but the same problem - it just does not absorb into my skin. Not a re-purchase for me.

(As I've sampled many 100s of skin, hair and m/u products over the last decade and a half, I thought it might be useful to share my top 10 must-have products, subject to change if and when I come across something more effective. I love constantly trying out new stuff - usually sample sizes via e-bay, also plenty courtesy of a friend who works at Sephora)

Gels/Soaps -The Body Shop -Almond Milk & Honey Soothing & Caring Shower Cream

on 9/22/2018 4:08:00 PM

I bought this because I love the Honeymania shower gel. To me it smells okay at first and then changes into a very synthetic smell that I do not like. It also does not have much of a foam but that is expected with the moisturizing product that it is. Unfortunately, I will not repurchase this one and not happy that I cannot replace the Honeymania.

Toners -The Body Shop -Vitamin E Hydrating Toner

on 9/21/2018 11:44:00 PM

I tried this because of all the great reviews, but this burned my sensitive skin as soon as I applied it. It made some small breakouts on my face more red as well, and I rinsed it off quickly. I also didn't feel like it was very felt like I applied water to my face. This seems like an unnecessary step in a skin care routine that doesn't do anything - no soothing effect, no softer skin, just slippery toner.

I'll be returning this and will just stick to TBS for their body products, which I love.

Lotions/ Creams -The Body Shop -Honeymania Body Butter

on 9/19/2018 2:20:00 AM

This is my favorite product from The Body Shop. I think this product is discontinued. They do not have it in stock on their international website, instead directing you to find a store. Then in their USA website, they do not have any of the Honeymania line appear except for the Honeymania Shower Gel. I believe the Honeymania line is discontinued. This makes me really sad.

This has a STRONG smell. When I say STRONG, I mean it. You did not need a perfume with this guy, this was enough. It smelled like what you would imagine honey to be, perhaps honey processed with something else. Sometimes I'd walk outside and hope no bees would surprise me with a visit (Bees are such beautiful creatures but I'm also scared of them). I liked this strong smell and would often use it as a substitute for perfume. The scent would stick onto your clothes if you applied lotion while wearing clothes on or you got some on your shirt. This scent is heavenly for the fall and winter time. Sometimes when buying lotion from The Body Shop, it was very runny. So I popped it into the freeze once and then used it after it hardened (I live in a tropical area so it did not melt back to its runny state). It is no different from the consistency of any of The Body Shop's other products.

The hydration is great with this lotion, better than some of the other lotions from The Body Shop. I have used different lotions from The Body Shop, like mango, limited edition ones, etc. This lotion sits better on the skin, it's like the skin soaks it up so well, and shows results quite quickly. In a few days, you could feel it make a difference. On top of that, the lotion felt refreshing and not heavy, like other lotions and scents. I do not have sensitize skin at all, so I did not have a weird reaction to this lotion.

They also have a honey and milk line now, which does not smell like this product at all (if you were wondering). I'm sure you can find this lotion on Amazon or through a different third-party seller, as I believe it's discontinued.

Do I recommend this product? Yes!
