Although many here will disagree, I like gentle exfoliation with synthetic scrubbing beads because++
they are a uniform size and will not scratch or cause microscopic tears. That is the problem, imo, with St. Ives, but if it works for you, I'm not her

Is St. Ives Apricot Scrub really that bad?
It’s something that I always end up coming back to. I’m 31 and have been using this product on and off since I was a teen...with really nice results.

Do you use a chemical exfoliant? The flakes need to be removed (gently)++
so an AHA, BHA, PHA (lactic acid) combo product in a low concentration either in a toner form or a slightly higher strength that you leave on for 5-10
