I usually use St. Tropez and Skinceuticals but have also tried many other self tanners. I had forgot about Sunlabs but recently purchased the overnight cream in medium. My mistake was getting medium as the color payoff after washing is not enough for me. It is lovely and those that want just a hint of golden brown will be happy but i like solid lookinshade. As I am pretty pale (not deep dark but just tan). This is a great product. It smells like cherry cough syrup and it has almost a gel like consistency but it is a lotion. It is very easy to apply even though it dries quickly - no streaking for me and it goes over ankles and feet surprisingly well with little effort. Definately use gloves or mit. With several applications a week, I can get close to tan for me. Next time I will buy the darker shsde.

This is one of the better sun tanners I have used.. I got a small bottle to try it out and I really liked it. It was long lasting and looked very natural.. I ordered another bottle already and its a way bigger size..I will keep using this one..

HOLY GRAIL sunless tanner for me (and I am faux-tanned almost all year long). I use the VERY DARK shade. It is amazing on my OLIVE skin, which can look quite "muddy" if I use very neutral-brown toned sunless tanners. My olive skin tone either needs a very golden-coppery sunless tanner OR it needs a sunless tanner with a bit of reddish-bronze in it (that is what this sunless tanner has). The red tone is very slight -- just enough to make the tan result look more natural, the way it would look if I really laid out in the sun. When I use to lay out (which I haven't done in over 20 years), my first day suntanned skin would have that gorgeous slightly sun-burnt rosy-bronze color to it (SO bad for the skin! but so pretty!). I have tested a ton of sunless tanners of the past 20 years, searching for that same reddish-bronze type of glow in a bottle, but had not been able to find one --- until I discovered SUN Laboratories. I cannot comment on the other shades in this line, as I have only tried the VERY DARK. (My 2nd fave sunless tanner is Fake Bake, but FB is much more of a toned down "tan" color. It's more golden-brown (no copper or red tones in it at all). I usually reserve FB for my body, but never my face -- as it can give me that muddy "2 week and fading tan" look, which I hate. SUN Labs' tan is much more vibrant, yet still very natural looking (just the way cool/neutral toned olive skinned brunettes would tan naturally). The only down side to this product for me is that the pump top came off very easily, and no longer stays on very well. The slightest touch causes it to fall off (it "locks" if you don't have it turned in just the right spot, which is fine if the top of the pump would stay on!). Unlike Fake Bake, SUN Labs does not include gloves or a mitt. I would highly suggest you use gloves, at least. I use the gloves and mitt from my Fake Bake for all of my sunless tanner applications. This product will stain your hands and nails if you don't wear gloves and do not wash your hands immediately. Overally, this is a MUST HAVE sunless tanner for all those with olive skin who find other sunless tanners either too flat/muddy/taupe brown, or find sunless tanners to be too orange.

The maintainer lotion is really moisturizing & helps the self tanner stay longer. It is free of harsh chemicals that would break down the tanning lotion like some regular lotions. It smells nice and sinks into your skin quickly without leaving a greasy residue. I use it between tanning applications to extend the life of my tan.

This is the best tanning lotion I have ever used. It is the easiest to apply and it gives the most natural color.I actually decided on writing a review because I just used Loving Tan 2h express (cannot find any reviews on that here eventhough Youtube gurus seem to rave about it) and that is just a mess...not only was the application a disaster, it left me with an orangy and uneven tan. Which made me realise just how much I appreciate the Sun Laboratories Instant Tan in Dark. It also reminded me of the fact that it isn't a walk in the park to self tan, well, at least not with others self tanners then this one. I gotten so used to the fact that this just gives me flawless results that I assumed that other self tanners would probably give similar effects, oh boy was I wrong. The only downside is that it is not easily available for me, I only have one eBay store where I can purchase this liquid gold, So I pray to whoever is up there that they will continue to sell it there. I already got my sister and several friends hooked on this stuff.Really...if you are looking for a great self tanner, look no further. I apply the self tanner with vinyl gloves (the ones that don't have powder on the inside) and it goes on like a dream. My technique is to 'pat' the self tanner in the skin, so I firsttake a pump, spread it out and then make small patting motions to basicly buff the tanner into the skin. For my hands and face I use a brush to apply the tanner. It does stain your sheets if you sleep with it, but I find three hours of wearing the tan is sufficient for the tan to develop.Really no cons about this product. Will purchase foreeeeevaaah ;)
