Sunscreen -Paula's Choice -DEFENSE Essential Glow Moisturizer SPF 30

on 4/17/2019 4:05:00 PM

Paula’s Choice says this about the Essential Glow Moisturizer SPF 30: “This daytime hydrator protects from UV and blue light, plus helps neutralize airborne pollutants before they cause damage. Works all day to visibly repair and brighten skin so it looks younger and more vibrant.” I don’t think my skin is visibly repaired, nor does this product make my skin look brighter, more vibrant or younger. I’m still getting age spots from the sun. But on top of this making my face look greasy instead of glowy, emphasizing the orange peel texture of my skin, but it also makes my skin itch like crazy when I start heating up in the sun. I don’t think it’s the PC Antioxidant Pore Purifier from the same line since I wear that under almost everything. I’ve used almost the entire 15 mL travel size of this SPF and I haven’t once been impressed with it. At least I didn’t break out because of it.

Sunscreen -Paula's Choice -CALM Redness Relief SPF30 Mineral Moisturizer N/O

on 4/13/2019 1:47:00 AM

The highlight of this sunscreen out of all the other sunscreens I've tried is how soothing it feels. It contains a mix of good plant extracts like tea, licorice, chamomile and algae that provide an antioxidant, hydrating and soothing boost to skin. It is both watery and creamy when it comes out of the tube but once you rub it in, it doesn't feel greasy. You don't feel like you are wearing anything on your face but if you touch your face, you feel a slight creamy layer. The downside is it leaves a slight white cast that doesn't fade. Some white streaks appear so you need to be careful and blend them. I don't wear this as my sole moisturizer but if your face isn't dry and you live in a humid climate, you can wear this as a moisturizer because it isn't drying. I haven't tried other mineral sunscreens but I've heard good things fron eltamd, blue lizard, sunsense, australia gold and coola so I won't be repurchasing for now.

Treatments (Face) -Paula's Choice -Skin Perfecting 8% AHA Lotion Exfoliant

This is one of my favourite facial exfoliants, like most of Paula's Choice skin care products, which I highly recommend, this is a potent formula brimming with state of the art ingredients and ofcourse the stated 8% Glycolic acid in a lotion texture.

Paula's Choice make a whole range of exfoliants in different percentages and in different textures, this is to ensure that all skin types can reap the benefits of exfoliation suited to their skin type and needs.

The pump dispenser is easy to use, one pump is usually enough for face and neck, this can either be used twice a day, or as needed. The lotion texture is perfect for this with Normal to Dry Skin, combination to Oily skins perhaps might want to try the 8% Gel instead.

I have seen visible results with this product and with ongoing use you should have beautiful skin for a lifetime exfoliation is key! Particularly when it is leave on chemical exfoliation and not harsh mechanical scrubbing of the skin.

I recommend this product to everyone! Thank you PC!

Treatments (Face) -Paula's Choice -RESIST Ultra-Light Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum

on 4/10/2019 5:25:00 PM

I originally attempted to add a serum to evening routine via a PC sample of Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum. I absolutely loved the texture but I learned after using it that my skin doesn't tolerate retinol. After doing a little more research, I decided to try Resist Ultra-Light Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum, and I love it! It provides an extra boost of hydration to my combination skin during the winter months when my skin tends to be drier, without making it greasy or breaking it out. I use this before bedtime after cleansing and applying PC 2% BHA and followed by her Resist Anti-Aging Clear Skin Hydrator, and I wake up with plump, hydrated skin. I highly recommend it to those who wish to add a serum to their routine but are unable to tolerate retinol. A side note about the packaging: when I first started using this, it was packaged in a soft plastic bottle and was very prone to leaking, which was annoying and wasteful. When I got my most recent delivery, I was delighted to see that Paula had changed the bottle to an upright pump in a hard opaque plastic bottle - much more sturdy and zero leakage :)

Moisturizers -Paula's Choice -DEFENSE Essential Glow Moisturizer SPF 30

on 4/9/2019 12:25:00 PM

Bought the small tube to try it out and I absolutely love it. I'm not in the least bit interested in sun protection but I have figured out that zinc oxide and titanium oxide work really well to prevent sebaceous filaments dots around the nose. They are in foundations and tinted moisturisers etc but I was looking for an SPF for no makeup days. This has a truly gorgeous finish, slightly - ever so slightly shimmery and with some sort of tint to take the edge off the white/bluish cast that can occur with mineral SPFs. It feels a little dry on the skin but doesn't dry the skin out, amazingly it prevents the shine that most bases give me. I use it over my usual moisturiser as my skin can be quite dry but those with oily skin could even get away with wearing it alone. It has worked wonders for redness from past cystic spots on my chin. Unlike chemical sunscreens which have made my acne instantly worse, I find mineral spf very soothing. There is one big BUT: nano particles are safe for human use on the skin but there is some evidence that once the coating has washed off after use, the particles are a threat to marine life. The details of what ingredients are nano and not are even more confusing; labelled as non nano doesn't mean it is non nano as there is little regulation, apparently. This is clearly labelled as contining nano particles but this is a concern for the environment.
