I don't call this type of perfume a perfume. I call it an anti perfume. It smells like nothing I've ever smelled in a perfume before. Ultraviolet is one of only a handful of fragrances that I've come across since I've been into fragrance that has a vegetable note. The vegetable note in Ultraviolet is red bell pepper. Its very unusual. Very herbal. It smells almost like a fajita or spiced chicken. Very very spicy fragrance. Notes of almond, coriander, rosewood and cedar. Ultraviolet becomes more pepperey both in an herbal and vegetal sense. All combine wonderfully for a roller coaster of a scent. Goes against all fragrance rules but that is why I love it so much. It is not a sillage monster and kind of stays close to the skin....which some people may be glad for. Do not try too hard to detect it on yourself and you will find yourself catching wafts of this beast every now and then. Its just so different and bizarre that I have to love it. And the bottle is to die for. It looks like a tiny little orb flying about your room or a U.F.O. And the colors of the fragrance add to the U.F.O. effect. A metallic silver and purple. Actually, this will be odd, but remember that singing group Bananarama? That put out an album in 1996 called Ultraviolet and the colors on that album match perfectly the box of this perfume and the bottle itself. Just something else that makes this perfume so enduring to me. Certainly not feminine nor is it masculine. I call it gender neutral. Nare a flower to be smelled by my nose. If you like to go against the grain get a bottle of Ultraviolet.

So far this is the most aggressively awful fragrance that I've ever had the displeasure of sampling. I had hopes for it based on reviews describing it as a fruity, leathery Oriental. I have no words to accurately describe the notes I get. For what it's worth, I did scrub it off after a few minutes, so if there is a magical transformation that happens with drydown, I missed it.
