Moisturizers -Neutrogena -Hydro Boost City Shield spf25

on 10/20/2018 3:04:00 AM

I bought and used this last winter as a moisturiser/spf. I usually avoid both fragrance and silicones, and this contains both, but at the time I enjoyed using it. It didn’t sting or break me out and my skin was in relatively good condition, although when the really cold weather hit and I ramped up my moisturiser this didn’t layer as well (which is my main beef with silicones - they just pill). ALSO, it’s only spf 25. Come on neutrogena, lots of us use retinoids and/ or take oral vitamin A and need at least spf40-50. I probably wouldn’t repurchase but I would recommend for those looking for an all in one moisturiser/ spf and who perhaps don’t currently use any spf.

Sunscreen -Neutrogena -Hydro Boost Water Gel Lotion Sunscreen SPF 50

This sunscreen is okay. It's a chemical sunscreen in an interesting gel form. Goes in easily

Pros-
- I do think it is hydrating
- spreads smoothly and evenly. Not cakey.
- ingredients themselves did not make me breakout, I dont think.

Cons-
- it makes my face feel greasy but not really look greasy. Kind of a dewy thing but I dont like it. I had to blot shortly after applying which helped a little.
- has a lot of fragrance and dyes that are really unnecessary
- as I said before, the ingredients didnt break me out but over time I think the greasiness did. My face felt oily and I felt like all dirt and debris was just clinging to it. Really made me want to wash my face.
- I watched dr drays opinion on this sunscreen (after purchasing) and she said the UVA protecting ingredient isnt consistent. UVB was fine.

It's an okay sunscreen but I think there are better.

Moisturizers -Neutrogena -Oil-Free Moisture Sensitive Skin

This is an OK product. I've already used the version for combination skin and wanted to see if this one was lighter or heavier, or whether it clogged my pores more. On the issue of pore clogging and resultant blackheads, I have a bone to pick with Neutrogena. The company claims that this moisturizer is oil-free. But it contains a few types of silicones. But silicones are oils. So there's that. And while the silicones and parabens in the moisturizer are great for preventing the skin from losing moisture, they also clog my pores. So my face didn't like this moisturizer any more than the combination skin version. But it's quite good for my neck and layers well under sunscreen. And then I can use more expensive, non-pore-clogging moisturizer on my face and save some $$. So I'll likely repurchase just for using on my neck.

Masks -Neutrogena -Hydro Boost Overnight Gel Mask

I bought this on a whim becuase the cream based hydro mask was out of stock at my cvs. I have normal to dry skin leaning to extra dry in the cold. I used this after my cleansing treatment and let it dry down a bit before going to sleep. It goes on a bit tacky but not unbearable. It didnt make my face sticky during the night and has a nice smell. It says one use on the packet but you could probably get 2-3 uses out of it if you're not heavy handed (I wasn't). It does make my face feel nice while the skin is still damp and while on the face after dry down. When I rinsed it off the next morning came off easily without any struggle to get off any remaning residue. I dont think it does much for my face though. Not terrible but not knock my socks off either. It was about 4$ for a small mini sized mask so knid of pricey but you do get more than one use out of it. Didnt break me out but is not fragrance free (nor do i have sensitive skin) so if that matters to you beware! Not for me but not a bad experience only a little lackluster.
