Powder -NYX Professional Makeup -Color Correcting Powder

on 3/24/2019 1:25:00 PM

I bought this powder in the shade lavender which is a light purple tinted color. I know that sounds kinda scary but it doesn't leave any color on the skin. In fact, I don't understand how this powder color corrects. However, it is a great under eye setting powder. If you have fair to light/medium skin this powder is a hidden gem. It leaves my under eye so smooth. Zero dryness when I use this. Most powders at least leave me looking slightly dry but not this one. It brightens just the right amount too.

Leaves the under eye smooth
Not drying at all
Doesn't emphasize my under eye wrinkles

I can only find this on the NYX website
You don't get much product

Overall, this one is a keeper. It's my favorite powder for my under eyes. It's beating all my high end powders for this area. If most powders leave your under eye dry and looking older, try this one!

Kinda have mixed feelings about this product. I dislike the smells. Overall just a so so primer. I’d prefer Rimmel primer which is good value for money.

Liquid -NYX Professional Makeup -Can't Stop Won't Stop Full Coverage Foundation

Yikes! I was really hoping to like this foundation and was excited by the range of colors, but this was not a great formula formula for me at all and I was really surprised considering I have skin that gets pretty oily throughout the day. As soon as I put this on it got sucked into my skin and it basically sucked the life out of me. This accentuated dry patches I didn't know I had. Essentially, this sets on its own without a powder...which makes me nervous as I can't imagine not setting my foundation.

Regarding the shades offered: as versatile as the range is, I'm thinking it all runs more yellow than expected. I am neutral to yellow toned and went with true beige which is supposed to have warmer undertones. Applied to the darker part of my arm it seemed a little too yellow, but workable. But as soon as I applied to my face I swear, no joke, it looked like kraft mac and cheese yellow/orange. I ended up returning it.

At Target, the nyx display of these foundations includes the name of each shade as well as a description including the undertones. "True beige" which I picked up from CVS, was nowhere to be found (I was trying to show it to my friend who was shopping with me at Target). Using the display as my guide, I picked out the shade "Nude" which was described as being some lighter medium shade with neutral undertones. When I swatched it on the darker part of my arm, it seemed to blend in almost perfectly. It definitely oxidized, but it seem to oxidize to the perfect shade. My face is just a little darker than my body and my neck is a little darker than my face. Cute, right?

The next morning, I went to apply the "Nude" shade onto my face and I was horrified. It was significantly lighter than what I thought it would be and looked like on my arm. TBC...

Concealers -NYX Professional Makeup -HD Photogenic Concealer

I bought this in light in order to give light and good coverage under my eyes. It's not drying my skin, blends very well but it IS NOT full coverage concealer. I only used for highlighting the areas of my face left, after cream contouring. For this matter worked perfect because it is lightweight but still having some coverage.

Pressed Powders -NYX Professional Makeup -#NoFilter Finishing Powder

If you need a powder to keep your face matte, this is not it. I was impressed though by the texture of the powder. Very finely milled, does not makes my pores bigger but it does not "fill" them, like any loose powder can do. It has a very light sheen and gives your face an overall light that if you don't have serious texture in your skin like me, that could be perfect for your skin to seem luminous in a not oily way. But for me did not work because I have some acne and texture in my skin and this accentuates it much. I gave this 3 stars because seems like a very good product but only if you have not texture issues with your skin.
