Maybelline

The Maybelline Company was created by a 19-year-old entrepreneur named Tom Lyle Williams in 1915. Williams noticed his older sister Mabel applying a mixture of Vaseline and coal dust to her eyelashes to give them a darker, fuller look. He adapted it with a chemistry set and produced a product sold locally called lash-in-brow-line. Williams renamed his eye beautifier Maybelline, in honor of his sister Mabel, who gave him the idea. In 1917 the company produced Maybelline Cake Mascara, ""the first modern eye cosmetic for everyday use"" and Ultra Lash in the 1960s, which was the first mass-market automatic

I have used a lot of drugstore foundations...a LOT, and this is my current favorite. I love the finish and feel, because this seems to meld with my skin, and looks so smooth and non-cakey, and really masks my larger pores. Despite the natural finish, it does not make me greasy like other foundations do. For reference, I have combo/oily skin. I wish that this had SPF, because I like to layer up on my sun protection. The pump bottle is really convenient, and the lightest shade "Porcelain Ivory" matches my pale, neutral skintone perfectly. I think it's important to mention what is worn under/over foundations, when reviewing. Having said that, I wear Garnier's Moisture Rescue SPF15 under this, and Covergirl's Professional loose powder to set. The price is pretty reasonable ($8-$9), and I will likely repurchase!

Loose Powders -Maybelline - Shine Free Oil-Control Loose Powder

Shade: 01 Light
Foundation Shade: NC15

After years, I have finally managed to use up this product! I think this is a pretty average powder. It does work very well for controlling my oil, so I'll give it that. It also is not translucent so you can definitely use it on top of your bronzer or blush if you feel like you were too heavy handed with them.
The only downside is that it does look quite powdery when I apply this onto my skin. Also the packaging is a bit bulky, and the lid comes off very easily. Definitely not a powder for traveling.

Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express The Falsies

I was on vacation and in desperate need of mascara. Only 1 shop in town and no acess to reviews, so I just took a chance and grabbed this. Ugh, it's so clumpy. When I got back home I even tried it under mascara primer and it still clumped. It makes my eyelashes look bumpy and spikey, really not a good look. I also felt the color was not a saturated lush black which I would prefer. Can a mascara be dingy? I liked the shape of the brush and that's about it. Oh, I forgot to mention, there is no way to apply another coat. It becomes very dry and set quickly, it's discouraging.

Liquid -Maybelline - FIT Me Foundation (Matte + Poreless)

This is a really lovely foundation.
I was hesitant to try at first as i had never had luck with Maybelline foundations.
This however has really nice coverage (I use a damp beauty blender) that wears evenly and well through the day (survived a busy 35 degree celsius work day today). I pair it with the NYX Shine Killer primer.
It offers medium coverage and is buildable if you need to.
The only flaw is there’s no pump (at least in Australia anyway) but for how cheap this foundation is I can get past that.
I didn’t find that it clung to any dry patches and isn’t broken down easily by facial oils (a quick blot will leave it looking as good as new!)
