Skincare - Body -KORRES Natural Products -Lemon Basil Shower Gel

foto

Gosh I remember back in 2008 or 9 when I went through my 'Korres shower gel phase' and ended up purchasing at least half a dozen (does anyone remember Vanilla & Cinnamon or Guava?). Feeling nostalgic I recently decided to pay them a visit, only to discover most of the shower gels have long gone and in their place are so many new scents and formulations. As these are fairly decently priced I picked up the Basil Lemon which is one I recognized. Refreshing, uplifting and just perfect for summer...I've used it once - this morning and set to one side for summer use! It's nice to know it hasn't changed over the years and still smells and works exactly the way I recall. Korres are similar to Philosophy shower gels in that once you wash them off the scent has more or less gone. There's none of that clashing with your perfume, so if you enjoy some fragranced shower time and then want to switch to something else once you step out, these are perfect for that. I personally love the smaller sizes (1.35 fl oz) which are great for travel and fit neatly in my luggage. As far as cleansing goes the formulas do a good job at getting rid of grime without leaving residue on the skin (a pet hate of mine) and are non-stripping on my skin.

Treatments (Eye) -KORRES Natural Products -Black Pine 3D Sculpting, Firming & Lifting Super Eye Serum

foto

I received a deluxe sample of this whilst purchasing some of Korres' full size products (shower gels and body butters) which I loved! According to the SA, both the Black Pine eye serum and face serum contain by far the most 'pine' actives from that specific line up, meaning if I want to truly put pine extract to the test, then it's one of these I should opt for. I chose the eye serum and so far I'm so far liking it! It has a thin and runny consistency that goes on and absorbs easily, and without feeling tacky. I dab a very small amount under my eye and on the upper lid, both AM and PM, patting it in until it's absorbed. Keep in mind you should use an eye cream over this for best results (apparently you can use any!).

Early days still as I'm only on day 4 of my sample, but in this short stint it's definitely helped very lightly brighten my eye area and also makes me look more awake if that's even possible!? I don't really have fine lines or pufiness around my eyes (which it also purports to tackle) so I can't comment on that, but the effect I'm seeing so far is great. Most eye area products I use don't do much for me so it's nice to see something different. Love the sleek packaging and applicator too which I checked out whilst the SA demonstrated how to apply the sample.

Cleansers -KORRES Natural Products -Greek Yoghurt Foaming Cleanser - All Skin Types

This is a nice cleanser. It’s smooth and creamy. It removes some makeup but I usually use it as a morning cleanser. It might slightly brighten my face but not a ton. I use a lot of actives and have sensitive skin and I know it’s been burny on a lot of people so I expected it to be uncomfortable for me. But it wasn’t! It hasn’t irritated or burned my skin at all. I’m very acne prone and it hasn’t broken me out either! It’s got a slightly sweet scent and slightly yogurt smelling, in a good way. Kind of tart and sweet. This is a lovely product but unnecessary. If you want to splurge on a nice cleanser, this is a good buy. But it’s overpriced for what it does so it’s definitely an indulgence.

Used up a full sample of this on my most troublesome area recently (forehead) and can't say I noticed any difference other than slightly less flakiness on the center of my forehead that's been plaguing me for the last month and refuses to shift - regardless of the scrubs, peels, hydration etc I'm throwing at it.
The texture of this was pleasantly light making it suitable for me and I'm guessing most other skin types, and I didn't experience any kind of breakout whilst using it. Having said that I was using 1 drop AM + PM before my moisturizer -
which always calms my skin anyway, perhaps used on its own it may have disagreed with me.

What I wasn't big on was the formulation itself. I've used plenty of day and night serums, some just a fraction of this price and with better ingredients. With alcohol as the 2nd ingredient I personally would never use this long term as that's just too much alcohol and not good for the skin, especially mine, from past experience. The rest of the ingredients list is a mixed bag too...some good and some definitely not so! Perhaps the full effect of the product accumulates over time, but I guess - for good reason, I'll never know...

I’ve gone thru like 4 tubs of this in a year. It’s my favorite balm. It doesn’t look so great on me because I’m fair, so I don’t wear it in public by itself lol. But at home and at night it’s my go-to because I love the texture of this balm
