Pressed Powders -Hourglass Cosmetics -Ambient Lighting Powder in Dim Light

I'm NC20, combo/oily. I'm 30, so my skin isn't the acne and greasy mess it used to be, though I never had that youthful "glow" to begin with because my skin was garbage.
I feel like this powder gives me what I never had.
After my makeup is done and set, I'll take a big fluffy brush ( Ecotools large powder brush works amazing with this) and coat the brush in the pan. I'll press the brush onto my skin, avoiding the pores near my cheeks though. Then dust off the excess. I find this powder adds a subtle life to the face that'll make people go " Hmm not sure what it is, but you look healthy".
There are other similar and cheaper powders that work quite well like Fyrinnae's Hollywood Sorcery.
This is also great to use when you feel like you're looking a little flat, like how I feel sometimes if I'm using a long-wearing high coverage Matt foundation.
I like this a lot and plan on repurchasing when it's done.

Mascara -Hourglass Cosmetics -Caution Extreme Lash Mascara

Initially, I liked this mascara, thinking that the problems I had with clumping were user error and the result of a too-new mascara. I began wiping the brush with a tissue to remove excess product, but that only helps a bit. What I can say about it is that it doesn't flake or come off during the day. Moreover, I find it removes quite easily with a cotton pad soaked in Bioderma, so that's something. I hate buying separate, expensive mascara removers. Bummer. I was really excited about this.

Stick -Hourglass Cosmetics -Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick

For quite some time, I found myself avoiding this product, which I had received as a sample (and have since bought the full size product). I found it to be a troublesome foundation -- it would slide off my T-zone and was tough to blend out thinly enough on my cheeks and forehead. But when I had breakouts, I found myself trying it out again to cover areas. And that's where I found it works for me. As an area concealer. If I need heavier coverage, I will set it with some powder. On an oilier area, I may have to touch up during the day, and since I'm not a mid-day makeup re-applier, this is not ideal, but I find it often applies and blends better than my Laura Mercier Secret Camo (although the LM is waxier and stays a little better). I use Vanish in Shell.I find it's actually a perfect compliment to use this as spot coverage with an almost nude face (LM tinted moisturizer in Nude for some SPF and a little evening out of skin tone).

Loose Powders -Hourglass Cosmetics -Veil Translucent Setting Powder

I can’t live without a good loose powder for making sure makeup doesn’t shift during long working days and I really had high hopes for this one; I like most Hourglass products and used the Veil foundation for quite a long time (see review there) before being brought back into the Nars fold. BUT. This really wasn’t worth my hard-earned money. The packaging is lovely but it just doesn’t dispense the right amount of powder you need to make it work. Then you end up giving it a shake and before you know where you are, your face is caked in the stuff. Plus, it doesn’t really ‘hold’ anything. So I’m left with an expensive white elephant here! I’ve gone back to Old Faithful - Kiko Milano Invisible Powder. It rocks and at a fraction of the price, guys....

Palettes -Hourglass Cosmetics -Ambient Lighting Palette

Well this doesn't so much on me.
The darker shade blends out like crazy, and barely leaves the slightest dark tint behind.
The lightest shade blends out to a very dim sheen.
The middle shade is my exact skin shade.
For the amount of money I paid, I'd hope for a bit more pizazz.

Would not recommend unless you can actually go in store and swatch it on your school. I'm sending this back, sadly.
