Loose Powders -Hourglass -Veil Translucent Setting Powder

This is a beautiful setting powder with an ingenious packaging design which dispenses the perfect amount of product. Lately I've been trying to avoid setting powders if I can given at 60 years old, my skin is increasingly showing more signs of age despite good skin care, and most setting powders just make me look older. I like that this has a slightly luminous finish and doesn't look matte or dry, although being a powder it still does dry my skin out slightly. I've been alternating this with the Laura Mercier Candlelight Glow finishing powder but this one is nice in that it doesn't add any extra color the way the other one does. It holds up my makeup pretty well for a 12 hour day and doesn't get cakey on me.

Powder -Hourglass -Ambient Lighting Powder in Luminous Light

I hate that I bought this product. I fell for all of the hype years ago when it first came out. Years later, I still don't know what to do with it. If you use it as an all-over finishing powder, while it may look somewhat pleasant in certain romantic lighting, it looks absolutely hideous in broad daylight. It accentuates every blemish, flaw, crease, line, and actually makes my pores look enlarged, like I have craters on my face. And my pores aren't THAT bad. If you're under 30 and have flawless skin, it might work for you. I suppose it might also work as an extremely expensive, subtly shimmery eyeshadow. It doesn't really look all that nice on me as a highlight. It looks chalky and powdery in my opinion. But if you're into highlighters with very little shimmer, this might be OK for you. The packaging quality is great and you do get a lot of product. However, I can't justify the price of this product because it doesn't look nice on everyone and I find it very one dimensional.

I love how natural this looks. I never set my makeup cuz I have super dry skin and setting it ages my skin like crazy. But with this foundation I have to set it or else it transfers everywhere. I find that it works best with the hourglass veil translucent setting powder and the mineral veil primer. My skin looks flawless! I wish they had more shades because I had to buy two of them to get my right color and this stuff is EXPENSIVE (0.25oz or 7 grams for $56 canadian dollars! More expensive than the Tom Ford foundation stick by weight!!!). It's very concentrated so I use the tiniest amount for a medium coverge and a tiny bit more for full coverage. I don't think oily skin people would like this as much because it is quite emollient.

Broke me out, and I AM NOT prone to breakouts. Also did nothing in terms of extending wear of foundation, definitely prefer my All Hours primer, which does everything it claims to do.
