an old stand by that calms and soothes my scalp itchiness. it leaves my hair very soft but so clean at the same time. I have bleached hair so I only use this twice a week and a verb shampoo the rest of the week. it never turns my hair green, brassy or has given me a weird tone.

Contains selenium sulphide as its antifungal agent, rather than pyrithione inc in the rest of the H&S line.It is effective at treating dandruff, seborrhoeic dermatitis, and pityriasis versicolor BUT there is no getting away from that sulphur smell. It's not so obvious immediately since there is so much scent covering it up in the formula itself but give it a few hours and your hair starts to smell like fart. It also has its delightful aroma cling to every towel and sponge it touches, too. I can't deny its effectiveness as an antifungal treatment but it smells so bad it's an effective antisocial agent, too.If zinc-based antifungals disagree with you, try looking into coal tar or ketoconazole based shampoos.

I don't really have problems with Head & Shoulders in general - they aren't the best shampoos out there but they are far from the worst, and are decent enough for the price. They are effective at clearing dandruff, seborrhoeic dermatitis, and pityriasis versicolor that arrives on my skin like an unwelcome visitor every summer. Their citrus, apple, eucalyptus and classic shampoo varieties are all pleasant enough and do their job of cleaning my hair well enough. As I have fine hair, the 2-in-1 products do not agree with me at all, as they leave a coating on the hair roots that weigh it down and make it look greasy and like it hasn't even been washed. This unfortunately happened with this shampoo, too, even though it isn't a 2-in-1 product. I'd recommend others with fine hair give this a miss too.

I accidentally toned out my ombre with a permanent blonde toner and was looking for ways to get it back without using a color remover product (like Color Oops) or bleach. Clarifying shampoo helped a little bit. I knew washing my hair over time would fade the color but I wanted something quicker. I kept finding articles that said Head & Shoulders would fade color, watched a few youtube videos where people demonstrated the process- so I bought it. I mixed this with baking soda in a 1:1 ratio and slathered it on wet hair, put it up in a cap for 40 minutes, then rinsed in the shower. My hair was pretty dry afterwards (expected result since I put 2 detergents in it), but I saw a lot of the color rinsing in the tub so I felt encouraged. I did this a second time and now the toner is 90% out of my hair. Pretty happy with that.

Just like the person below me, I don't usually review anything but this shampoo is the worst I've ever had the displeasure of using and others should be warned. The worst part of using this junk is the fact that it coats your hair in this awful WAXY, GREASY, STICKY residue, like it hasn't been washed in months. It leaves hair feeling and looking like absolute cr@p, which does nothing for one's confidence (especially one who is already experiencing some scalp and hair issues). Imagine the whole scalp is weighed down with heavy, sticky wax and the ends are dry and frizzy - it's super gross to touch and look at and doesn't feel clean AT ALL. I could only use it a few times before my hair felt so disgusting I just couldn't justify using the rest of it, so in the bin it went today. I'm now going to have to buy a clarifying shampoo to get rid of this disgusting wax build up this god awful shampoo has left on my hair (I wonder how many washes it's going to take to wash it out). For $24, I expected this product to atleast get rid of some flaking and itching (like it claims) but it really struggles to do even that - I still see some flakes straight after washing my hair and my scalp is still itchy. Now, I bought this same shampoo and conditioner about 1 year ago and it didn't leave this disgusting residue and actually helped my dandruff I sometimes get. They have clearly changed the ingredients. I hate this product and will never buy any head and shoulders product ever again. Complete waste of time and money, avoid at all costs.
