Top/Base Coats -FingerPaints -Calcium Boost Base Coat

on 6/23/2018 11:17:00 PM

I bought this at Sally for around $5 and am very happy with this product's performance. It extends the life of my polish significantly and goes on smoothly and easily, creating an even base. It think it works better than ridge filler for my nails even though it's not a particularly formulated product. The paddle brush is easy to work with, too. My nails feel and look great with this product under my polish. I think I may like it better than Orly Bonder.

Polishes -FingerPaints -Gel Polish

on 1/17/2018 10:56:00 AM

I bought the gel nail starter Kit,
Whenever I use it my polish lasts about three days before peeling. That's really bad for gel polish.
Also the base and top coats get sally patchy and uneven when they are curing.
For a while i thought it was maybe how i was applying it but after using other brands i'm sure that finger paints starter kit is just not a good quality product.
I definitely don't recommend.

Polishes -FingerPaints -Tribal He-art Beat nail polish

I went looking for a dark nail polish shade for Fall and popped into Sally Beauty Supply. This one caught my eye. In the bottle it sort of looks like OPI Lincoln Park After Dark (or After Midnight, take your pick), but a little a good way. But this only looks (a little!) like the OPI shade(s) in the bottle.

Once applied, this looks different shades in different lighting, sometimes looking more purple-toned, sometimes looking like hints of burgundy are peeking through, and of course the more layers, the darker it becomes. All in all I would say this is a burgundy-plum shade. Even could look like an eggplant shade, again, depends on the lighting. Beautiful....Could look a little vampy. Wonderful for Fall. Applies like a dream. Glides right on so smoothly and is easy to control. I love this. I was never keen on After Midnight or After Dark, they both always seemed to be a little "off" somehow shade-wise to me, and this is pretty much what I hoped/thought those would be like. Gorgeous. Stunning. Would repurchase in a heartbeat and the formula is wonderful, so would recommend. I do not have hardly any FingerPaint nail polishes (maybe like 3 or 4 total?), and I honestly can't remember much about the other shades I own..but this one is a it!!

Polishes -FingerPaints -Feeling Bamboozled

Cute glitter topper. The formula is a little difficult though. A lot of "fishing" and dabbing is required with this one.

FP's Feeling Bamboozled is a limited-edition shade (Bamboo Brights Collection) that's made up of magenta, pink, yellow, green, and blue neon hex glitters suspended in a clear base. All of the glitters are uniform in size, so you end up with kind of a chunky polka-dot effect. I think this polish could use some neon microglitters, but that's just my personal taste.

And the packaging is cheesy. Standard FP bottle, but all the shades in this collection have a silly-looking bamboo-printed plastic wrapper on the top. Just unnecessary.

For a similar effect, I recommend Bitzy's Funky Melon (also sold at Sally's). It's also made of neon glitter in a clear base, but the glitters are multi-sized. It looks better on the nail IMO.

Overall, this is not something that I would buy again.
