Blush -Dior -Rosy Glow Awakening Blush

on 4/18/2019 11:30:00 AM

This is one of my favorite and most used blushes, and I have gone through many lol. I'm always looking for blush that can give a pop of color on my NW20 skin without making me look like a clown, and that ideally works with many different lip colors and such. For me this is a beautiful and surprisingly neutral pop of color. It's not quite a blue-toned bubblegum pink, or a warm peachy pink. It's somewhere in between, and for that reason I'm able to use with a lot of different looks. It's very fine-milled and applies smoothly, never patchy. The color is buildable, so if you're needing just a subtle wash of color it can give that, but if you're looking for a more intense dose of color a few layers will do that too.

The case is gorgeous and glam, and I will note that the brush that comes with it is not junky either. Sometimes the brushes that are included in blushes, including high-end ones, are kind of a joke, but sometimes I actually use this brush in favor of my more luxe brushes, especially if I'm in a rush, because it's soft but sturdy and applies the color smoothly. So it can be a good on-the-go or travel product.

Fragrances -Dior -Hypnotic Poison Eau de Toilette

on 4/18/2019 6:44:00 AM

I've been into fragrance since 2004 and I am just now smelling Hypnotic Poison. What took me so long!!! This is a gorgeous vanilla/almond/jasmine scent. Like other reviewers have said it's a very comforting scent. Makes me think of a mother with her new born baby rubbing gentle vanilla scented lotion on her new born. Or a little girls tea cup party where little almond cookies are served with a vase of jasmine sitting on the pretty plastic pink table. I've read people smell root beer or play dough. I don't smell either of those things. This perfume kind of makes me think of Elmers glue. I've read that before with other perfumes that have vanilla and almond notes. I'm thinking of another childhood memory of being in art class in kindergarten and cutting out silly shapes from cardboard paper then gluing them on with a bottle of Elmers glue. A very innocent naive type of scent. I love it.

Palettes -Dior -Collection Voyage Cannage Couture Collection All over Makeup Palette

This was one of the most useful palettes I ever had. I still have it to occasionally swatch and compare other items against- I always find that this wins on different points (texture, effect, lasting power). Not a single dud- oh except the true white shade which is not as good as the others in quality. (to be fair the pale gold, bronze and dark brown are the good ones, the other side is mediocre). The main bad thing was the lippies needed to have been compartmentalized better but still amazing for a beginner especially. If anyone has this you are very lucky. The bronze and deep brown are the type of rich multidimensional but elegant and smooth textured (shimmer well integrated) shadows that nothing else could match and only Dior could do.

Polishes -Dior -Nail Enamel

Dior’s polishes are among my favorites.
- Some of them need only one coat.
- Contrary to Chanel polishes, they don’t chip off after a day or two.
- The color range is amazing. The reds and pinks are just delicious.
- They don’t take ages to dry.
Dior should do more matte finish polishes, 614 Jungle Matte and 999 Matte Red are THE. BEST. MATTES. EVER.
If you don’t mind splurging on a nail polish, Dior Vernis is a great choice. Very consistent range.

Lip Treatments -Dior -Addict Lip Maximizer Plumping Gloss

For a gloss this does not last well. For a product that prevents your lips from drying out, it’s good. However I would not, in future, pay so much for a necessity that can be so affordable and easily attainable. I have to reapply every hour if I want it on my lips. Maybe that is a sign it absorbs? But I don’t like that. I want to feel + see SOMEthing on. It’s not like a subtle thing is left- It’s completely vanished as though it evaporates away, leaving behind the microshimmer.
Lips are the same size as they would be had I used anything else hydrating, including Nivea lip balm.
With me the gloss is going down and already it shows the sides of the interior container (ie gloss is being used up quickly). Dior used to make amazing balms and glosses- their glosses in their travel kits for instance

(i still have a couple and tried one on a few times to compare against this gloss)
back in the day truly made your lips look big and really lasted and moisturized better than anything. Dior makeup has honestly gone very downhill in the past 4-5 years imo.
