Moisturizers -Cliniderm -Soothing Lotion

on 6/30/2017 10:22:00 AM

Recommended by my dermatologist for my sensitive and acne-prone skin (I have combination skin).

This lotion is really simple, silicone and petroleum. It seems like I'm with the group of people who can't tolerate high amount of silicone and petroleum in one product. Like many reviews here, I started to have many clogged pores as well as small whiteheads after one week of use day and night. It was starting to become more apparent than before. Never had clogged pores on my nose, but since using this lotion, I now do! I haven't change anything in my routine except adding this moisturizer.

This lotion is somewhat thick and tacky. There will be a layer on your skin as it won't absorb completely. It might make your pores more apparent and also cling to your dry patches. It is also hard to wash off if your cleanser is very gentle. You might need to double cleanse. IMO it won't moisturize well dry to very dry skin or if you are using acne prescription. It is like a protective layer over your skin and underneath it, it will kind of feel dry-dehydrated.

In brief, if you have somewhat dry-dehydrated skin but not that severe and also have no problem with high amount of silicone and petroleum clogging your pores, than this is a bland, no-frills moisturizer you could try. I wouldn't repurchase.

Ingredients: Aqua, Cyclomethicone, PEG/PPG-18/18 Dimethicone, Petrolatum, Cyclopentasiloxane, PEG/PPG-19/19 Dimethicone, Polysorbate 20, Sodium Chloride, Disodium EDTA, Sorbic Acid

Sunscreen -Cliniderm -Gentle Protective Lotion SPF 45

I used to use the Olay Regenerist SPF 50, but sadly, it's almost impossible to find in Canada anymore and shipping is outrageous. Went into Shoppers and picked this up on the recommendation of the sales woman. Backstory here, I'm allergic to most sunscreens and the sun itself breaks me out. The combination of sunscreen and sun exposure often causes blistering around my eyes and it's awful. So this is a great product for me- completely not irritating.

I wear this EVERY single day rain or shine and love it. I wear a lot of makeup and this doesn't affect it at all. Just give it a minute or two to set before you put on your primer and you're good to go. I've seen some reviews saying it messed up their application, but I've yet to have an issue. Perhaps it's that I use a primer everyday, but I can't say for sure. A lot of reviews say it's drying, but I haven't noticed anything out of the ordinary on that front.

This runs about 30.00 at Shoppers which is comparable to all higher SPF daily lotions I've seen, so I have no real issue with it. Honestly, it's a solid product if you've got sensitive skin- though obviously, that's going to vary from person to person as we all have different sensitivities. Still, if you want to give it a shot, it's decently priced for what you get.

Moisturizers -Cliniderm -Soothing Cream

I bought this product on a whim after coming across it in my local Walmart. I had been dealing with extremely dry and flaky skin on my face since the start of the winter here in Canada and was looking to try something new to help combat it. This product totally did the trick!

It is a rich, thick cream without fragrance and is definitely non irritating for me as it claims. It locks moisture into the skin and keeps skin feeling moisturized for the whole day. You can feel it a bit on the skin sometime after applying it, so it isn't like one of those lotions that completely absorbs. It leaves a barrier on the skin, which I really like for these cold months. It doesn't feel greasy or gross, but like richly moisturized ad plump skin. I've never used anything that had a similar effect on my skin. It took my flaky skin away in just a few uses and it hasn't come back since.

I haven't used this under makeup, so I can't comment on how it affects wear etc.

I have acne prone, clog prone skin and this doesn't aggravate my skin at all. I have noticed no additional clogs or breakouts since using this product. It may have even helped calm my skin down a bit since the flaky skin itself sometimes creates clogs etc.

I definitely recommend you try this if you have dry or flaky skin!

Cleansers -Cliniderm -Gentle Cleanser

It seemed okay the first few days and then I broke out in a rash on my cheeks. I also found it messy to use as a lot of product leaked into the cap and then poured out too fast. Disappointing product - won't repurchase!

Moisturizers -Cliniderm -Age Correct Night Cream

I really like this cream! I feel that it has positive effects on my skin, and I love that it has BHA and other skin improving ingredients. I have used one tube, and I have to say the cream is really long lasting (a little goes a long way). I hate to waste, so, if possible, I cut the tubes in two to remove every last bit of product. In this tube, there were about 2 uses left after cutting it in two. Some products have so much stuff left in the tube, that it gets thrown away because it becomes unhygienic .
A definite rebuy (but I will try some other products first, and then buy when it comes on sale).
