Toners -Chantecaille -Pure Rosewater toner

This is a very wonderful rosewater. It is also the purest rosewater I have tried and I have tried a bunch of different ones. If it gets in your eyes it does not sting. Unlike other rosewaters Chantecallies does not smell overwhelmingly of roses. The scent is very very light and does seem more like water than a rosewater but I like it. Its very refreshing and does not leave your face sticky like some other rosewaters do. The spray mechanism is exceptional. It sprays out quite a heavy mist of rosewater but the droplets are fine. I can tell I am going to go through this bottle quickly considering how much rosewater is sprayed out with each pump. The price though is absolutely outrageous for a rosewater. $74.00 for a 3.4 ounce bottle. The bottle is quite lovely in that it is glass. And actually I bought the limited edition bottle that has lovely hand painted roses on it of which only 100 bottles of the limited edition were crafted. The thing that was disappointing about it though is that it is not a refillable bottle. I was hoping to get this beautiful limited edition and have it for many years to refill with other less expensive rosewaters but no dice. So two lippies off for the price and non refillable bottle. It seems like a shame to throw away such a beautiful hand painted bottle but what am I going to do with a rosewater bottle. Display it? Lol. We'll see.

Eye Shadow -Chantecaille -Olivia Mermaid Eye Matte

Olivia is one of the Chantecaille Mermaid Matte cream shadows, new for summer 2018. It's described as grey, but it has a touch of brown which makes it a great light-medium neutral that works with any liner (black, brown, grey, navy, green). The shadow is matte, but has a bit of luminosity to it when applied, though I can't see any shimmer in it. It comes packaged in the usual Chantecaille pot, which makes for easy access (it's wide enough to get a finger or any brush into it, and I apply with fingers). I deducted one lipstick because the formula is a little drier than the shimmer shadows, and while it's a great neutral, it doesn't have the chameleon quality that Triton (shimmer) does. Would I repurchase? I have to say maybe. It's a great neutral and a bit different from the norm, and I can't say it can be duped, but I much prefer Triton to Olivia. If you want a cream-formula neutral shade, look around before you spend $34 on this one.

Tinted Moisturizer -Chantecaille -Just Skin Tinted Moisturizer Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 15

I usually do like Chantecaille products and I am French so I do try to support French businesses.
Mind you, it looks like their products are now being manufactured in Japan...
This very product caused me to break out very badly. I do have a very sensitive skin but I don’t have allergic reactions very often at all.
I advise sensitive skin users to test it first before splurging on a product which will be wasted!
I am fine with their Future Skin foundation but I love best their eye shadows.

Eye Shadow -Chantecaille -Triton Mermaid Eye Color

Triton is described on the Chantecaille website as "A warm and moody silvery gray." That, believe it or not, is quite right. Triton is a chameleon. It looks like a medium, neutral-to-warm brownish-blah-grey in the pot, but can look grey, brown, taupe, green, or silver on the lid depending on the light and application. Part of this is due to the very fine shimmer it contains. It's mostly silver, but if looked at in direct sun, it's easy to distinguish a sprinkling of other subtle colors throughout. The product has a dry, firm texture that feels a bit gritty when picked up with a finger, but don't let that put you off. The application is incredibly smooth and easy, and it's easy to apply a wash or build it up for a bit of drama and a beautiful sheen that's subtler than metallic. It wears extremely well--8+ hours in heat and humidity--with no creasing and only a little fading. The shadow is packaged in a small pot that allows easy access to a brush or finger, and I've had no issues with it drying out even though I've had it for over a year (the texture is the same as the day I got it--impressive). If you're looking for a shadow that's different yet elegant, works for casual, work, or evening looks, *and* is a one-and-done, this is it. A medium application of Triton with liner (changing liner shade really changes the look--navy, brown, grey, black, green) and mascara makes a most elegant everyday eye look (I just pop it on over a primer with a finger), and because it's so changeable, you can wear it daily without seeming like you're in an eyeshadow rut. Like all things Chantecaille, it's expensive, but well worth it. I would repurchase.

Pressed Powders -Chantecaille -HD Perfecting Powder

on 6/23/2018 8:44:00 AM

I don't get why this product has so many bad reviews. I personally feel this is the best pressed HD setting powder I've tried in my life, everyday i put sunblock, concealer for under eyes, then put this powder all over my face. This makes my skin look brighter, natural and luminous. The only downsides are the hefty price and the packaging is not refillable, maybe if its refillable it won't be so expensive. Honestly, I don't wanna throw this powder case once its finish.
