Reviewing this when we're noticing hubby's bottle has only a little left in it and neither of us is sure whether we're grateful to bid it farewell, or uncomfortable with how hard to find it is these days. I can't tell the sharp opening is smokey lapsang souchoung, it could be anything really. But it turns into the distinct, convincing new tire smell quickly. New sports car mentions are spot on imo. It is a vanillad tire, but even with my love hate relationship with vanilla, it is pulled off into that sweet smell of a new car interior, timid enough behind the tire scent that it isn't the smell of driving back from Christmas with family with mother's vanilla crescents in the leather back seat of a new scooby. The dry down is a to die for woodsy note, a really incredible woodsy note that to me, alone is worth hours of wondering whether I love smelling of tires or find it weird. It's mixed with rough leather, old leather this time, hyde. Amazing. The bottle is interesting and fitting for men or female car enthusiasts. I like black packaging in general. A unisex fragrance, easily. One to try, although whether it's a keeper, I don't know. It has sentimental value for me as my other half wears it occasionally and I wear it to smell like him (and for that woodsy note *sigh*), but all that tire, tire, tire can get a little...tiring. Projection modest. Longevity though is surprising. I think it's been gone for hours, then get a perfectly good sudden whiff of it, several times over. Points for creativity, who knew tires would work in a scent. And god that woodsy note, wow.

Iris d’Or is an iris waiting to happen on my skin. Unfortunately, woodsy notes are lost while the sweetness is amplified. This leaves me underwhelmed, especially when Iris d’Or starts to smell like some other fragrances. The opening is a prominent, sweet and rather flat violet on me. Not as candied as some Guerlains, but not as deep or exciting, either. Interestingly, the sheer and sweet sensation makes me think of another Guerlain –Idylle- but this is not based on the similarity of notes. It is just that sheer, sweet impression. Iris d’Or moves to its heart pretty quickly and becomes rather thicker and louder. There is this very noticeable make-up bag smell. I almost want to say Guerlinade. I also get something eerily similar to Lipstick Rose although Iris d’Or’s presentation is much louder, and less rounded. I think this is the heliotrope. There is a phase, a transition to the drydown which lasts almost as long as the heart itself and unfortunately, it is too flat and sweet on my skin. (And I do enjoy sweet fragrances.) The drydown is a come-hither scent, first powdery and then very nicely creamy. The clean, mellow iris that is there from the beginning onward becomes most prominent at this stage. Unfortunately, it is too clean mellow for my liking. Iris d’Or radiates well for an hour on me and then becomes a skin scent. I will not buy Iris d’Or because I already have a favorite iris fragrance - Iris Poudre- and I don't think Iris d'Or is better. Notes per Basenotes: Top notes: Violet, Mimosa, RaspberryHeart notes: IrisBasenotes: Sandalwood, Tonka Bean, Vetiver

This is a LOVELY happy and very pleasant fragrance, but it almost disappears by the time you can get your nose up to your wrist to appreciate it, and I have the EDT version. My one lippie review on price is due to the fact that it has NO lasting power or silage. I wish it did! A very expensive fragrance for the few minutes you can enjoy it.

This is a beautiful, soft scent that is suitable for all occasions.I don't find it boring (unlike some) because I can smell the pistachio ice cream note quitedistinctly along with the musk. Together these are quite magical.I often reach for this scent on cooler summer days as its green notes are well-suitedto that kind of weather. You will always smell classy wearing this.

I confess, I read that Meghan Markle likes this, and I found it cheaply at an auction website. Not a bad scent, I might give a 3.5. Ladylike, gentle, a pleasant violet perfume. It reminds me of the smell of "guest soaps" we used to have when I was a child. Nothing original here, but this soft scent is safe to wear to church, the office or running errands. It is a bit like a much watered down Lolita lempicka. You could wear this in front of the Queen, I think, without upstaging or offending her.
