Brows -BeneFit Cosmetics -Gimme brow

on 11/17/2017 9:07:00 PM

I must confess that when it comes to eyebrow mascara, by heart belongs to Maybelline's Brow Drama Sculpting Brow Mascara. It's ball-topped brush is perfect to groom and fluff up my thick, long and feathery if not sometimes messy brows. Benefit's Gimme Brow has a more basic brush that has a habit of getting product on the skin under the brow hairs, something that I hate and I find nearly impossible with the ball brush from Maybelline.

It is a matter of taste really, as I prefer to keep my brows feathery, with one being able to see individual hairs all combed together to great thick, arched brows which is the effect given from Maybelline. Gimme Brow, on the other hand fills in the hairs with the fibers so after it is hard to see individual hairs which I thought I wanted but actually miss, making my brows almost look drawn on. I do love this product, however to fill in a single but noticeable area on each side of my brows where the longs hairs kind of clump together leaving spaces that almost look like scars in the way the skin shows through the brows. For the same reasons why people cut their grass - shorter grass looks thicker - I find my long eyebrow hairs can look less thick in some areas, a situation not to my liking.

Gimme Brows does a great job of filling these areas in a way that is seamless. For this reason I wear it every day to fill certain areas. All over would be too much for the feathery look I enjoy but I find this product the only thing that fills these areas without much effort. For those who want filled in brows without skin showing between their hairs will really appreciate the ease of the mascara as well, possibly becoming a HG brow mascara for them.

It is also worth nothing thatI love to use the ball from Maybelline to fluff out the hairs closest to between my eyes to get brows as close to Frida Kahlo as possible. The mascara brush from Benefit can't do this or it will smear all over my face, another reason why I use Gimme Brow to spot correct, but is does a great job at this and I will continue to but this for a very long time.

Mascara -BeneFit Cosmetics -They're Real Tinted Primer

on 11/17/2017 7:53:00 PM

I am a big fan of mascara primers in theory but my only experience with them is the one from L'oreal which I like but I have trouble covering up the white glue-like product, which is turn makes me use more mascara than I would typically like that this leaves me with flaking through out the day.

I am really liking this primer as it is a brown shade leaving me nothing to cover up with my mascara. The mink color is nice and dark which was a concern of mine as it looks light on the brush but works great on my dark lashes and dark brown hair color. I love this product especially on my lower lashes which are long but not very dark. The effect is totally natural, my lashes but better without looking like Twiggy and I have had no issues with it smearing or flaking which happens every time I use mascara on the bottom. Because the effect is so natural I don't feel like it makes my dark under eyes look worse, as mascara tends to do as well.

I can also add less mascara on my top lashes and I have had no issues with flakes like I typically do. Partly I am sure as this primer feels like it really grips the mascara on top when applying but also because I am getting away with much less product in general. Because I use what I would consider a dry mascara (Cover Girl's professional remarkable tubing mascara and a layer of Revlon's tubing mascara on top) I do let this primer dry before adding my mascaras and between each layer and it works great for me, I love it!

With so many pros one may wonder why this is not a five star review. The only issue for me is that, especially when wet this primer has fumes that dry and irritate my eyes. My eyes are pretty sensitive but I have not had this problem with the Loreal white primer or the other mascaras I have tried. Once dry I can go about my day without thinking too much about this but I do worry that over a period of time my eyes may get drier and drier and create a problem for myself. Only time will tell how big an issue this will be for me. I hope it does not get worse and I am willing to try as I love the hyper real, almost dramatic effect this primer has on my lashes. I would be very sad to have to stop using this and I hope this does not happen. I will update with more info in the days or weeks following as this is a very new product for me right now. I would totally recommend this if you do not have sensitive eyes! Wish me luck...

Blush -BeneFit Cosmetics -Dandelion

I adore this blush. I had a sample and when I finished it I immediately bought the full size. It flatters very much my skintone (nc25). I wear it every day and it suits with a variety of makeup looks. Yes I will buy it again!

Palettes -BeneFit Cosmetics -Cheek Parade Bronzer & Blush Palette

on 11/17/2017 7:49:00 AM

I loved everything about this palette EXCEPT for the fact that California doesn't seem to have much pigmentation at all. I don't understand why it's so hard to get the colour onto my cheeks. I've tried it with so many brushes. It seems as though the one in this palette just isn't as pigmented as the single California blush. And the main reason why I decided to get this palette was to try Hoola Lite and California.
Everything other shade works amazingly though but I wouldn't repurchase this exact palette if any of the shades run out.

Liquid -BeneFit Cosmetics -"Hello Flawless!" Oxygen Wow

on 11/14/2017 5:08:00 PM

My skin - Combination to oily. I purchased this after a recommendation by the sales assistant in my local boots store. Unfortunately this is not a great product for my skin. The foundation sits on top like a waxy/greasy layer and also has brought out spots on my brow line. The coverage is low/medium. I wonder if this foundation would be better suited for those with dryer skin. I will not be re-purchasing.
