Sunscreen -bareMinerals -Complexion Rescue Defense Radiant Protective Veil SPF 30

I love the Complexion Rescue tinted moisturizer and I was quite excited to see a complimenting product to up the spf and enhance everything I love about the tint. Clean protection? Increased hydration? Blue light protection... whaaaat? Ok, whatever, I’ll try it anyways.
I am not a big fan of this style of packaging. It could be just a squeeze tube but it has a pump, my experience being they leave too much product behind that is difficult to get out. But the pump works nice and is easy to control.
It leaves a bit of a white film behind so this can’t be used as a stand-alone product. Under the complexion rescue tinted moisturizer it goes away and lightens the color slightly, perhaps I feel it does due to the ”radiant” factor. Wears nice, the tint glides over it with no pilling or caking. Isn’t drying, a bit of a challenge to prevent when zinc oxide is involved.
BUT It has a faint but pleasant smell and ugh, just looked at the ingredients to try to figure out what it might be coming from and it has fragrance... (#$@%*!!!) Come on Bare Minerals, really?!! This kind of actually p*sses me off because BM is supposed to be one of those brands where not a speck of fragrance is present but they just blew that out of the water (long string of verbal profanities).
One lippie off for the whitening, another for the #&@$ fact they use fragrance. Won’t be repurchasing, there are plenty of other sunscreen products out there that work and feel just as nice and brands that don’t lie and bury a smelly secret under a spew of claims.

Eye Shadow -bareMinerals -The Nature of Nudes Eyeshadow Palette

on 10/20/2018 12:17:00 PM

This is my favorite palette ever, and I want to review it in case anyone else is in my category: low contrast coloring. I have low contrast coloring, which means my hair color and skin color are not too different from each other. No big contrast. My coloring is like Jennifer Aniston's: can you imagine her in bold, colorful eyeshadow? No way, it'd be unflattering. You may think the shades in this palette are not exciting. But if you swatch them, you see subtle satin finishes, or that some lean towards "green" or "gray" or "golden". If you are low contrast, these colors appear *more* colorful on the eyes. If you have never been able to use more than 3 pans in a large palette like this, maybe you are also low contrast... try this one or at least swatch it. I am older than 35, my eyelids have "texture" (ugh) and the subtle shimmers are very flattering and don't accentuate texture, so this is also great for textured lids.

Tinted Moisturizer -bareMinerals - Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream

I loved this tinted moisturizer, I loved how it felt, the coverage, and the glow it added. Because of those things, I used almost the entire tube, but every time I used it it made me break out. So unfortunately, I can't buy it again.

Lips -bareMinerals -Gen Nude Radiant Lipstick

These are surprisingly good lipsticks. For texture and pigmentation they rival luxury brands. You are bound to find your perfect MLBB shade here, or at least a shade that truly compliments your coloring. The texture is very creamy, these are highly pigmented, and they are full coverage as opposed to sheer. There is little to no shimmer in the shades I have. I find myself reaching for these time and time again. You simply cannot go wrong. If you are in a rush or you cannot decide, these lipsticks will always work well. There is no scent and I find them to be moisturizing. They feel great on the lips. Grab a few. You will want to keep one or two in your purse so that you always have a great neutral lipstick.

Liquid -bareMinerals -bareMinerals BarePro Liquid Foundation

on 9/27/2018 5:36:00 AM

This is, to me, the same product as Mac pro longwear foundation or the Smashbox studio skin.

I dont like how this still feels kinda tacky if you use this with a silicone primer. Sits in pores too much. Looks dry while it feels tacky.

Such a same, was hoping this would be perfect.

-------------------- Update --------------------

I've been working with this foundation and now I do like it. But it a picky foundation that won't work with every moisturizer (embryolisse lait-crème concentré works great with this foundation ) and primer.
To me, this only looks good (pore smoothing) when I use this with Tarte timeless smoothing primer and porefessional benefit (both applied) This way it doesn't stay tacky. (I never set my foundations with powder, I need the foundation to set itself)

Now I do like it, but you have to keep in mind that this foundation doesn't work the best with very 'wet' silicone primers. The foundation has a hard time to set and floats on the skin. (Exemple: L'Oréal Paris Infaillible Primer Matte Base DID NOT work good with this foundation. Made skin look older)

If you have dry skin, I think you would have to find a good hydrating primer to go with it. Which (with this foundation) can be quite a journey. Also, if you have trouble with this foundation, try another moisturizer. Different primers.

Long wearing
Nice matte finish
Sets (with the right primers, eye rolling)
Looks natural
Can make skin look more smooth (with the right primers, eye rolling)
Good coverage (medium buildable)

If you are very picky, like I am, and you need it to be perfect (looking up close) and you have texture you like to hide; you need a very good primer. Tarte is amazing for blurring pores with this one.

Can look dry if you have more dry skin.

Bottom line: You really need to work with this and found out how it works best for you.

Foundation is similar to:

Smashbox studio skin foundation, but this has more coverage and sets faster.
Mac pro longwear
Loreal infallible pro matte (Infallible sets faster)
And kinda like double wear; but definitely not as cakey. More natural version.

The formula is not too watery. More like a lighter version of double wear.
