I ordered this on a whim when I wanted something small that I could carry in my purse AND that wasn't "grandma scented" aka powder and roses..... I figured since Ariana Grande is in her mid-twenties that was a good bet but I am stupid because obviously she doesn't wear this, she just sells it so it needs to have mass appeal so yup.... It has a powdery rose floral scent that's not really too youthful. That said, it's not a terrible fragrance. It's just not what I was expecting. I was thinking it would be more vanilla, coconut, pear and berries. It's not the most lasting but it's certainly not the worst in terms of staying power. I will finish my bottle. I don't hate it. I doubt I will repurchase this exact scent but I will definitely try others from her line.

I don't "get" this fragrance at all. I bought it blind with Ulta points. When I got it, the first time I spritzed it it was STRAIGHT lavender on me with nothing else, and that was not what I had hoped for or heard that it would be. Since I had a FB, I tried it again - and upon second spritz it was sweet and long lasting (read: more than one day) and really, really appealing, with a sweet-tart (the candy) vibe that I really liked and no lavender. The unpredictability has continued with further attempts. I'm not gonna say I regret buying it (although I might, a little, since I don't like Ariana and her donut-lickin' ways). But when Cloud works, it works and it's amazing. When it doesn't work, it's a one-note wonder which, if one is into straight lavender, one might really like. If I'm gonna wear lavender, it's gonna be in another form (read: "Badger sleep balm"), which I know will be consistent. I don't like Ariana Grande anywhere near enough to help her make money on something as inconsistent as this.

Thank U Next is a very similar fragrance to the first Ariana Grande fragrance (Ari); Thank You Next is more fruity then floral, as the coconut develops immediately and carries throughout the perfume's wear-time, with notes of watery pear & red berries which are also found in Ari alongside it. The background is composed of quiet powdered rose and underdeveloped floral notes that could really be anything - rose is another note also found in Ari, by the way. And yes - the base of musk-infused sugary vanilla is another Ari throwback. In more is-this-a-remake-of-Ari moments; this fragrance is very linear on me, thanks to the strong coconut accords. The longevity is only so-so at best - nothing to write home about about at 4 to 5 hours. As far as I'm concerned it is the bottle for Thank U Next that is the most impressive and unique feature about the perfume. Official scent notes; white pear, wild raspberry, creme de Coconut, pink rose petals, macaroon sugar & Velvet musk. Thank U Next isn't a 'bad' fragrance, but I'm disappointed by how similar it is to Ari; just layer a few drops of coconut oil with your Ari perfume and you have Thank U, Next. Cloud took the Ariana Grande fragrance line in a new, more exciting direction and it's a shame that its already taken a u-turn back to the safer fruit & sugar "give me the fans money" generic route. I think it should have been one of the pom-pom bottle releases, rather than being passed off as an all-new pillar perfume - and it should have had a late spring release - I think most people think of coconut as being a summery scent note. Overall; I can best describe Thank U Next as smelling like when you pass through Victoria's Secret beauty section, as it smells like so many fragrances that have been widely available on the fragrance market for years already.
