Lips -Revlon - Colorburst Lip Butter in Sugar Plum

Beautiful plum colour that goes on sheer. You can layer it for more pigmentation, like a lipstick. Great creamy consistency, it is very moisturizing.

Primer/ Corrector -MAC - Prep + Prime Face Protect SPF 50
zimzaz 1/26/2013 5:07:00 PM
I have been using this a primer and sunscreen since 2008. It used to work perfectly to control excess oiliness and make sure that the makeup stayed in place all day. It was so effective as a primer that I never had to use an eyeshadow primer before doing my eye makeup. The only difficulty was in removing because you needed a really strong makeup remover. Now, the consistency is totally different. I thought my tube had gone bad because it deposits a weird lumpy white substance and a a cloudy liquid. Turns out, nope, formula has changed. Not cool! Why fix something that isn't broken?! Now it is way too drying on the skin...there is no way to combine the two separated substances AND it doesn't operate with the same hold as before. I'm quite disappointed because now I have to find another primer with sunblock.

Blush -NARS - Mata Hari
zimzaz 1/26/2013 4:58:00 PM
Mata hari is a fantastic purple/pink for those with olive undertones! The colour in the pan is very bright looking so the initial application might be a bit scary for some. However, once you apply it, it is simply STUNNING. I have to be careful to do a very gentle sweep of the brush because it is very easy to apply too much since it is a very soft consistency. But you get a hang of it pretty quickly. I wear directly over moisturizer/ sunscreen. My only problem (as is with all NARS blushes) is that the compact gets super messy with the loose blush powder. I find this wasteful since it is not cheap. I still say it is worth the price since a little goes a very very long way. I also own the shade Orgasm and while orgasm is excellent for a little bit of everyday colour, it doesn't suit me half as well as Mata Hari does. Instantly enlivens the complexion and really suits my skintone since it is close to the colour of my natural blush. Orgasm is not the only fantastic shade in the NARS range! Give them a try!

Blush -NARS - Orgasm Blush
zimzaz 1/26/2013 4:45:00 PM
Bought this blush after much deliberation since it looks VERY orange in the pan! But now I understand what the hype is about. I don't wear any foundation so I was looking for something that would go on well on bare skin. This definitely does go on well and stays on for several hours. The colour is light and build-able. The sparkles are not noticeable on your skin if you only use a light dusting for a flushed look. It works as a colour and illuminator at the same time. So if you hesitate to buy it because of the sparkles, do not worry! They don't show up on the skin like some pre-teen glitter makeup. I have only one criticism: I realize that the consistency is the reason it applies so well on the skin but I find that there is way too much being wasted after you sweep a brush across the pan. The powder tends to gather in the frame where the blush pot is actually laid and gets the whole compact messy. For the price, this is a problem. I find that I have to handle the compact VERY gingerly because I'm afraid of making a mess or having the powder crumble. All in all, definitely give it a try if you find yourself frustrated with finding the perfect blush for yourself!

Blush -Calvin Klein - Cheek Color Wash in Radiant
zimzaz 7/17/2010 11:55:00 PM
This is a blush for those who dont wear makeup. My cosmetic regimen consists of moisturizer, sunscreen and eyeliner but I was curious to give blush a try. I was looking for something very natural, that would look like a flush after a workout or just after waking up. This is a creamy compact. The box it came with says to use your fingers but i was afraid of applying too much so I use a blush brush you would use with a powder blush. I find this works well in terms of colour distribution and layering. It has amazing lasting power and shows very well even on bare skin. I'm very disappointed to discover that this line has been discontinued after i searched for online retailers who sell it. I have not been able to find more of the same to stock, unfortunately.

Fragrances -Nina Ricci - Nina (New)
zimzaz 7/17/2010 11:46:00 PM
A very bright and clean scent. It has a very fine balance of a fresh and sultry. This is a very good, everyday daytime scent. I wore this regularly for school because the scent actually has surprisingly amount of lasting power. And it can be layered very well. So it never becomes overpowering. As other reviewers have mentioned, for some reason, this scent turns heads. I cant remember how many people asked me what I was wearing whenever I wore this scent. I wouldnt buy this perfume again for the sole reason that I'm a perfume fanatic, so while I would love to buy it again, there are other ones on my list to try next! That said, it could easily be my signature scent!

Fragrances -Coty - Harajuku Lovers - Baby
zimzaz 7/17/2010 11:36:00 PM
As the other reviewers have mentioned, this is a very strong baby powder scent. But I want to mention that the scent, like for any perfume, changes slightly or a very much, depending on the wearer. I do like the smell of baby powder but my friends do not. When we first tried this perfume out, everyone other than me, hated the smell of it on their skins. And for some reason, everyone else likes this scent on me too!! It is definitely not for everyone and you have to spray it sparingly. It dries down to a very pleasant powdery/flowery smell. Very expensive, as a 30ml e.d.t is around 50 dollars. The bottle is a collector's item in itself, so that might appeal to some people! All in all, a very cute smell.

Fragrances -Marc Jacobs - Daisy Eau de Parfum
zimzaz 7/17/2010 11:29:00 PM
This is a deeper version of the eau de toilette Daisy. I absolutely love the smell of this parfume! It basically has everything a good scent should...good top notes, very pleasant mid ones and the drydown is absolutely heavenly. This is for those who love a combo of flowers and musk. It has fruit top notes, specifically strawberry, which is very pleasant. However, I am addicted to the scent for the base notes, the dry down part, which is the part that last the longest. It is a sharp, clean scent that makes a person want to keep going back to it to smell it. It is not a strong scent, in the typical sense of the word. It does not 'stick' in your nose. Recommended for those who like clean scents with hints of fruits, flowers and musk-- not an abundance of any of the three.

Lotions/ Creams -St. Ives - Mineral Therapy Lotion
zimzaz 7/17/2010 11:21:00 PM
Very good allover moisturizer. It spreads well and absorbs well, too. Especially when I wana apply it right after a shower and my skin is still a little wet. I find some lotions tend to just sit on the wet skin but this absorbs pretty well. The smell is a little strong initially when you apply it, not unpleasant, just a little strong. However, it dissipates after a few minutes. It doesnt interfere with any fragrances applied on top, either. The price is pretty good too. You can pick it up on sale at almost all major grocery stores. Pretty awesome deal given how good of a moisturizer it is if you have normal skin and are planning on using it as an extra moisture barrier for your skin.

Lip Treatments -SoftLips - sweet rose
zimzaz 7/17/2010 11:11:00 PM
Colour: The colour, in the tube, is a very pretty dusty rose. When applied, because it's sheer, it suits most lips. Consistency: maybe i'm more used to glossier balms but I find the texture a little a dry. It requires a few sweeps for me to be assured that I've applied enough. Otherwise, very nice, not greasy and doesnt bleed. I happen to chew my lips so I require quite a few re-applications throughout the day but I find that this provides enough moisture that i dont require as many applications.
