Fragrances -L'Occitane - Cherry Blossom Solid Perfume
zilfbambi 8/28/2009 1:52:00 PM
The good thing about this perfume is that it does not contain alcohol, which i find think can distort the scent a little. I find that this one smells slightly warmer than the EDT. The smell is soft, floral, and powdery. It is not at all over powering. It is the kind of perfume that brings comfort. Sometimes i find myself struggling to bask in the scent of some floral perfume, because it is over powering and it gives me a headache. Cherry Blossom is a scent that i would live in. It is definitely a comforting scent. It reminds me of a a walk in the gardens in a breezy summer evening. The downside of this perfume is the packaging. I wish it would come in a stick form like a lipbalm. I hate it when the paste gets stuck in my nails when i swirl my finger inside the pan. And i do not like the fact that im wasting the perfume when i have to transfer it from my fingers and to my skin. Not to mention, the perfume MELTS and it's very sensitive to temperature changes.... :(. I got into my car on my way back home, and i found out the surface melted into liquid and it seep to the sides of the pan. What a waste! Other than that, it smells AMAZING
Fragrances -The Body Shop - Japanese Cherry Blossom EDT

I went to my local TBS store last week and spritz some of this on with hope that it would be a good substitute for L'ocittane's Japanese Cherry Blossom. I HATE TBS's version. Smells like cheap soap. Smells too floral, artificial and yucky. It smells really warm too, which i hate. L'occitane's version has more crisp too it, and it smells like it's made of high quality ingredients.
This stuff is an all rounder for me. I use it to: - Moisturize my face. Excellent! It makes my skin soo much clearer, softer and controls greasiness. - Get rid of blemishes, the antibacterial quality of aloe is excellent to zap of nasty zits - Makeup base - Soothing eye gel - Minor burns/cuts - Eyebrow gel It works so well for my skin. I see results almost immediately! Do yourself a favour, run to your nearest drugstore and try this yourself.
I have fair-medium skin, yellow undertones, asian, very oily. This does not impress me as much as i hope it to be. It is really overpriced, definitely not recommended if you live in a hot humid weather. The lasting power is very poor (about 3 hrs), the color did not show on me, it is more suitable for people with fairer and normal-dry skin types. The good side is that it blends really well, and i prefer using a foundation brush and apply it in a dabbing motion instead of brushing it on cz the color will fade. The same goes when i tried using my fingers, most of the color got stuck on my fingers instead of my cheeks, and its really unhygienic for me to stick my finger in the product as well. Besides that, i find it really difficult to open the compact. Most of the time, i end up destroying my nails trying to open it. UPDATE: After a few weeks of use, i decided that im not really liking this product, the colour did not sink into my skin well, giving me that lacquer look. However, the staying power was pretty good, stays on the whole day, and did not appear blotchy. But i did not like the lacquer effect, and the muddy colour. Btw, my skintone is NC25
I have this in Medium Warm, it fits me well. My skintone is fair-medium with loads of yellow undertone. This is works more like a loose powder for me because it did not have much coverage. It's good if you already have clear skin with not much discoloration. It did itch on me for the first few applications. It did the same went i tried it on my sis. The packaging is too small for me to swirl my brush on the cap, the diameter is smaller then Stila's Convertible Color. The lasting power sucks, it fades in about 3hrs in humid weather. Although it is not oily, but the coverage and lasting power is really poor. The packaging looks really boring as well. The texture is alot silkier then L'oreals Mineral Foundation.
Brows -Elizabeth Arden - Dual Perfection Brow Shaper and Eye Liner
zilfbambi 5/14/2008 12:29:00 AM
I have this in Sable 03. This looks darker than the picture in the elizabeth arden website. Although it looks too dark for me in the pan, but the colour blends really well, and it looks super natural. It goes on soft brown. The pigmentation is just right, not too pigmented, not too light. Actually im gonna take half a lippy outta the perfect 5 because i did not like the brush it came in, the handle is too short and it keeps falling off my hands, it is however alot softer than the ones frm The Body Shop brow shaper. I like that it came with a miror, but elizabeth arden needs to revamp their packaging, it looks really outdated.
This is a great blusher! Although it looks really pigmented, but it goes on sheer, and blends like a dream. This is the type of blusher that sinks into the skin, therefore, it does not look like as if it's painted on. It gives me the ethereal glow that i've always wanted. If you're looking for that sunkissed look, go for this. The other thing i like about this is that it has no/minimal shimmer in it, as i feel that uber shimmery blusher looks kinda trashy.
Cleansers -Neutrogena - Deep Clean Facial Cleanser
zilfbambi 2/14/2008 12:52:00 AM
The first thing i like about this product is the scent. It smells really soft and soothing. Unlike the medicated, sterile scent that i expected. My skin felt really soft and smooth after cleansing. However, after several washes i felt a burning sensation on the skin around my nose. This happens to me after using all neutrogena products. With the great reviews on this cleanser, i had to try it. It cleanses really well, but my skin tend to get irritated after a few washes. So, i wont be using this stuff everyday.
Lotions/ Creams -The Body Shop - Coconut Body Butter
zilfbambi 1/4/2008 2:16:00 PM
This is the 3rd Body Butter that i've used from TBS. The main reason why i love body butters so much is due to the scrumptious scents! This one literally made me and my boyfriend drool. The smell is so good, i have to stop myself from tasting it. However, the texture of the Butter is pretty different from other Body Butter, it is not as smooth as others. It looks as if it is not well mixed. The smell tend to be quite heavy sometimes, although it smells absolutely delicious it is a tad too strong for my liking. It moisturizes well, but i would not recommend people with normal skin to use it all over their body because it can be quite sticky. If your skin is dry, it's gonna be great for you because this is made expecially for Normal/ Dry skin. I also have TBS Body Butter in Mango, Pink Grapefruit. My favourite among these is the Pink Grapefruit.
Lotions/ Creams -L'Occitane - 100% Pure Shea Butter

I would probably give this a 4.5 instead of a full on 5 lippies. I got this in a trial size, which i think is more then enough to last me about 6 mths (it is only good for 12M). I use it only on my lips and the driest spot on my body (ankle, elbow, knees). I like to use it on my lips the most because it makes my lips so supple and soft without being glossy and oily. I don't like lipbalms that makes my lips look glossy. This product is extremely moisturizing without being greasy. However, i find that having to melt this product on my fingers extremely tedious. It gets under my finger nails if i try to scrape it out, if i get sick of scraping, i'll just swirl my fingers in the tub to melt the top part. I know this method is extremely unhygienic. That's why im giving it 4.5. The scent is very light and nutty with a teeny bit of mint scent (wish it was stronger). Overall, this is a good rich moisturiser to buy if you have extra cash to burn.
This is my HG cleanser! I do not have a problem with Acne. Only occasional blemishes. However, i do have a problem with large pores, oil-slick face and blackheads. This heaven sent cleanser really clears my skin, without stripping the hell out of it (like what Neutrogena Cleansers does). After using this cleanser, i RARELY have any blemishes what so ever, even during my period. My skin is perfectly clear and smooth. The best thing about this product is it manages to be super deep cleansing yet super gentle. I love it! I hope the Clinique 3-step cleanser that i want to try out is better than this.
Eye Shadow -L'Oreal - Holographic - Xenon Blue 106
zilfbambi 1/3/2008 1:09:00 PM
This product comes in a really pretty shape, the shadow is pressed into a really pretty diamond-ish shape. Colour-wise, i don't really like it. Poorly pigmented. It looks really pretty in the pan, but when you do a swatch, it looks kinda like a dirty metallic-greenish-blue. It's good as a complimentary colour, but on it's own it looks really dirty. Maybe it is not suitable for my skintone (fair yellowish asian). The good part is, it is not pricey, and easy to blend.
Fragrances -The Body Shop - Altaro Eau de Toilette
zilfbambi 1/3/2008 12:53:00 PM
I have a love hate relationship with this item. People says it smells good on me, they say it gives me a mysterious aura....(nice). But i have to be honest to myself, i am not crazy about this scent, it is too heady for me. Maybe i'll like it better if i am a place with a cooler climate. The humidity in my country really makes the heady scent hard to bear and nauseating. Practically gives me a headache. To make it bearable, i only use it at night, sometimes i mix it with Vanilla fragrance also by TBS.
This product is to die for. I swear i have the straight-EST lashes ever and this mascara did all the curling for me. It's almost like hot rollers for lashes. It's dead cheap too. This should be a cult object. Anything that works on my lashes should be crowned the best, because all mascara smudge on me due to my oily lids, and i also have mascara unfriendly asian eyes and lashes. It's really straight, short, and stubborn. Therefore, this is the queen of all mascara base. I've tried it with Maybelline Unstoppable, Clinique High Impact, Diorshow, and it all works great. Missha mascara base makes my lashes curl, long, full, it didn't clump and never smudged when i put mascara (however, it gets a little hard to manage if you OD on this). So girls, get this gem of a mascara base, and do not overload your lashes with it, a little goes a long way.
This is a pretty good product. Im using the anti-dullness version, which has a purple-ish hue to it, and it really makes my skin glow. People are always complaining that it leaves a pasty white film, but i din't have this problem at all, in fact, i look all glowy, it's pretty light, but it does leaves the skin a little bit on the oily side. The high SPF and the glow it gives me compensates this problem, and it's cheap too! I might not recommend this for people who are prone to breakouts and with a darker skin tone.
