Eyeliner -Revlon - Colorstay Eyeliner
zem137 3/4/2011 4:34:00 PM
This is my everyday black eyeliner. It goes on easily and smoothly, has a nice deep black color, doesn't smudge at all if used with a primer, and is gentle enough to do my inner rims with. I also like the charcoal color to do my lower lids with, I can do a very fine line and the grey is much less harsh looking for daytime use! Overall a great product that I will continue to purchase.

Mascara -Maybelline - Full 'N Soft Mascara Waterproof
zem137 3/4/2011 4:25:00 PM
I bought this in September for a hot and humid outdoor wedding, it lasted all through the ceremony, reception, and after party with no runs, streaks, or flakes! I then sort of forgot about it until I was cleaning out my makeup drawer. I gave it another try and yes, I really do like it. It goes on smooth with no clumps, has a nice rich black color, doesn't get "crunchy" even after having it on all day, and comes off quite easily for waterproof (with Clinique Rinse Off Eye Makeup Remover). I always thought waterproof mascaras were too harsh on your lashes and impossible to remove without rubbing too hard, but this one proved me wrong!

Lips -The Body Shop - Lip & Cheek Stain
zem137 3/4/2011 4:07:00 PM
I have this in the 01 Rose Pink, which is "my lip color but better" on me. This is one of the few products that I use on an almost daily basis. It's quick, easy, and stays on under multiple swipes of lip balm (it's very dry here in the Winter). I find it quite easy to apply, the wand applicator has a fuzzy tip like a gloss so you can apply it the same way, wait a few seconds for it to dry, blot, and put a clear gloss or balm over it. I don't really use it on my cheeks as they are already pretty rosy, but for evening, or on days I feel I look pale, it does a great job. You do have to blend pretty quickly with a sponge as they aren't kidding when they call it a "stain". A swipe of this, a dusting of powder, and a quick coat of mascara and I'm out the door!

Lip Treatments -Fresh - Sugar Rose Lip Treatment SPF 15
zem137 7/1/2010 8:34:00 AM
I love the color and texture of this balm. It's moisturizing, but not at all sticky or waxy, and the soft, build-able color looks like I've been eating strawberries! So far I haven't had a problem with melting, like some others have mentioned, but I don't keep the tube in my pocket and it hasn't been super hot here yet. My only gripe is the price! $22 is a lot to pay, even for a great lip product. My other favorite, Smiths Rosebud Salve, is only $6 and if it had more pigment I never would have purchased the Fresh product. Overall I love this product. It's perfect for "natural" looks with a little bronzer and mascara, and it's great to balance out a little eye makeup when you feel you just have to add something to your lips. Will definitely repurchase!

Polishes -OPI - Bubble Bath
zem137 2/24/2010 3:09:00 PM
Nice cream light pink. Looks good against my pale skin, but I would imagine it would flatter most skin tones. As with all OPI polishes I love the wide brush, great for the 3 stroke method so no streaks. Dries fast. Good color payoff, but still somewhat sheer. The white of your nail can still be seen, it's kind of like a 1 step french manicure! Great neutral color for any season!

Lip Gloss -DuWop - Lip Venom
zem137 12/29/2009 2:38:00 PM
"This works, but it hurts. The snake venom stings. Get a plumper without snake venom" I actually laughed out loud when I read this review. There is no "venom" in your lip venom ladies, just essential oils, mostly cinnamon, that "tingle", some say burn, the lips and stimulate the blood vessels so your lips appear a little fuller and rosier. That said, I don't think it's everything it's cracked up to be. It's fun once in a while, but with it's big price tag for such a small vial I don't think I will be buying this again. Save your money and start chewing BIg Red gum, it will do basically the same thing for under $1.

Eye Primer -Too Faced - Shadow Insurance, Anti-Crease Eye Shadow Primer
zem137 12/22/2009 11:00:00 AM
I have had this for a while and have used it, but since I don't wear heavy eye makeup very often I didn't have a chance to really test this stuff till Halloween. I was doing a very frosty 80s inspired makeup look. Electric blue liner with a heavy frosted blue lid. This primer kept that crazy blue shadow and liner on and vibrant all night! Through drinking and dancing and sweating and probably rubbing my eyes by mistake at least once! I was very impressed. I checked it when I got home and it really looked the same as when I put it on 6 or 7 hours ago. I also discovered that you can dab a tiny bit of this over your light daytime makeup and then go right over it with your evening makeup without having to wash anything off. I did this for my office Christmas party last week and it worked great and my smoky evening makeup stayed on all night! Last but not least, I have to say it...FINALLY someone has put shadow primer in a useful package! I am all for fun, pretty packaging, but you still need to be able to get it out of the tube. Sorry UD but Too Faced has outsmarted you on the primer front.

Liquid -Make Up For Ever - Mat Velvet PLUS Matifying Foundation
zem137 12/22/2009 10:48:00 AM
This is my Winter foundation. Even in Winter I am oily, but I also tend to get flakes with the drier air, and my usual mineral makeup looks awful. This liquid is just perfect, creamy enough that my flakies don't show and matte enough to control the oil for most of the day without blotting. I am a #25 Warm Ivory, at least in winter, which looks perfect on my pale to medium skin with pink undertones.

Concealers -Yves Saint Laurent - Touche Eclat No 2
zem137 12/22/2009 10:16:00 AM
I got this one on a whim. At 26 I don't have much for dark circles to cover, but everyone can use a little help, right? As I have discovered, you can really use this as more of a highlighter than a concealer even though it has no discernible shimmer as most highlighters do. I use this on the outside part of my undereye area, under my brows, inner corners of my eyes, and the cupid's bow of my lips to add light without shimmer or shine.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Shadestick in Beige-ing
zem137 12/20/2009 11:20:00 AM
Definitely a little on the dry side, but as a trade off it doesn't slide off my lids like other creams, even without primer. Nice gentle shimmer in a light beige base. I use it when I am in a hurry and still want a bit of color/shimmer! Overall, a great, easy to use product.

Scrubs -St. Ives - Elements Microdermabrasion
zem137 7/28/2009 8:37:00 PM
I love this scrub. I switched from Clinique 7 Day Scrub Cream to this to save money, and it definitely works just as well. The particles are small, and my skin feels really smooth after using it. It isn't too harsh for my sensitive, acne prone skin, and doesn't leave pore clogging residue. Overall a great, inexpensive, effective product.

Polishes -L'Oreal - Pro Manicure - Mango-Get-Em 410
zem137 7/28/2009 6:39:00 PM
Unlike a lot of people, I really liked this polish, I have lighter to medium skin and medium length nails. Good color for summer against my skin (I would call it just on the orange side of coral), good coverage (only took 2 coats to make it opaque and match the bottle color), went on smoothly, and I like the flat "pro" brush a lot as I have wide nails! Overall, a great polish for the money!

Concealers -Maybelline - Pure Concealer ] [DISCONTINUED]
zem137 12/28/2008 12:44:00 PM
This is almost exactly the same as Clinique Acne Solutions Concealing Stick, exact same packaging, same percent SA, made in the same country (probably at the same factory), at half the price!! The light matches my skin well, without any of the orange tint others have complained about. It doesn't have great staying power but I have found if you put it on last and set it with a little powder it lasts most of the day without reapplying. I feel like it does help a little bit with the acne spots, at the very least it doesn't make them worse so they get a chance to heal. I also use it on the sides of my nose where it tends to be red.

Cleansers -Philosophy - Purity Made Simple (Real Purity Cleanser)
zem137 10/7/2008 10:23:00 AM
I have oily, sensitive, acne prone skin with redness in the cheeks and around the nose. This cleanses my skin without making it feel tight or itchy, and even seems to soothe the redness. Smells like a rose garden without being perfumey. I have been using this since last January and my skin is nicer than it has ever been! Smoother, softer, less breakouts, happy skin. Best facial cleanser I have tried so far! **UPDATE** Still using this as my regular everyday cleanser with much success. Just purchased the giant pump bottle size as it's a great value!

Treatments (Eye) -Skyn Iceland - Icelandic Relief Eye Cream with Biospheric Complex
zem137 10/6/2008 11:47:00 PM
Got this as a sample from beauty.com. Loved it at first, creamy, cool, moisturizing. One week later, I have a huge zit under my eye, I have never gotten a pimple there...ever. It was huge, and painful. I haven't added any other new products so I know this was the cause. I chucked it straight into the trash, won't be buying the full size, ever!
